Chapter 22
Trista’s point of view
“Trista, wait!” said a voice from behind me as I went out of the villa and was about to depart.
Heidi rushed up to me, clutching a suitcase in his arms. “You forgot to take something away,”
“What exactly is it?” In a state of bewilderment, I took it over and opened it. It was my childhood photo album, much to my amazement!
Since we were children, Grandpa, Mom, and I have been taking photos together!
It was still in the room!
Ashley, I thought, had wrecked everything!
“Please put it away, Trista! When you return, you’ll check it out!” Heidi scanned the area, fearful of being seen. ” This is the only thing I can do to keep it safe.”
Heidi’s heart continued to quiver with terror. “Fanny and Ashley appeared to be completely insane. At the sight of objects of grandpa and your mother, they destroyed everything relating to them. Mrs’s portrait was even destroyed….”
“I appreciate you taking the risk of keeping this photo album for me.” I was ready to say thank you as I grasped her hand, but the uneven back of her palm made me suspicious. “What’s wrong with your hand, Heidi?”
I took it up and noticed a terrible wound on Heidi’s hand’s back.
“Nothing.” She quickly withdrew her hand and said, “Please excuse me, but I have to leave. It’s not reasonable to speak here.”
“Did Ashley bully you?” “Can you tell me who did it?”
“It happened a long time ago.” Heidi sighed and thought back, “Miss Ashley planned to use a knife to cut Mrs.’s photo, but I intervened quickly. Her knife scratched me, which I didn’t expect. It’s all well. It is no longer painful.”
“Heidi, you are devoted to the Swifts. I have nothing to express my gratitude for.” After that, I bowed to her.
“what are you doing? Don’t do this. I can’t afford it!”
“Come along with me. The Swift family are not the same as before.”
“I’m afraid I won’t be able to stop you.” “Besides,” Heidi added, holding my hand, “I have something more essential to do.”
“Something more important?”
“You should still be in the villa.” “If there is any news,” Heidi added intentionally in a low voice, “I will contact you as quickly as possible.”
“Heidi, how can I let you take a risk?”
“Don’t you believe the ship disaster was a hoax? I….”
“What are you doing? What exactly are you doing in that location?” An angry voice came from not far distant.
“Can you tell me who he is?” I smirked.
“There’s a new housekeeper! please put your belongings away. Now I’m off to work!” When Heidi was about to leave, the Butler had stopped her and looked down at her.
“What secret are you talking about here?” The Butler rubbed his mustache and shifted his gaze between Heidi and me.
Heidi explained in a hurry, “I’ve watched Trista grow up. She returned, which is unusual for her, and we talked for a while….”
“Miss Ashley’s life hangs in the balance. Do you have any more time to talk here?” The Butler removed his servant cap and slapped Heidi across the face. “Keep in mind who paid you. If you have some spare time, you should pray to Miss Ashley. You’ve been raised for such a long time! You’re such a scrooge!”
“Enough!” “It’s none of your business, Heidi. Please get out of here!”
I’m curious as to what makes this Butler unique.
Heidi bowed and quickly took the order. Before leaving, he didn’t forget to give me a hint with his eyes not to alert the enemy.
The Butler looked at me arrogantly, “Hey, isn’t this Trista who has just been kicked out? What’s in her hand? When you came into the house, I recall you not bring any gifts. What exactly are you hoping to get out of the house?”
I gave him a strong slap across the face. “The first rule of servants is to never forget who you are! It appears that you have no idea what you’re capable of. This slap acts as just a gentle reminder!”
“Did you have the audacity to hit me?” The Butler raised his arm, indicating that he was ready to fight back!Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
“You have the audacity to touch me!” I exclaimed aloud, “Keep in mind that I still own half of the inheritance! You just heard that everyone is pleading with me to give up! What do you think you’ll get if I give up on the condition that you die?”
His hand stopped in mid-air, refusing to fall.
“If I hear you using your influence to intimidate others again, I’m willing to trade my inheritance for your life!” “Your master will give me a house, a car, and a lot of money even if I don’t have the right to inherit. Nominally, I am still his daughter. You, on the other hand, are an outsider! No one will ever find you if you vanish from the face of the earth!”
He quickly removed his hand and apologized “It’s entirely my fault. Please accept my apologies. This will not happen again, I swear!”
“You’d better remember what you said! I have as many spies in this home as you do. If I overhear you gossiping and creating trouble….” I bluffed on purpose.
“No, no, no. I won’t talk nonsense. Please, this way. ” The Butler bowed abruptly.
I cast a glance at Heidi, who was nearby trimming flowers and plants and then averted my gaze. “Then there’s this bag I’m holding….”
“I couldn’t find anything! Trista, just take it away!” The Butler didn’t dare to raise his head and continued to bow.
I noticed that he couldn’t make much trouble, I turned around and fled on high heels.
I kept thinking of Heidi’s words as I walked down the street, “Trista, don’t you think the ship crash is suspicious?”
suspicious? It seemed extremely suspicious!
At most, 1 million 200 thousand flights would result in 1 ship crash. I didn’t think there was a chance I’d be able to catch this one flight!
Was it a man-made disaster?
Is it possible that someone wants my life?
Who could it possibly be?
Was it a member of the family?
I came to a halt as I considered this and couldn’t believe my own guess!
They could sacrifice the lives of the other passengers on the ship and let everyone die with them, no matter how cruel the family members were.
A shrill horn suddenly sounded. I realized it was too late when I looked up. I was standing in the middle of the intersection, and a red car couldn’t stop and rushed in my direction.
Just as I thought I was going to die, a hand reached out and drew me into an unexpected embrace.
“Didn’t you notice the car when you crossed the street?”
