Book2-Chapter 7
Book 2 Chapter 7
"T need to talk to you," I say. He takes a sip of his drink and nods
"Shut the door," he tells me, and I fight back the urge to walk back out of the room. I quickly shut the door
"What is it you want?" he asks as I turn to face him, his gaze roaming over my exposed legs under the short, skin-tight dress
"I was wondering if tomorrow I could work in the VIP section? Can I take on a private client?" I ask, my tone carefully neutral
He sizes me up, skepticism written all over his face. "You're unmarked and never taken private
clients. You could be asked to do more than dance for them, Maya. It's risky," he says, but the hard edge of need in my gaze must sway him. He leans back in his chair, a calculating look in his eyes. "Alright, but if you want to prove you're ready for the VIP section, you'll have to show me you can handle it," he says, his voice low and demanding. My heart sinks as he adds, "Give me a lap dance, then. I need to see that you'll obey a private client without question." I hesitate, feeling a knot of dread in my stomach, but his piercing gaze leaves no room for refusal
Taking a deep breath, I step closer, slowly swaying my hips to the beat of the music playing faintly in the background. His hands immediately find my hips, gripping them tightly as I move. I try to focus on the rhythm, but his fingers wandering up to grope my ass makes it difficult. Then, I hear the unmistakable sound of
a Zipper
"Keep dancing," he commands. Fighting back a wave of revulsion, I continue, forcing a sultry smile while he touches himself. Every second feels like an eternity, but I push through, determined to prove I can handle the VIP section, no matter the cost. Inside, a battle rages between my need for the money and the overwhelming disgust I feel
My mind screams at me to stop, to run out of the office, and never look back, but my body moves mechanically as I try my best to tune what he is doing out. Yet, it still leaves me questioning whether this sacrifice is truly worth it as he wanks himself to me dancing
He finally finishes, and I avert my gaze as he cleans himself up. Despite me not having to touch him, I still feel violated

With a grunt, he nods. "Fine. But some drunk asshole accidentally marks you, don't come crying to me. No slip-ups, Maya. They are high-paying clients and regulars."
Relief, mingled with a spike of anxiety, courses through me. I nod, my mind already racing through the potential earnings I can make tomorrow, well, tonight since it is already morning
Hours later, as dawn begins to creep over the horizon, I put my till away and quickly change, grabbing my handbag and coat. Locking up the club, I head to my second job, which is cleaning at the local library
The contrast between the two jobs 1s stark and leaves my mind in a constant state of whiplash
At the library, the quiet and solitude offer a brief respite from the invasive, degrading
experiences at the club, allowing me a moment to breathe and collect myself. Yet, the peace is often fleeting, as paranoia at being seen there kicks in. I have no mask to hide behind at the library. Owned by Alpha Greyson, it's a job I took for the early hours it offers and the unlimited access to books. My library card is my most treasured possession. The unlimited borrowing rights are a small consolation prize, one that is being used regularly since I have no TV, having had to pawn it for groceries the other month
I quickly slip into one of the back staff rooms and change quickly, knowing my dress is hardly appropriate to wear here. So I always keep a couple of spare outfits here in case I am held back for lock up like I was this morning at the club. I also find a power outlet and place my phone on charge
Once dressed, I grab my cart. I move methodically through the aisles, dusting and rearranging books, the scent of old paper comforting in the early morning silence
Reading is my escape, a way to live a thousand lives when my own feels too constricted, too suffocating. I linger in the romance section, fingers tracing the spines of novels that promise happy endings, so at odds with the reality of my world
As the first few people started filtering through the place when the main doors finally opened at 9 AM, I put my cart away, and my shift ended just as the city awakenedThis is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
Moving toward the bus stop, I check the time on my fully charged phone. The next bus 1s in ten minutes, so I sit at the bus stop and open the new book I have borrowed
