My husband Ex 114

ONE YEAR LATER

Days had turned into weeks, weeks had turned into months, and the months had turned into a full year, but the bouquet of flowers, boxes of chocolates, and romantic letters never stopped coming. Not even for a single day in the entire year.

With the amount of effort Grey had put into his courtship, it was hard not to soften and fall for him even more-especially when he visited home every single day to continue what he called "courtship service," which included being a gardener, a car repairman, an electrician, a plumber, and sometimes a cleaner.

I once told him it wasn't necessary for him to do anything like that since we are in modern times. Men no longer woo women and their families by doing house chores, but Grey was stubborn and wouldn't stop. He told me it was his way of showing respect and dedication to me as his wife, so I allowed him to continue what he was doing and just enjoyed the

moment while he was at it.

After his ceaseless dedication, Grey's hard work finally bore fruit. When his thirtieth birthday came, I gave him the answer he had been waiting for. I told him I was now ready to marry him. He couldn't contain his joy at that moment. He held me by the waist and lifted me into the air as he shouted with joy, making everyone present that day smile at his

reaction.

"You make me the happiest man today," he whispered into my ear when he finally put me

down.

"I'm glad to know that," I told him, tears of joy flowing down my cheeks.

Grey pulled me into his arms. He didn't care if there were many people watching around us;

he kissed me hard on the lips. I placed my hands around his neck and kissed him even

harder.

The sound of cheers and shouts filled the room, followed by a round of applause

reverberating throughout the space.

Fast forward. Almost a week after his birthday, we began our wedding preparations. Everyone participated to help us, and it wasn't long before everything was accomplished in just a few weeks when I had expected it would take a month to plan such a grand church wedding. With Sophia and Philip, along with my grandmother and my brothers' connections, and especially with Grey's influence, it was not surprising that the wedding preparations sped up.

I already had my wedding gown, a stunning white lace gown I fell in love with the moment I set my eyes on it. Grey also had his elegant black tuxedo, which we got from the famous boutique where I bought my wedding gown.

The venue for the wedding was set, and the reception was decided to be held at La Paraiso Hotel, the very place where our love story all began.

The night before the wedding, Grey came to me to give his advance wedding gift, a beautiful diamond necklace to pair with my lace gown. But that was not the only reason he came to see me. He wanted to tell me he was nervous, which made me laugh, thinking it

was funny to hear that from him. His reaction, however, remained serious, and I swallowed my laughter to avoid hurting his feelings.

"Why would you be nervous?" I gently asked him, biting my lips afterward to keep a smile from appearing.

Grey sat beside me on the bed. Isabelle and Dylan were already asleep, so we kept our voices low to avoid waking them. He took my hand and wrapped it in his large one before he replied, "I'm afraid you will change your mind and realize you don't really want to marry me at all."

I would have laughed at his remark if he hadn't been serious.

"You have nothing to fear. Even if I change my mind tomorrow, I would not pull out of the wedding. Even if the wedding doesn't push through, we are still legally married," I told him.

Grey raised his head and gave me a sullen look. "It's not funny, Lily," he said, looking like a little boy whose teddy bear had been taken away from him.

I bit back a laugh and cleared my throat. "Just trying to make you feel better." "You are not making it better, instead."

"I'm not going to change my mind, love," I assured him. I cupped his cheeks with both of my hands, looked deep into his eyes, and whispered, "That's not going to happen. I love you... I really do... I will never do that to you."

He looked at me with a thoughtful expression on his face. "I love you too... Thank you for making me feel better." Grey placed my head on his shoulder. His arms encircled my waist, and in that intimate position, we watched our children as they slept on the bed.

The white bridal car pulled to a stop in front of the largest church in the country. The car door opened, and I stepped outside in my elegant white lace gown, holding a fresh bouquet of white roses in my gloved hands.

Sophia and Philip were already waiting for me in front of the church. They both smiled at me with tears in their eyes as I approached them. It was the first time they would ever see me get married, and I could see how happy they were. Father offered his arm, and I hooked my hand in his. Mom, on the other hand, stood beside me and held my arm, ushering me forward.

My heart skipped a beat as my gaze landed on the altar and found my groom eagerly waiting for me.

My pulse jittered with excitement, and my heartbeat quickened as though I'd been runningnoveldrama

a marathon.

I took a deep, calming breath and marched forward to where the love of my life was waiting

for me...

I felt like I was floating in the air as I slowly walked down the aisle and saw that Grey was waiting for me at the far end of the altar, a gentle smile tugging at the comers of his lips. Despite the tears smoothly flowing down my cheeks, I smiled back at my groom.

The heavenly sound coming from the orchestra filled every corner of the church, and there wasn't a single dry eye left among the guests.

This special day was the happiest day of my life, with my whole family present to witness this wonderful and heartfelt event. I could see everyone beaming at me, and it made my heart swell with immeasurable joy.

Right on the pew in front of the altar, I could see Cassandra and Lia, looking gorgeous in their long curly hair and pink tiaras. They were a part of my bridesmaids, who all looked like goddesses descending from Mount Olympus in their pink lace gowns.

In the center of Cassandra and Lia, my breathtaking Maid of Honor, Celine, sat, holding my daughter Isabelle in her arms.

My daughter looked so adorable in her pink dress, with a matching pink ribbon in her hair and pink shoes adorning her tiny feet. Isabelle's eyes were wide with excitement, and she kept wiggling in Celine's arms as she listened to the orchestra, which she seemed to be enjoying at the moment.

On the same pew, my ever-elegant grandmother Leilani sat like a queen. She indeed looked like a real queen in her pink satin gown. She wore a diamond diadem on her head, reminding me of the late Queen Elizabeth II with her chin held high. She saw me looking at

her and smiled.

Surrounding the four stunning women were six of my brothers, looking incredibly handsome in their gray tuxedos. My brothers were the groomsmen. Noticeably, every single woman inside the church-even married ones-couldn't help but cast them

admiring glances.

Then my gaze drifted to my ring bearer-none other than my son Dylan, who was seated beside Luis. My son saw me and waved at me. I raised my hand and gave him a flying kiss,

which made his lips stretch into a grin, revealing the deep cute dimples on both of

his

cheeks.

Finally, after what felt like forever, we reached the altar where my impatient groom was waiting. "Take good care of my daughter, Grey," Father said as he gave my hand to Grey. "Make her a happy woman. A happy wife is a happy life," he added. Grey grinned in response and whispered, "I will." He then placed my hand on his arm, and together we marched to the waiting priest so he could begin the ceremony.

Every single part of the ceremony was memorable to me, but it was actually during the exchange of rings that I melted and began to tear up again. I wasn't the only one; Grey's eyes were red and puffy, and he was obviously holding back tears, but he wasn't successful because what he felt showed in his eyes. "Lilibeth Phoenix, I give you this ring as a sign of my everlasting love, loyalty, and devotion," Grey began in a voice thick with emotion as he slowly slid the ring onto my finger. “This is an infinity ring, which signifies my undying love for you. Wear it with love and joy, for this infinity ring has no end, neither shall my love for you. I promise to protect you and make you happy in this lifetime. I want you to know that I love you, and I will continue to love you until we grow old." Tears fell down my cheeks at his words. Slowly, my gaze returned to his, and in a very soft voice, I said my wedding vows. "Greyson Bradford, I present you this infinity ring, a symbol of my ever-faithful love for you. I promise to love you, adore you, and take good care of you for the rest of our lives. I promise to cherish you and respect you all the time and be an understanding wife. I love you, and I shall keep on loving you with the same burning passion until we grow old." I slid the ring onto his finger, and when I raised my head to look at him, I saw tears sparkling at the corners of his eyes.

"Now that you both have committed yourselves to one another and to your Holy Union through the sacred vows that you have taken and by the giving and receiving of these rings, I now pronounce you husband and wife." "Those whom God has joined together may He generously bless forever."

"You may now kiss the bride."

Grey eagerly lifted the pristine white veil covering my face, now with a lovely smile tugging at the corners of his lips.

“You look beautiful, my love," he murmured softly, and it felt like his words were caressing my heart. I could see the love shining right through his eyes, and I wondered if my eyes looked as bright as his.

"And you, my husband, look great. You're the most handsome man here today," I

responded.

He grinned. "Because I'm the groom?" he asked.

"Because I don't see any other man except you."

Without a moment's delay, he kissed me on the lips, and I kissed him back with

equal

ardor.

Finally, after a long and endless journey, we had our happily ever after.
