Chapter 55 Squatting
These people drink wine as if it were water. In no time, they had finished five glasses of wine, leaving Blanche astonished.
"The timer starts. Five minutes, it's time for you to squat."
After putting down the last empty glass, Louis glanced at the time on his wrist and stared at Blanche.
Blanche was momentarily stunned. She knew very well that Louis insisted on drinking even though it was a tie just to make her squat.
She had to accept the consequences of her bet. Since Louis had already drunk, Blanche spontaneously squatted down.
As soon as she squatted down, she instantly became much shorter, like a servant girl, and her aura weakened.
Blanche caught sight of several girls covering their mouths and trying to hide their laughter. Undoubtedly, they were making fun of her. Blanche avoided their gazes, took a deep breath, and raised her head high. She determined not to lose her spirit though she was squatting.
Nicky called for the next round.
"One." Nicky felt that he was too unlucky, and he felt a pain in his chest due to anger.
"Five." Daniel smiled.
"Three."
It was Blanche's turn again. She knew she had to seize this opportunity to stand up. She couldn't afford another tie. She had to roll the dice and get the highest number, a six.
After calming herself down, Blanche picked up the dice cup, held her breath, and shook it. Then she opened it. Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.
"Six," Nicky exclaimed.
Blanche also breathed a sigh of relief. This was already the highest number. She didn't believe that Louis could shake the dice cup twice and still get a six.
Although she felt much relieved, Blanche held her breath when Louis took the dice cup. Her legs were starting to go numb, and squatting was really uncomfortable.
Louis remained calm and gently shook the dice cup a few times before placing it on the table.
Before revealing the result, Louis deliberately glanced at Blanche. She was focused and curious about the number, as it concerned her dignity.
The dice cup was slowly uncovered.
"It's also six."
Everyone claimed.
Blanche was speechless. Pressing her forehead, she watched as they effortlessly drank five glasses of wine.
Rubbing her sore and numb heels with one hand, Blanche felt the numbness spread from her feet to her stomach.
They played another round, and history repeated itself. This time, Blanche got a five, and Louis also got a five, resulting in another tie.
They continued to drink calmly. Blanche accumulated another five minutes for herself. Every time the five minutes were up, a new round began.
Blanche was in agony. She touched her forehead and felt a layer of sweat on it. Her soles felt like there were beans jumping around.
"Do you still want to play?"
Before the start of a new round, Louis glanced at Blanche.
Blanche's face turned red, and she moved her feet in small steps secretly, trying to relieve the numbness.
It was evident that she was very uncomfortable squatting, but she refused to give up.
"Of course, I'll play. I don't believe that the numbers I get will always be one or two," Nicky shouted.
After three rounds, Nicky got two ones and one two. He was determined to roll a higher number and regain his pride.
Blanche gritted her teeth and gave Nicky, the careless man, a glare.
After playing three more rounds, Blanche was about to burst into anger. No matter what number she rolled, Louis could always roll the same number. She had no chance of winning. It was like being stuck with a piece of taffy that she couldn't get rid of.
Blanche felt like her legs were no longer her own. Her face turned bright red, but her lips turned pale.
Feeling like she was about to have low blood sugar, Blanche picked up the juice next to her and took a sip, feeling hopeless.
Blanche knew that she couldn't win this round. Although she had exhausted her arms and got a six, Louis would definitely get a six as well. It seemed to be a law of nature.
Her legs would be exhausted tonight.
At this moment, Blanche also understood that Louis was a master at playing dice. She was no match for him. Every time he got the same number as her, and it wasn't a coincidence, but intentional. This was his determination to defeat her.
After rolling it, Louis moved the dice cup away. Blanche looked away, not wanting to face reality.
"It's a five!"
"D*mn, Louis, you messed up!"
Blanche felt so excited. She immediately looked back at the dice and rubbed her eyes. It really was a five.
She finally won!
The feeling of excitement surged up to Blanche's throat, wanting to burst out.
"You could get five sixes even with your eyes closed and it's the same dice, but you miscalculated?" Nicky couldn't understand.
After glancing at Blanche, who was still squatting obediently, Louis didn't explain. He picked up a glass of wine and brought it to his lips, indicating that he was willing to accept defeat.
"Blanche, you can stand up now."
Blanche nodded and rubbed her swollen calf. She mustered up her strength and stood up, feeling like there were millions of ants crawling on her legs. Her legs shook uncontrollably.
Blanche immediately walked over to the nearest sofa and sat down, placing a pillow on her trembling legs.
After squatting for thirty minutes straight, Blanche felt like she had undergone torture. Her back was covered in sweat, and even her fingertips were trembling.
Blanche bit her lip and secretly glanced at Louis, who was drinking. His side profile was determined, and he looked so calm, showing no signs of anger after losing.
If he wanted to win, he would never lose.
