Sixteen
Sixteen
Was this a date?
What should I wear?
A dress? Something formal?
Ugh what was I wasting my time on?
This was so tough.
Finally after throwing out all of the clothes from my cupboard, I decided on a ripped jeans with a violet
top.
I let my hair down , the natural wavy it was and didn't bother with the makeup shit. I was far better
without it.
As seven o clock approached there was a knock on the door.
"Luna, Alpha is waiting for you in the car." A girl informed me.
I grabbed my phone and purse, rushing downstairs towards the car. Dorian was sitting there, his hands
firmly gripping the wheel.
I sat in the car and he started driving. The silence had its own melody and thats why no one decided to
speak. Dorian was holding my hand and tracing the lines on them slowly.
Half an hour passed and we reached a bare place in the forest.
I looked at Dorian giving him a questioning look.
We both got out of the car. Dorian kept a hand firmly at my back as we passed the trees. Soon we
reached a place where there were no trees but beauty.
A table was placed in the center lined with white roses and had a variety of food placed on it. The trees
were lit with red lights giving the place a breath taking view.
We sat on the table.
"What was that you wanted to talk about?" I asked. It was the first time I had talked since this whole
time.
"First eat"
The silence was eating me.
I slowly dig in the amazing food enjoying every bite as it was the last, but I also kept stealing glances at
Dorian who seemed tensed about something.
Soon my plate was empty.
I looked at Dorian who was staring at me. He bought his hands towards mine and intervined our
fingers. Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
"Look Sydney the thing that I am going to tell you right now is maybe too much for you but you need to
understand that how important this is for us and our pack."
"When the beta and the alpha find their mate and have marked them, they need to mate before the
next full moon."
I tensed.
"When's the full moon?" I asked, my voice a hoarse whisper.
"Next week."
My heart clenched.
"However, according to the tradition of our pack I bought you here. You will have to cut your skin and
put your blood on that tree over there and I would do the same. It would show that the alpha and Luna
are ready to mate and face any difficulty."
I looked at the oak tree. It had blood marks on various parts of it.
"Then tomorrow as per tradition, the beta and alpha will go to the mating trip for 5 days to the mating
island where no one can disturb them"
I pulled my hand back from Dorians grip.
"I understand you Dorian but I cannot do this. Mating means having pups and I am not at all ready. I
cannot do this. No, never!" I sobbed.
He stood up from his chair an raked a hand through his hair in frustration.
"Why the hell don't you understand that you fucking have no choice in this?" He growled.
I sank low in my chair.
"Listen to me mate, don't test my patience. It would be better if you go to the mating trip with me
tomorrow or otherwise I will take you right now. You will go to the mating trip and have my pups. Do you
understand?" His voice was a deadly calm.
I shivered but did not reply.
"Do you understand?" He growled using the alpha tone with me.
"Yes" I let out a weak whisper.
"Better."
Dorian bought a knife and cut my skin from the wrist. Droplets of blood fell on his hand. He gave me
the knife and I did the same to his wrist.
He mixed our blood with the tip of his finger and put it on the trunk of the tree.
This mark would remain forever.
