Alpha's Second Chance

When we woke up this morning, I was nervous. I don't know why, but I think it is because we are meeting with Alpha Alexander. Meeting him today could also lead to finding out where Mia is and ending my search for her. I am restless and pacing around and can not find peace until Enzo comes out from the bathroom and stops

me.

"Are you okay?" He asks me, and I nod my head but don't say anything.

"Beautiful, look at me." He says as he makes me look at him.

"You forget that I can't feel what you feel." He says, looking closely at me.

"It can all end today, I can find out where she is," I whisper.

"You won't be alone, and I will be right there with you." He promises and kisses

me.

"Thank you," I whisper, and go to get my things so we can leave the room.

We walk downstairs, and when we step into the lobby, a woman standing by the checking desk sees us.

"Princess." She addresses me when she sees me.

"Just call me Rose, please," I say and smile, and she smiles back.

"Watcher Dario and Alpha Alexander are waiting in the private dinner room. I was asked to bring you and your mate there when you came down." The woman says.

"Thank you," I say, and we follow her into a room.

Five men are already in here waiting for us. I recognize Dario, who is sitting at the table. Across from him is a younger guy, younger than me, and at the end of the table, the biggest one of them all sits. I know that this is Alpha Alexander, and the last two guys are standing by the wall. Dario gets up and smiles at us.

"Ah, here you are. Come sit down, as you must have guessed, this is Alpha Alexander. The two by the wall is his beta and his brother, the young man here is a guest by Alpha Alexander." Dario says without giving the name of the last one.

"Alpha, it's a pleasure to meet you, and I want to thank you again for trying to help," I tell him, and he stands up.

"Princess, I thought we had agreed to no titles," he said with a smile, and I laughed.

"I am simply trying to be respectful in front of your men," I say, and he laughs.

"Well, stop that. Sit down so we can all speak. I take it that this is your mate. I spoke with your father, and he told me you had found your mate here in Italy." Alpha Alex says as he sits down again.

"Yes, something none of us had expected," I say as we sit down.

"I came here for two reasons, of course, to wish you a proper welcome, and as you know, I have found someone who might be of help to find your mother." He says as he looks at me

"I would prefer that we pronounce her by name, not as my mother. She does not deserve that title." I ask and I see the young man look at me shortly.

"Alright," Alex says and looks at the man.

"This is Michael, your brother," Alex says, and I am shocked.

"What? Is your mother Mia?" I ask the young man.

"Yes, she is. Sadly." Michael says and looks at me.

"How old are you?" I ask him.

"Sixteen." He says, and I look at him.

"Did she send you?" I ask.

"No, she does not know that you are here. I do not live with her." He tells me. "Why not?" I ask.

"As you know, she is not the best mother. I moved away three years ago, and I have been working and training at Alpha Alexander's mansion," he tells me, and I nod my head.

"Do you know where she is?" I finally ask.

"Yes. I talk to her every second week. She... has a busy job." He says.

I don't say anything more but sit back and think. I have a brother l knew nothing about before today. Apparently, Mia has not become a better mom, and Alpha Alexander has been taking care of him.

"I knew I had a sister, but she said that you were dead. And that it is why she came here. She always says it's because the past scares her, that she is not a good mother.” He says, and I look at him.

"She left me when I was two months old. My dad raised me along with his mate,

who is my mom. Not biological, but she took care of me." I say.

"I am sorry." He says.

"I had a good childhood, but she left my soul broken. That is why I came here to find her, and I wanted answers. But I met Enzo, and finding out we are mates, it healed me." I say softly.

"I can take you to her if you want me to." Michael offers.

"Is she close?" I ask.

"She is in Rome, so it is easier to find work. She says." He says, and I get the feeling he is hiding something.

"What are you trying not to tell me?” I ask him, and he looks at Alpha Alexander.

"Rose, your... I mean. Mia works by selling herself as a prostitute." Alex told me, and I was a little shocked.

"I know it is a shock, but there is no easy way of telling something like that." He says.

"No, I guess not. But thank you for being honest." I say.

"But I need tonight to think. It's a lot to take in. I found out I have another brother and learned about how she lives her life.

"That is true. Then I think we all take the day to think and we can meet here for breakfast in in morning." Alex say.

"Yes, that is a good idea. Thank you. Have a good day." I agree.

"Good day, and if you need anything, let me know," Dario says, and I thank him.

Enzo and I leave to go to our room, and when we enter, I sit on the bed, and tears start falling.
