Chapter 1197
As thousands of indescribable emotions merged into the longing glance, Lauren's lips curved slightly into a deliberately provocative smile. It wasn't until their eyes clearly met that she strode toward the exit.
As though struck by lightning, Willy jumped up from the barstool reflexively, even nearly pushing Lacie to the ground with his boorish action.
"Laurie?"
In disbelief, Willy took a couple of unconscious steps, as though a messenger summoned by the Lord, as he mumbled with glazed eyes.
"Ah..."
Lacie needily grabbed his arms right as she screamed. "Master Bowels? What's wrong?"
Brought back to reality that instant, Willy could clearly see the familiar red dress disappearing at the exit. It was that familiar figure!
His eyes weren't playing tricks on him!
As his eyes widened, he shoved Lacie aside and rushed to the exit. "Laurie!"
Seeing Willy stumble toward the exit the moment he turned from the aisle on the side, Carson chased after him.
"Hey, Willy, where are you going?"
She had studied the floorplan of the bar before coming and had done the necessary preparations, so as soon as Lauren caught Willy's attention, she turned to the self-service cloakroom instead of leaving in a hurry. Using the dim lighting as a cover-up, she took out the black windbreaker she stored in the cloakroom beforehand.
She then walked out wearing a sun hat but was stumped for a couple of seconds when she looked up to see a familiar tall figure rushing out the exit. She then regained her senses as another tall figure strode past her and walked casually out after lowering her hat.
As she made her way to the parking lot aside and opened the car door, her gaze landed inadvertently on that figure barging around like a headless chicken for a couple of seconds.
So, he still remembered her, didn't he?
No, maybe he didn't; he probably only missed that lump in her belly!
But anyhow, what mattered was that he still cared!
His reaction pleased her!
As she smirked bitterly, she entered the car. "Willy Bowels, the person you messed with has returned! This time I'll let you have a taste of your own medicine!" she thought.
Lauren clenched the steering wheel as hatred flashed across her eyes. Then she started the engine.
Meanwhile, after exiting the nightclub, Willy, so anxious that he started sweating, searched high and low several times but never saw the familiar figure again.
Where was she?noveldrama
She couldn't have disappeared just like that!
He then grabbed the security guard on patrol and asked with his voice unconsciously raised, "Did you see a woman in a red dress leave? She left just a few minutes ago!"
A little lost, the security guard shook his head. "Red dress? No!"
"What do you mean 'no'? Aren't you exclusively guarding the door?!"
Were his eyes only for display? What was the point of him being stationed there when he couldn't even see a living, breathing adult?! Willy shoved him away frantically and wanted to turn to another security guard when he crashed into Carson.
"Oh my!"
The rebound was so strong that the two stumbled a few steps back. Carson's breathing fluctuated and even dizzy as he rubbed his painful forehead. "Willy, why are you in such a hurry? You can't even hear me calling to you..."
"I saw her! I really saw her!"
Willy exclaimed as he spun around, not daring to blink for fear that he'd miss catching her. But Carson grabbed his wrist the moment he took a step. "Who are you talking about?"
"Laurie! Laurie! I saw her!"
Willy shoved his hand away and charged to higher ground, only to find the space empty. There wasn't even a single soul.
He had clearly lost his composure, like a cat on a hot tin roof, and Carson naturally noticed it. Though shocked, he looked around and grabbed Willy's arm again.
"Willy, have you had one too many?"
Knowing he had been searching for Lauren in the past year, Carson's instinct told him that his friend's scurries couldn't be judged using an average person's mentality anymore.
"No! No! I barely even had a drink! I really saw her, Carson. I'd recognize her anywhere! It's Laurie; it's her!
Though her hair's longer and
dress a little different, her look has been engraved in here. How can I possibly be wrong?"
Willy exclaimed as he pounded his chest, clearly annoyed.
Though not in a hurry to defend himself, Carson blocked his path, seeing Willy rush again.
"Willy, you said it yourself; she's a little different. Knowing Lauren, would she come to a place like this?"
His words were like a wet blanket, rendering him despondent.
She was so sensible and quiet, a bookworm. She rarely even watched the TV; there was no way she'd come to such a noisy place.
But that face...
However, Carson spoke his mind just as Willy looked up.
"People look alike! Even if it really is her, and you haven't had one too many and saw what you saw, do you need to worry she'll run away when she'd showed up? You might find something if you look at the
ve
surveillance or ask the
bar instead of running around like a headless chicken here!"
The parking lot by the entrance was only that big, and it was so spacious that nothing obstructed their vision. It would've been obvious if there really was a beautiful woman in a red dress!
Subconsciously, Carson was sure Willy missed her so much that he was hallucinating!
His unintentional words enlightened Willy, and he came to his senses in an instant. "Yes! That woman..."
Willy turned around and rushed back, "Get a copy of the surveillance footage for me!"
She was talking to a woman just now. That woman must know her!
Just as Millie jumped down from the barstool, her target locked, Willy, who ran back to the hall in one breath, grabbed her wrist. "Where's the woman you talked to just now? That was Lauren, wasn't it? Where is she? Tell me!"
"What are you talking about? Let me go!"
Seeing that her target was heading toward the exit, Millie grew anxious. "I'm in a hurry! What are you doing? Let go of me!'
Her headline, her news!
"Where's that woman?"

Anxious to learn anything about Lauren, Willy held a death grip on her, while Millie wanted nothing more than to be able to run away worried about her scoop. With the two having different intentions, they were entangled for a long time, and none was willing to give int
