CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery

Chapter 1687

As soon as Ben spoke, Caleb and Hunter gave him exaggerated thumbs-up. "Married with a kid, and you're still feeling lost? You're a real genius," Caleb teased.

Nash patted Ben on the shoulder, his tone reassuring. "You've got a kid now, no need to overthink it. Just do your best for her. Besides, wasn't Jamie doing great last time she was with Nina?" Ben paused, reflecting on Jamie's recent state. Ever since she had started focusing on what she truly wanted, stepping back from exhausting tasks, she seemed much more at ease and full of life. Caleb said, "I'm heading out of town next month for a conference. If it weren't for that, I wouldn't even be here today."

"I'm flying abroad tomorrow," Hunter added quickly.

Clearly, this meetup was a rare opportunity to gather before everyone got busy again.

Nash glanced at the two of them with a smirk. "And you two have the nerve to tease Ben? What about you guys? When are you settling down and having kids?

"Don't tell me, by the time our kids are in middle school, you two will still be single," Nash quipped, his tone half-serious.noveldrama

At thirty-something, they weren't exactly young anymore. Nash, having found joy in his stable family life with Nina, had become a vocal advocate for settling down.

Hunter shrugged, unconvinced. "It's not like I've found the one yet. I can't just marry someone for the sake of it."

"Do you think I'm like you and Nina, falling in love after marriage? Or like Ben, stuck in a dramatic reunion story?" Caleb added with a laugh.

Marriage? Caleb couldn't think of anything less appealing. A life filled with women, kids, and domestic responsibilities? No thanks. Building a career was far more satisfying. After all, life didn't only offer one path to happiness. Hunter gave Caleb a thumbs-up. "Exactly. Just because they've settled down, they're trying to turn us into househusbands."

"What's next? The four of us sitting

around playing poker every weekend?" Hunter teased, not bothering to hide his mock disdain

for Nash and Ben's domesti@bliss.

Ben smirked. "So, you two bachelors sticking together-is that your plan?" His tone was casual, but Nash's gaze sharpened, landing squarely on the pair.

Noticing the look, both Caleb and Hunter visibly tensed. Caleb was the first to respond, his voice rising defensively. "Ben, what kind of nonsense are you spouting?" "Yeah!" Hunter chimed in. "We've known each other for years. You know exactly who we are. How could you even joke about something like that?"

Ben shrugged, his tone nonchalant. "Hey, who knows?"

Caleb pointed an accusatory finger. "This is revenge, isn't it?"

"I didn't know you could hold a grudge, Ben," Hunter added, shaking his head in mock disappointment.

Ben chuckled, clearly enjoying their

flustered reactions. "The way you two are always in sync, maybe you should just make it official. You already know each other inside and out fewer fights that way.

"Get lost!" Caleb barked, his face flushing with indignation.

Despite the protests, Ben remained unfazed. Among their group of friends, this kind of teasing was par for the course.

The evening wouldn't have been complete without a few rounds of drinks. When it was time to leave, they responsibly called for a driver to get everyone home safely.

Ben hadn't actually drunk much, but

as soon as he walked in, Jamie approached him, immediately noticing the strong scent of alebhol clinging to him. Sensitive to smells, she wrinkled her nose.

"Why did you drink so much?" she asked, her concern evident. Lately, Ben had more frequent social engagements than usual.
