Back in Time: Unshackling From Love (Mikayla Davidson)

Chapter 269

Chapter 269

“I’m fine. I just want to get some medicine,” Mikayla replied.

“What kind of medicine do you need? Let Mike buy it and have it sent to the villa,” Jerome suggested.

Mikayle’s cheeks turned red. She cleared her throat and said, “It’s inconvenient for him to do so. I’ll buy it

myself.”

From her reaction, Jerome could guess what was going on.

His gaze darkened. He said with mixed emotions, “The hotel had the supplies last night.”

Mikayla understood what he meant. He took precaution.

She felt a sense of relief. What happened last night was an accident. There mustn’t be anymore accidents.

Jerome saw her relieved expression and the anger within him resurfaced.

“Didn’t you hint to me before that you wanted to have a child with me?” Jerome asked.

Mikayla replied. “This was what I thought back then. Let’s not bring up the past.”

Jerome fell silent.

When they arrived at Dragoncrest Villa, Jerome stopped her when she was about to get out of the car.

He told her to stay put. He then opened the door and then lifted her out of the car.

“What are you doing?” Mikayla was surprised.

“You’re walking too slow,” Jerome replied.

Mikayla didn’t know what to say.

Given how much he “tortured” her last night, she was doing very well to cope with everything that

happened.

She let Jerome carry her into the house.

When Amy saw them, she looked relieved. Then she went about her own tasks.

Mikayla could only turn a blind eye and let Jerome carry her upstairs.

She covered the marks on her neck with foundation and put on decent makeup.

She changed into a high–necked dress and paired it with a coat.

She looked refreshed instantly/There was no sign of exhaustion on her face.

When they arrived at the Millér Manor, it was already late afternoon.

Jerome wanted to carry her out of the car again, but Mikayla stopped him. “I’ll walk by myself.”

If she let Jerome carry her in with so many people around, it would attract a lot of attention. Since they

were about to be divorced, she wanted to keep a low profile.

Jerome pursed his lips and extended his arm for her to hold onto.

Mikayla didn’t refuse him.

As they walked into the outdoor banque in the front yard, several relatives of the Miller family were already there. They were chatting with Zachary.

After the guests noticed their arrival, many of them turned their gazes toward them.

After all, Jerome was the CEO of the Miller family. The relatives came over to greet them and exchange

pleasantries.

At the same time, Zachary’s gaze fell on them. All content is © N0velDrama.Org.

Jerome led Mikayla to Zachary,

Mikayla politely greeted, “Dad.”

Zachary seemed dissatisfied with her for some reason. He frowned as he was about to speak.

“Zachary.” A gentle voice sounded from behind.

This very voice made Mikayla nauseous. She turned around and saw Kylie.

She was wearing a very elegant dress, and her makeup was exquisite

It seemed like the incident a few days ago had not impacted her. She still wore a gentle smile on her face.

“Mr. Miller, Mrs. Miller,” Kylie greeted them.

Jerome nodded while Mikayla kept a cold face and ignored her.

Mikayla thought about the incident at Lakeville and clenched her fists. She wanted to expose Kylie’s true

intentions so badly.

“Kylie, why do you sound so polite? Zachary’s frown deepened when he heard how Kylie addressed Jerome. “Weren’t you and Jerome always close?”
