Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1673

She couldn't get over it, she couldn't!

After pacing around the room several times, Waverly's glance fell on the clock on the wall again. "Only five minutes passed?"

Sh*t, why was the time as slow as the crawling of a snail?noveldrama

Picking up the phone, Waverly called Wyatt. "Sorry. The number you've dialed is unavailable. Please call again later. Sorry..."

Slapping her forehead, Waverly's highly pouted mouth was like a hook. Couldn't he hear the phone?

She opened her WhatsApp and sent him another message. "Hubby, when will you be back? I can't sleep."

The first half of the sentence was in a coquettish tone. The next second, the subject changed before Waverly bellowed, "Are you waiting to get a beating? Hurry up and call me back!"

As she released her finger, Waverly burst into a fit of giggles. "Hahaha..."

What would others think if they heard it? As soon as she thought of Wyatt's darkened face, Waverly found it amusingly funny. After the laugh settled in, the cold silence struck her once more, which froze all the smiles on her lips.

"You're so annoying!"

Why wouldn't he come back earlier? The more trouble she had to deal with, the more she wanted to meet him, yet why wouldn't he answer the phone?

After waiting for a while and seeing that there was no reply, Waverly's displeasure surged. She glanced at the clock on the wall again with her glossy red lips pursed.

It was almost time, wasn't it?

The more she thought about it, the more impatient Waverly grew. In the blink of an eye, she rushed to the closet and changed into a set of new clothes.

Starlite, wasn't it? She would pick him up!

"Wyatt, Wyatt, look at how good I am. It's so late, yet a woman is getting ready to pick you up!" Waverly mumbled. She gathered her hair and smeared some lipstick on her mouth. Looking at her gorgeous self in the mirror, she nodded in satisfaction.

Beautiful!

After turning around narcissistically, she put on her long coat and walked out of the door.

Since she was heading over to pick him up, Waverly did not drive, but directly grabbed a taxi. On the way, she checked her mobile phone several times, but she saw no reply and no phone calls. She guessed that he must be busy, which explained why he did not check his phone for messages, nor did he return the call. When she almost arrived at the destination, she glanced at her mobile phone once again and paid the bill before getting out of the car with a cup of boba tea in hand.

"Thank you..."

Turning around to glance at her, the taxi driver noticed that she was beautiful without heavy makeup or revealing clothes on, so he kindly reminded her, "The nightclub is chaos. It's late, so you, a beautiful girl, should pay attention to safety. If you have nothing else to do, go home early!"

Waverly's heart felt warm when she received the concern of a stranger all of a sudden. Waving, she bid goodbye with a smile on her lips. "Thank you for your advice. I'm here to pick my husband up. I'll get out of this place soon!"

After watching the taxi disappear into the distance, Waverly took a sip of boba tea and walked to the entrance of Starlite. With her eyebrows arched and eyes curved in smiles, she trotted along, which showed that she was in an excellent mood.

"It makes sense for me to pick you up when I'm out here to buy a cup of boba tea, isn't it?"

After another small sip, Waverly's mind remained filled with a warm scene.

He must be able to guess, judging from how she took the taxi! Yet, it didn't matter. She had found an excuse. How could he not give her a way out? If he wasn't grateful, she would poke him to death!

Although she said so, Waverly had some concerns about her beloved. She was afraid that if he was busy, her appearance would mess things up. She dared not to make a judgment on the importance of a career to men. As her pace slowed down, she was suddenly reminded of the incident between Victoria and Trevor. That scene was indeed too moving. How many men could abandon their careers for their partner? Not to mention how thriving the development of Trevor's career was!

Envy lingered in her heart. Looking around, she wondered if she should go searching for his car to determine whether Wyatt was around. Meanwhile, she could spend more time waiting. If he showed up during that period, it would be better. If he did not, he would not be going too far by entering the club to search for him, would she?

At least, she should be able to overcome the hurdle in her heart!

Just as her feet shifted, at the door in the distance, one after another, two figures dashed out and entered her sight. All of a sudden, Waverly came to an abrupt stop before blinking hard.

Wyatt and Raynee?

What was going on?

With a loud buzz in her head, the cup of boba tea fell to the ground. Waverly did not notice it at all. How could that happen? Was Wyatt chasing after Raynee? Did he chase her? He grabbed her wrist, and hugged her?

Even if they were together, shouldn't their roles be reversed?

She could not believe her eyes, but there was still a long distance between them, not to mention how the two of them had run out of the club all the way to the other side, walking and pausing, so she could not hear what they were saying and could only watch as the two of them tugged and shoved. It was such an intimate sight. Waverly's mind went blank before she lifted her leg to chase after the two.

Running after Raynee all the way, Wyatt tried to hold her back. "Raynee, wait! Don't run anymore! Your leg is injured! The doctor said that if you do any strenuous exercise, your leg may end up disabled!"

"Calm down! Don't be impulsive..."

Whenever he reached out to hold her, however, she would shake him off. Bawling and screaming, Raynee was evidently overwhelmed.

"How can I calm down? Tell me, how can I calm down? I spent my whole life

dancing. Aside from dancing being my career, dancing is life! For dancing, I have given up everything through the years. Food, pregnancy, relationships, and I even lost you!"

Raynee cried like crazy.

"I'm not gifted and am unlucky, so I accept my defeat! Now you're telling me that there's a conspiracy behind all this? It's not that I'm not good enough, but someone played tricks on me behind my back. Someone ruined my everything. How can I calm down?" "I love the stage, but now I can't even touch the edge of it! I used to stand on the stage everyone looks up to. Now, I have to work part-time in this place to do what I like and earn mearge living expenses! Even so, I will be picked on and looked down upon by others! Do you understand the feeling of crashing from the sky to the ground? Pina ruined me! It was Pina who schemed against me!"

"Twenty years! I've been working on dancing for more than twenty years! I wasn't required to experience all this, but now I know that someone is plotting against me behind my back, how can I tolerate all this? I'm going to get even with her! I'm going to kill her! She ruined me! I won't let her go!"

Although Raynee staggered from time to time, she could not control her emotions. All the makeup on her face was ruined. Influenced by her sorrow, Wyatt was equally helpless. All he could do was hold her down and shout.

"Raynee! What's the use of going over now? Can you get your legs back or

change your current situation? Do you want to sacrifice your life for such a sc*m?

Is it worth it?" "You'll only cause your loved ones to suffer and satisfy your enemies! What's the point of sacrificing yourself?"

All of a sudden, they realized that the reason for her loss every time was not entirely her cause, but also a result of the referee being bribed, or her clothes soaked with knockout powder. Although it would not do great harm to her body, as long as she was in a daze, she would not be able to perform properly. In addition to her personal reasons, more reasonable human factors could explain her consistent mistakes.

Over time, she grew habitually nervous on the stage. It seemed to explain why she would always excel in practices and win minor awards, but at the critical moment, she often lost her forefoot.

Listening to the conversation between the two men just then, it was clear that it was not the first time, but all sorts of means were manipulated by the person behind the scene for every major contest she participated in, including money and beauty.

One minute on the stage required ten years of practice off stage. Wyatt sympathized with her experience, but through such a long time, she hadn't found anything out of the ordinary. Was the other party too meticulous or her too foolish? At the moment, Wyatt had no idea what to say about her. Every time she failed, she had never searched for the cause. Had she never thought of acting according to the situation? Was she too persistent or stubborn? Such an encounter was indeed regrettable and sad!

Yet, the world was unfair in the first place. Right then as things had come to that

point, Wyatt had nothing to say. It would be fine if she didn't know about it. Seeing her optimistic and diligent mindset, her life would be brilliant. Since she learned about it right then, it must be a heavy blow to her.

Wyatt could understand that she was so overwhelmed and out of control. Right then, he could not bear to expose that things might not be as simple as she thought. Someone must have been plotting against her all the time. Else, how could she fail at the crucial moment during all those years? How talented must the other party be to succeed all the time?

Plus, the Pina they mentioned. He

hove

believed she might succeed in bribing judges who did not have a strong will once, but with how she had always been able to find breakthrough point and be successful in winning a backhander, it was inevitably suspicious. How could a single person's strength accomplish such a feat? If she did have the ability to do so, would she need to desperately practice dancing to make a fortune? Wouldn't

she make a fortune through

business?

Knowing that she could not take in any of his words at the moment, Wyatt dared

not point it out, for fear that once he did so, she would go further out of control.

There were times when the words would reach the tip of his tongue, but Wyatt swallowed them down.

"That's enough, that's enough! Don't cry.

Everything will be over. Everything will be fine."

When Waverly approached, she witnessed such a scene. Raynee cried out of breath, while Wyatt held and comforted her in a soft, gentle voice...
