Chapter 524 Climbing into His Bed

Chapter 524 Climbing into His Bed

Clarissa had lost to Damien in such a wretched way. The moment he seduced her, she couldn’t help

but crumble in front of him. She wanted nothing more than to slap herself in the face right now. How

could she be so stupid as to yearn for him again?

Clarissa put on her clothes in a haphazard fashion, but her clammy skin made it difficult for her.

Someone clasped her bra for her at that moment. Clarissa noticed Damien standing behind her from

the corner of her eye.

“I’m going home tonight. Bethany’s still waiting for me at home. Besides, Mrs. Faber doesn’t want to

see me right now,” she said.

“Okay,” he replied.

“Why don’t you find another woman?” Clarissa asked.

Damien stood behind Clarissa while adjusting her clothes for her. She tried to pull a sweater over her

head, but due to her clammy skin, he had to help her pull the sweater down.

Finally, Clarissa was done wearing her clothes. She pulled her hair from beneath the sweater and

flipped it outward.

The scene stunned Damien.

“Who would’ve thought I’d fall in love with a pretentious and ungrateful woman like you?”

Clarissa bit her lower lip, choosing to not say anything.

“Do you have a hair dryer?” she asked, turning her head around.

“I thought you don’t have the habit of blow-drying your hair,” Damien replied in a clipped tone.

Suddenly, he felt quite frustrated. He remembered the moments they shared together in the past. He

knew very well that Clarissa wasn’t one to blow-dry her hair. Then, he recalled the days they lived

together. After that, she suddenly vanished into thin air. A few years passed without her company.

When they finally met again, she was already 28 years old, whereas he was 36 years old. Heck, he

was going to enter his forties soon. When he first got to know her, he was only a 30-year-old man in his

prime.

Damien also questioned himself many times in the past. Why couldn’t he find another woman to be

with? Clarissa had so many bad habits. Not to mention, she was an ungrateful wench. Yet every time a

beautiful woman threw herself into his arms, he couldn’t help but think of her. He would think that the

new woman was either uglier than Clarissa, or didn’t have a personality that matched hers. Clarissa

was the type to abandon her family for the sake of pursuing higher education. No one else could match

this determination of hers.

Gradually, Clarissa became the threshold that Damien used to judge other people. To him, she was a

tall and majestic mountain no one could compare to.

“Well, I’m going to leave now. It’s been snowing heavily…” Clarissa was about to say that there had

been a huge snowfall, so the weather was very cold.

“You’re not allowed to leave!” Damien snarled out in a scratchy voice. His voice was low and hoarse.

He made it sound like he would swallow Clarissa alive if she were to leave.

“Bethany’s…”

“Let her be.”

“Mrs. Faber…”

“Isn’t there any reason in this world for you to stay here? Do you really want to leave me this badly?”

Damien suddenly raised his tone. He hated it the most when Clarissa kept coming up with excuses to

leave him. This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

“Well, I still have a reason to stay here,” she said.

“What is it?” he asked.

“Neil.”

“Just stay here!” Damien gritted his teeth angrily, his expression already dark and ugly. Then, he flung

the door open and stormed out.

Clarissa had a feeling she wouldn’t be able to leave this house today.

She thought for a moment before pulling out her phone and sending Bethany a Whatsapp message.

Clarissa: [I might not be able to go home today. I just took a bath, so my hair hasn’t fully dried yet. Also,

I’d like to sleep with Neil tonight. Will you be afraid of staying in my room by yourself?]

Soon, she received a reply from Bethany.

Bethany: [Yeah, right. You care more about your man than me. I just came here, you know? You

promised you’d share a bed with me, but you ended up sharing a bed with him. Stop lying to me,

Clarissa. Neil? Pssh! If you want to climb into Mr. Lawrence’s bed, then just say so. I came here all the

way to visit, and yet you choose to sleep with him. I bet you climb into his bed a lot more often when

I’m not here, eh?]

Clarissa: [That’s bullsh*t.]

Bethany: [Alright, alright. Whatever you say. It’s even better for me now that you’re not coming home. I

can use this opportunity to scout out cute and handsome guys on the campus. I’m free to eat whatever

I want, and I get to use your laptop to binge on dramas tonight! It’s just a vacation for me, anyway.]

Clarissa: [You can do whatever you want, but you mustn’t mess with my lecture notes and thesis.]

After the previous incident, Clarissa had become a lot more cautious. Every time she was done with

her work, she would email herself a copy. She knew Bethany wasn’t the sort of person who would

tamper with her work, so all she did was issue Bethany a reminder.

Bethany: [No problem. Don’t worry. You know what I’m like.]

Clarissa stayed in the room for a little longer before her phone pinged loudly, indicating a notification.
