Chapter 1685
Hearing that an honored guest was driving a luxury car over, the housekeeper quickly came out with people to welcome him. When he saw a stranger, he was obviously stunned and nodded casually with a smile.
"May I ask what you need help with?"
Although he came out in front of his own house, he saw that the license plate was not local and was very unfamiliar with it. The butler was afraid that he was thinking too much. He took the wrong way, so he was a little humble.
Wyatt was here to ask for forgiveness, so he didn't know what was going on. He nodded and greeted them, "Hello!"
Subconsciously, he had determined that Waverly's father might be a servant, but he also felt that it was inappropriate for him to say that he was looking for the servants in the mansion. After thinking for a while, Wyatt continued,
"May I ask if there is a person with the last name Castle here?"
"Huh?"
After a pause, the housekeeper said, "This is the old house of the Castle family. There are a few people with the last name Castle. Are you here to visit our master or...?"
"No, no! I'm here for Mr. Castle. He looks about 50 years old. His daughter is Waverly..."
For a moment, he did not think of Abel's name. Wyatt waved his hand, afraid that someone would misunderstand that he was here to curry favor with her. He had just wanted to ask him, "Do you know this person?" His mind was still thinking about how to explain before he could understand. If he wanted to point out Waverly's identity of "a little widow", the butler couldn't help but laugh out loud before Wyatt had cleared his mind.
"Isn't that our Old Master and Miss? We have two Misses, Miss Waverly, and Miss Cecilia. Sir, you are?"
The butler looked at him up and down in confusion. He felt that he was very goodlooking and had an extraordinary temperament. He seemed to be either a rich or a noble man. However, his words seemed contradictory. For a moment, he was not sure what was going on.
The next second, Wyatt exclaimed, "Huh?"
Suddenly, his eyes focused on the magnificent mansion behind him. "Waverly is the eldest daughter of the Castle family? Is she the daughter of a rich and powerful family?"
No wonder she could afford to live in a mansion and drive a sports car with such a low salary in Casterwich City, and occasionally be generous.
No wonder when her mansion was broken into, she didn't even flinch, and she didn't worry about losing anything!
No wonder she could buy seven houses in one go!
No wonder sometimes he felt that she was spoiled.
He had never known that her family was so rich. He always thought that she was rich because she relied on the marriage of a rich family and became a widow! Since she was so capable, why did she beg for Franklin? Since she was the daughter of a rich family, she was thought to be vain. Why didn't she refute it? Even he always thought that she chose to marry an old man for money due to limited conditions, then bore the title of a widow.
Now that he thought about it, he was wrong. They were all wrong!
Her family was so powerful that she could not be looked down upon. Why didn't she mention it? And the last time he saw her father, he was the cleaner in the hotel lobby!
As memories flooded into his mind, Wyatt was in a mess. Had he never really understood her?
Was it because he cared too little about her, or was it because she had never revealed her true feelings towards him, so she had always kept her family background a secret and never mentioned it?
While his mind was still in a mess, Wyatt instinctively took out his business card and handed it over. "Is Waverly here? I want to see her! Can you help me report it?"
Taking over the business card, the housekeeper dropped his eyes in shock and said with more respect, "It's the famous Mr. Johnson. I've heard a lot about you! Please allow me to tell you—"
Although the inside story was limited, Wyatt's name was not unfamiliar to the butler. He didn't dare to let anyone in rashly. He called first and then turned back.
"Mr. Johnson, please come inside!"
After entering through the gates, Wyatt became even more nervous. Everything he saw was beyond his expectations. Every step he took felt like the tip of a needle, and he felt as if he was getting closer to Waverly.
When he entered the living room and saw the old man who looked cold, strange and familiar, his heart was about to jump out of his throat. He stepped forward and gave his father a respectful bow.
"Mr. Castle="
He was already feeling guilty, and at this moment, he felt even more ashamed to face the old man. He didn't expect that they would meet for the first time in such a situation. The first time was to apologize, and this time it was to ask for forgiveness.
He didn't ask them to get up. Abel waved his hand and said, "All of you can leave!"
Abel's low voice was cold and distant, giving people a strange sense of alienation. Suddenly, Wyatt's heart trembled, and a bad feeling arose.
Sure enough, in the next second, the cold voice sounded. "Mr. Johnson, what can I do for you?"
Looking up, Wyatt's eyes flashed with astonishment. "Mr. Castle, I—"
"Don't dare!"
The two words suddenly interrupted Wyatt and they looked at each other. He knew that the old man was angry this time.
Wyatt immediately knelt down.
"Sir, I'm sorry. I failed to do what I promised you. I hurt Waverly! I'm a b*stard! But
I really didn't mean to. Can I please see Waverly? Can I have a few words with
her?"
Looking down from a height, he had never been so aggressive. Even though he felt uncomfortable, Abel did not move his feet. "The first time was unintentional. Do you think I will still believe it the second time?"
In fact, he didn't know what had happened between them. But Waverly came back
at midnight, and she didn't bring anything with her. She just said that she came back after breaking up with him. Although he gritted his teeth and said nothing, Abel knew that his daughter must have been wronged.
His daughter needed nothing but love. But at the same time, besides love, nothing could hurt her so much!
"Uncle, it's my fault. It's my fault. I was wrong"
No matter what the situation was or
what the reason was, he shouldn't have left her behind! He clenched his fists a few times and felt as if his. heart was being bitten by tens of thousands of ants. Wyatt's regret and emotion could not be described with words, but it seemed that there was nothing better than knowing that she was still alive, which made him feel happy. Life was worse than death. Maybe that was what he felt now! He was really willing to exchange everything for her!
"Since you know you're wrong, then you should go!" Waving his hand, Abel coldly
drove him away.
"Uncle! Please let me see her, okay?"
"There's no need! I know my daughter! You don't need to apologize or ask for her forgiveness. It's her decision! Since she chose to leave, you're no longer qualified! You've failed again and again, she has given you more than one chance!"
The implication was that he wasn't even worthy of hatred!
It was his daughter's fault for being too stubborn, especially with the things she loved, no matter human beings or things. If she wanted something, she could not
be stopped. She had to experience it personally and get hurt, only then she would never look back!
Just like the year when she was with Franklin, he wasn't interested in delaying their marriage, yet he couldn't resist her liking. Even though his money was stuck, she could still think of ways to help him. If it weren't for the fact that she was hurt by his betrayal, he believed that even if she was unlucky enough to become a widow, she would protect him until a true love appeared. Perhaps it would never appear again for three to five years.
Down to her bones, she was full of fantasy about love. Since childhood, they protected her so well. Love was very ample, but the reality was too cruel!noveldrama
It was also that he shouldn't have shown his love, yearning, and regret for his ex- wife again and again in front of his daughter. He shouldn't have told her some beautiful love stories from childhood, which made the idea that love was equal to happiness deeply rooted in her mind.
"Go home!"
Turning around, Abel went straight to the stairs on one side and said, "You won't have another chance! Housekeeper, see off the guests!"
In the end, Wyatt and the driver were kicked out. He had never been in such a mess like this in his life. Looking at the mansion in front of him, an iron door became a gap that he could not cross.
In the following days, Wyatt stood outside the door of the Castle house, waiting all
the time. He didn't do any tricks. He just wanted to see Waverly, to see if she was okay. So, every day he stayed at the door, either in the car or outside the car. When he heard any movement, he would look inside and out. He believed that she would go out one day and he would see her one day.
It was the thing he regretted the most that he didn't reach out to her that day. After this near death separation, he understood
how
important she was to him. The met
he knew, the more pain he felt. He knew very well that God gave her a chance to live this time, but it also
killed all his previous efforts and opportunities in the future. He might regret this mistake for the rest of his life.
The more it was so, the more heartbroken he felt, the more he wanted to say something to her personally.
He longed to see her, but he was a little afraid to see her. How could he match up
to her idea of love?
He looked up at the mansion in front of him every day, but Wyatt was like a
beggar in front of a palace. No one knew how he felt.
Each day, he would see people at the door. One day, after dinner, he looked up in
the direction of the door and followed his sight. Harry said directly,
"It's been a week. Day and night, rain and shine!"
He didn't know whether to say that he was affectionate or heartless!
His face obviously softened. After a long time, Abel said, "You go out and send
him away! Alas, love is the most difficult thing to say-"
What do you think?
