Chapter 39 Don’t be Late
Chapter 39 Don’t be Late
The man looked at him in silence without saying a word. He opened the lunch box in his hand, scooped
up a spoonful of food and handed it to him.
“Who are you? What do you want?” Travis turned his head away from him.
The man did not speak, but insisted on giving him the spoonful of food.
Travis wrinkled his eyebrow. Guessing this man probably would not give up, he was silent and
deadlocked with him.
Finally, the man gave up. Without saying anything, the man took the lunch box and spoon and went Material © NôvelDrama.Org.
out.
Travis looked at the man slowly closing the door and closed his eyes in chagrin.
Who the hell was he?
He has just returned to the country, and few people knew about his return.
Daphne?
Impossible, his relationship with Daphne was good. She would not do that to him.
Could it be...?
Travis's throat rolled.
Could his parents have done such a thing in order to force him to return to the family?
Travis only felt sad.
After a long time, Travis had been numb. When he was to mentally break down, the door was slowly
opened.
Travis looked up and found there was another person with that man.
The man pushed a wheelchair slowly to him, and sitting in the wheelchair was Rosalie.
Rosalie sat in the wheelchair and smiled at him happily and harmlessly, “Travis, long time no see.”
Travis looked at her in shock. He had words to say but he did not speak it out.
“Surprised to see me?” Rosalie smiled with a sincere and harmless look on her face, “I'm sorry that we
meet again in such a way, but I really need your help. I hope you don't mind.”
“Is this the way you ask for help?” Travis frowned. “If you really need my help, I'll help you. There's no
need to do that. It is too scary.”
“Sorry, sorry, so you agreed to help me?” Rosalie asked, bending her eyes.
Travis said, “You haven't said what it is, how can I help you?”
“You just need to stay here.” Rosalie said, “I'm sorry, but I can't tell you why.”
Travis lowered his eyes and was silent.
For some reason, he felt a sense of foreboding.
Rosalie smiled, “So you agreed, please stay here, I will thank you afterwards.”
With that, she did not wait for Travis to speak but pushed the wheelchair out.
As Travis tried to call her, he felt pain behind the head and dark before eyes, and then knocked
unconscious.
Outside the door.
Rosalie curled her lips and made a call to Daphne. “It has been settled, but I need you to bring Aleena
to me.”
“I see.” Said Daphne.
“You know what's really important to Aleena right now?” Rosalie was smiling darkly, but her tone was
serious.
“The child?” Said Daphne.
“Wrong, it's Travis.” Rosalie said. When she realized that Daphne was about to get angry, she quickly
said, “It's just to frighten her. Don't worry, I won't do anything to Travis. What's more, he is the young
master of the Fletcher family, how could I possibly do anything to him?”
Daphne instantly calmed down, but she was still worried, “I will ask Travis.”
Rosalie said, “Of course.”
They hung up the phone, and Daphne immediately called Travis.
Rosalie lifted her chin towards the hoodie man who had just come out. The man understood and put
the phone through, “Hello?”
“Travis, are you okay? Where are you now?” Asked Daphne anxiously.
“I'm fine, I'm busy, don't bother me.” The man replied, imitating Travis' voice.
Daphne was relieved to confirm that Travis was safe now. “You need to ensure your own safety, ok?”
After getting the affirmative answer, she hung up the phone feeling relieved and her expression
immediately became firm.
...
Aleena led idly in bed, reading a book.
Spencer was busy and did not come to the hospital, but sent a dozen of voice and text messages to
her. She listened to them seriously and then replied him with a smile.
She was enjoying her time alone, but there was a knock on the door.
“Come in.”
The nurse opened the door and entered. “Miss Wilson,” she said with a smile, “this is your letter.”
“Letter?” Aleena frowned doubtfully, but she still took it. “Thank you.”
As soon as the nurse left, she read it and gasped at one glance.
It was a photo of Travis!
Travis was unconscious, with his eyes closed. He was hanging the air, his wrist had been worn by the
rope with blood dripping down. There were bruises and swelling on the face, he must have be beaten.
The heart of Aleena was tightened at a draught.
The words on the back of the photo:
“If you want him to survive, come to X Warehouse by four o'clock tonight, and don’t be late.”
