Chapter 90 Revelations
Xander rushed over to intervene, but it was already too late.
Freya Stone had fallen from the upstairs.
Elijah coldly ordered, “Take her away.”
He turned and walked out of the room. Xander glanced down from the window. Although it was only the second floor, it was still a significant height, and Freya would likely be injured from the fall. He felt a hint of sympathy but not for Freya Stone. She had challenged Elijah first.
Why did she run away when everything was fine?
Downstairs.
Freya Stone curled up on the ground, in pain all over. Her legs, in particular, hurt badly, and she trembled as she touched her leg bones, suspecting that they were likely broken.
Xander ordered his men to lift her up. There was no care, just a rough and forceful handling. Freya Stone had no strength to resist. She was dragged like a boneless puppet.
Although this was Ronan Vega’s territory, Elijah had come prepared, bringing a large number of people. Ronan Vega had no choice but to watch as Freya Stone was taken away! He was furious with himself at his carelessness, Elijah’s cunning and deceit!
“Elijah, this is not over between us!” Ronan Vega erupted in anger.
Elijah didn’t even bother to look at him.
He just left.
Freya Stone, weakened from childbirth, fell unconscious when they put her into the car.
Xander asked, “She’s bleeding. Should we take her to the hospital first?”
“No.” Elijah responded.
From that height, she wouldn’t die from the fall.
He was well aware of that.
It would be best if she ended up crippled. In that case, Freya Stone could never flee from him ever again.
Xander didn’t say more; he knew Elijah was acting out of anger. It was a lesson for Freya Stone.
Later, Freya was brought back to Urbora City, and Elijah had her confined. When she woke up, the surroundings were pitch dark. She didn’t know where she was or how long she had been unconscious. There was a scent of blood on her, mixed with the lingering fragrance of breast milk. She was still in her postpartum period, producing milk without a baby to feed. Her throat was so dry that she couldn’t make a sound. Her entire body was in unbearable pain.
Freya opened her eyes in despair. She knew that falling into Elijah’s hands would not lead to a good outcome but she didn’t want to die. Her child already had no father; she couldn’t let it grow up without a mother. She tried to move her body.
Just then, the iron door suddenly opened. She looked up through her disheveled hair and saw Linda. It seemed like a glimmer of hope.
“Linda…”
Linda placed the food in front of her without saying much, casting a sympathetic glance, but avoiding more words. She then left.
Freya wanted to say more, but the door was closed again. She was enveloped in darkness again. Sinking into despair, Freya had no strength to eat. She didn’t know how much time had passed in this state.
Elijah returned, standing in the living room unbuttoning his shirt. Seemingly casual, he asked, “Is she obedient?”
“Yes, but she hasn’t eaten anything I brought. She seems unwell.” Replied Linda.
Elijah’s face remained cold. “As long as she doesn’t die.”
His anger couldn’t dissipate so quickly.
This woman had gone to great lengths to escape.
He locked her up to see if she would still try to run!
Linda hesitated. “I saw that she’s injured. If we don’t give her treatment, it might be life-threatening?”
“No need to care for her.” He said and went upstairs.
Linda didn’t dare to act on her own. She sighed deeply. Even though she felt sorry for Freya, she didn’t dare to defy Elijah. Moreover, she thought that Freya was at fault in this matter.
How could she just run away like that?
Elijah had been angry during the months Freya was missing, and Liora Valentine had found opportunities to get close to him. Even though Elijah ignored her, she still sent food every day, trying to please him and hoping to become the lady of the house.
Today was no exception.
“Miss Valentine, you know Mr Silverton doesn’t want to see you. Please leave.” Said Linda.
Liora refused to give up. “Did Elijah say that, or is it your own opinion?”
“Mr Silverton has said it many times. Do I need to ask again?” Linda directly shut her down. She didn’t like Liora Valentine’s persistent attitude, like a sticky plaster.
As if she could still stick to Master Elijah after he had clearly expressed his dislike.
What a shameless woman.
“Miss Valentine, Mr Silverton is already married, so please stop coming here.” Linda really didn’t like seeing her.NôvelDrama.Org © content.
Liora persisted, “I know, but Freya Stone has been missing. What if she doesn’t come back?”
“Our lady has returned, so please stop coveting a married man.” Linda closed the door after saying this.
When Linda was about to throw the food into the trash as usual, she hesitated, deciding to take the good ingredients to the basement to supplement Freya’s health.
Liora Valentine was stunned when she heard that Freya Stone had returned, frozen in place for a moment, lost in her thoughts. Seeing Linda come out, she immediately grabbed her arm, “Is what you said true? Freya Stone is back?”
“Mr Silverton personally went to bring her back. How could it be false?”
Liora Valentine’s hand slowly tightened. Why hadn’t Freya Stone died outside? Why did she have to appear?
She was convinced that as long as Freya wasn’t there, Elijah would eventually be moved by her and accept her.
This woman should disappear forever!
Then, no one would stand between her and Elijah!
She made up her mind and put on a gentle face, “Linda, I’ll leave first.”
Linda ignored her. Carrying things, she walked towards the back of the villa. Freya was confined in a dim and damp storage room next to the underground garage.
Linda opened the door, placed food in front of her, and said with concern, “Madam, eat something, or you’ll starve.”
Freya was already on the brink of consciousness. She felt like she was going to die. She didn’t even have the strength to speak.
Seeing her condition, Linda decided to plead with Elijah on her behalf. “Madam, don’t be confused in the future, don’t anger Mr Silverton again, and don’t run away. I’ll go find him now to intercede for you.”
Freya saw a glimmer of hope, grabbed Linda’s pants, and struggled to say two words, “Thank you…”
Linda sighed. She got up and walked out of the storage room.
Liora Valentine, who had followed Linda, saw her leave and stealthily entered, wanting to see who Linda had given the things to. As she approached, she saw Freya Stone lying on the ground, barely alive.
Her eyes lit up.
So, Elijah didn’t really like Freya Stone that much.
If he did, why would he lock her up like an animal?
She walked in quietly and called out, “Freya Stone?”
Freya raised her head with difficulty. In the light coming in from outside, Liora Valentine could clearly see the filthy figure before her and couldn’t help but laugh, “Freya Stone, you’ve come to this.”
“How… it’s you.” Freya frowned, her pale face filled with surprise.
She didn’t expect Liora Valentine to appear.
Liora squatted in front of her, a look of determination in her eyes, “Since you’ve disappeared, you might as well disappear completely. Stop seducing Elijah.”
Before she could finish her sentence, she forcefully grabbed Freya’s neck.
At this moment, Freya had no strength to struggle. Seeing her success was imminent, Liora Valentine excitedly said, “Freya Stone, I really have to thank you. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have any connection with Elijah. Thank you for covering for me that night, making him believe I was you. Don’t blame me, though. It will remain a secret forever only if you die. Elijah will never know that it was you that night…”
Before she could finish her words, there was a click.
The light came on.
The dim room instantly became as bright as day.
Liora turned abruptly, only to see Elijah standing at the door.
