Chapter twenty seven
Her eyes flickered shut, as I stood up and grabbed her. Carrying her to the kitchen the adults turned my way.
"I'm taking her to my room to sleep. Just to let you know."
"Alright, no funny business with my daughter. I'm keeping both eyes on you."
"Don't worry, I won't do anything, I swear."
He nodded when I left. Heading upstairs, I felt her arms circle my neck. I felt her nuzzle closer to my neck.
I blushed for the first time in years. I kind of enjoyed this.
I would be lying if I say I didn't have a little, tiny, itty bitty crush on her.
Okay fine, I have a massive crush on her and I can't help it. I've had it for a while now but no one knows. I'm a great actor.
I've always dreamed of having her in my arms and a few hours prior, my dream came true. Now I'm holding her for the second time.
Sarah slept soundlessly in my cold, hard arms. I didn't want this moment to end so I went slower. Corbin came out of His room gazing at me.
"What?"
"You got yourself a girlfriend." He wiggles his eye brows.
"Shut up."
"C'mon. I know you like her. I'm no idiot."
"I'm no idiot either, I don't like her."
"Then why are you carrying her? You could have left her on the couch?"
"You're smart for your age."
"So tell me, do you or do you not like her?"
"You caught me, I do. But you can't tell anyone, not even her. We're suppose to be enemies."
"You've got my word."
"Thank you. I mean it. You tell anyone about it, imma kill you."
"Okay, okay. I promise I won't say a word. Just so I don't die."
"Thank you. Now if you excuse me, I've got to take her to bed."
I left without him saying anything. I really don't want her to know I like her in a way. I just don't know if she likes me the same way.
I made it to my room. Sadly, this has to end. Sighing, I open my door as quietly and careful as I can. Stepping into my room, I lay her on the bed, carefully bringing the blanket up and over to her shoulders.
I watch her curl into the blanket bringing it closer to her. I know, I'm a creep. But she's so peaceful when she sleeps. So calm.
Gently placing my hand on her forehead, I rub my thumb in circles at her temple. Sarah curls further at my touch.
A smile crept on my face.
Sarah looks so adorable sleeping. I never thought I'd say that.
Leaving her in my warm, comfy bed, I head downstairs where the rest of them are.
"How's Sarah?" Her father asks.
"Sleeping peacefully only bed."
"Good."
I grab a bottle from the fridge, lean against the counter and listen to what's going on.
"So if there's war, we need to be prepared." One of the hunters said. An older looking guy that looks to be no older than mid fifties. His greying dry hair and his over weight.
"If there's war, no matter what happens, we will team up and stop it," Raul announces.
I'm not surprised.
A hunch is building up that the Vanetts will start it. I don't know why. They're always targeting Sarah for some odd reason. Of all people, Sarah. I wouldn't mind if they go after Marie. I would be so happy.
Everyone would be if she just left, even without a trace.
I'm so cruel.
I listened to the conversation being held in this kitchen not caring to answer. I listen intently with my mind going else where.
Soon though, I couldn't think. I couldn't listen. So I told Amber who's beside me that I'm going to get fresh air. She nodded and I left.
I needed time to think. At this point I don't care if it's snowing. A blizzard won't affect me.
I pull my hood over my head and started walking down a path that I created. Blocking my eyes from the blowing snow, I kept walking.
For some reason I can't get Sarah out of my mind. I want her in my arms again cuddling me. Nuzzling her little, fragile head into my neck.
Next, I want her to kiss me. Her sweet, soft lips against mine giving into a passionate kiss. Then I make my way down her fragile, delicious neck, trailing kisses. NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.
Hearing her moan aloud makes me go crazy. Trailing my hands down to her- BLADE, QUIT IT!
She hates you and you're supposed to hate her, snap out of it!
I need to get the better of myself before my fantasies are take over. She doesn't like me so I have to get over myself.
She'll never like me in that way, let alone like me as a friend.
I sigh.
A deep, long sigh.
The snow smashed into my face as I continue to walk. Sarah deserves someone better who won't put her life at risk. Someone who will treat her right, not that I don't treat her well.
Someone's who's not me.
Once I figured the wind started picking up harder than before, I turned around and went back the way I came.
The wind picked up so I pulled my hood further to cover my eyes from the rushing snow, blinding me as I picked up my pace.
It took me a while to get back to the home. As the flakes melted on my skin, I begin to burn. By the time I get home, my whole face and hands are covered in rashes.
I went to the fire and warmed myself up. Before I knew it, the rashes disappear in seconds.
"They're asleep, all of them."
I glance behind me seeing Victoria standing by the stairs.
I nod my head and turn back to the fire. I must have been gone for awhile.
"Something wrong, Blade?"
I shook my head. Hearing her footsteps come towards me, I stayed still moving an inch, whatsoever.
"Somethings wrong, I can sense it."
I take a side glance towards her before my eyes trail back to the crackling, dancing fire.
"Is it love?"
"What? N-no."
"It is. I saw the way you looked at her."
This caught me off guard. Burning my eyes into her she knows what I'm trying to imply.
"You do. You love Sarah Harper, the daughter of the vampire hunter. Let me tell you something. Love . . . Love is something not everyone can understand. Love is crazy and can have many emotions. When people are in love, they do, say things that . . . That can trigger a part of the brain into believing that thing. When you find love, you'll do anything to protect them."
"If it's true, then I am in love with Sarah, and I believe that it won't happen. And that she deserves someone else, someone better, than me."
"If that's what you believe then go ahead. Blaine I fell in love with Raul, I couldn't believe it. So I hid my feelings from him and never believed that we'd get together. But it did happen. So I'm saying is, is love can be so many things that you want it to be. If you believe in love, then you'll know it'll happen."
And then, she left me to think of what she said. Sitting down on the couch, I stare into the fire like dear in headlights.
She's right though. I do love her. My feelings are starting to take over. If I believe it won't happen, then it wont ever.
All at once, the fire crackled in the night. I can hear fainted footsteps in the distance, thinking it's one of the kids or others.
Little did I know, it wasn't.
"Blade?"
I hear a soft, familiar voice.
"Yeah?"
I don't turn around since I know who it is. She didn't answer but descended to me. I feel the seat dip beside me when I finally decide to look at her.
Sarah's eyes are tired looking, she looked half asleep. I can sense her shivering on coldness.
"Why are the Vanetts after me?"
