Friends
Alec’s POV
After having breakfast, I went to see my friends, Mark and Silver. Unfortunately, they were preparing to leave yet I’d wanted to spend the day with them. After a short while, I asked them where they were going.
“We missed a test on Thursday,” Silver said. “But the instructor agreed to let us do it today.”
“How did you convince him?” If you missed a test at Sandonne University, It was hard to retake it because most of the lecturers wouldn’t allow it.
“Very easy,” Mark laughed. “You know what my looks are capable of.”
“Thought he was male.”
“Who said he isn’t?” Silver laughed.
“Oh,” I said. “I understand.”
“No, man.” Silver said. “You don’t, he’s not gay if that’s what you’re thinking.”
“So what’s all this about?” They were really confusing me.
“Okay, there’s this clinic with a female doctor,” Mark said. “We got a fake medical report from her.”
I silently hoped that wouldn’t land the doctor into trouble.
“You don’t look yourself, man.” Silver sat next to me. “What’s up?”
“Nothing, I’m sure I look okay enough.”
Mark sat on the other side next to me so I was in between them.
“Tell us, money?”
“No,” I debated on whether to tell them. “It’s my roommate.”
“What’s up with her?”
“She’s a prude.”
They laughed out loud.
“So you’ve failed to bang her?”
“You’re a pathetic loser, Alec.”
“Send her to me.”
“Since I’ve failed to get into her pants, I’m going to try friendship.” I said. “She hates me like hell.”
“Maybe she’s secretly falling for you,” Silver said.
“You wouldn’t be saying that if you knew her.” I said. “I can’t stand her hate anymore.”
“Since when did you start caring about a girl hating you? What’s happening to you, Alec?” Silver patted my back. “Are you going soft?”
“Let’s stop talking about her,” I said, getting tired of their useless chatter. “I gotta go.”
They too stood up to leave.
“Wish you well,” I told them.
They were still muttering their thanks when I walked out.
Though she had disappointed me by kissing Ross, I was still interested in making up with her. I wanted us to be friends. I had to think of what made girls happy because I had not yet known her well. We’d never had a decent conversation, so I didn’t know what she liked most.
Shoes? No I didn’t even know her shoe size, I couldn’t buy stuff like that. Books? She didn’t seem like a person who read a lot. Flowers? Hell no, I wasn’t her boyfriend. Maybe Ross would buy those, if at all there was anything between them. What if I took flowers and found them still together? The thought made me cringe.
In the end, I just bought a few bars of chocolate and cookies. If she didn’t like that, I wouldn’t care. After buying some necessities for myself, I walked home and by home I mean my apartment.
To my disappointment, there was no sign of Lynn. If I liked chocolate, I would have eaten all the bars in desperation. I decided to let it go, accepting that this was going to be a bad day for me. I just hoped she hadn’t gone to Ross’ room.
I went into my room and turned on music to the highest volume then switched to flirting with random women on Cupid bay, a dating site.

Lynn’s POV
When we pulled away for breath, I could see the shock on his face. I had kissed Ross and he kissed me back! What was I thinking?
“I’m so Sorry, Ross.” I apologized. “I wasn’t thinking straight. I don’t know what happened to me.”
After saying that I looked away. I didn’t know how he felt. Maybe he was angry at me. I didn’t have the courage to look at him do I just looked down, waiting for him to say something. The silence was killing me.
Then he got up and walked out of the room.
What?
I was dead for sure. I had just lost a friend. That week hadn’t been so good for me. I think it was all because of Alec. I was losing my friends. First, Jen but I knew we were going to make up soon. I wasn’t ready yet. Now Ross had walked out on me without saying anything and I was going to possibly lose Chris if he ever heard of that kiss. I was sure Ross would tell him after all. The only close friend I had left was Kari, the other friends didn’t matter much.
I got up and picking up my phone, left to strengthen the bond with the only close friend I had at that moment.
I found her with Ron whom I hated but wasn’t sure why. I didn’t even know what Kari saw in him except good looks. Kari hugged me like she didn’t want to let go. The hug was long.
“It’s been really long, sweetheart. “She said happily. “I missed you so much.”
“I missed you too,” I said honestly then turned to her boyfriend. “Hi Ron.”
He smiled. “How are you, Lynn?”
“I’m fine,” I forced a smile then turned to my best friend who was now seated on his lap.
“How is this place?” I asked her.
“It’s really nice and the neighbors aren’t so nosy. They’re actually cool and living with Ron is the best thing that ever happened to me,” She touched his hand playfully, making me feel more uncomfortable.
“How are you doing back there? Jen said-”Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
“Don’t talk about that silly-”
“You need to forgive her, Lynn.” She said with a serious look on her face.
Yeah, right.
“Talking about my room, Alec is just a wasted sperm.” I needed to stop the talk about forgiving Jen.
Kari laughed and Ron said; “I will talk to him. I’m sure he’ll change his ways.”
“I really hope so but I don’t think he’s capable of changing his disgusting ways.”
“So, any plans for today night?” Kari inquired smiling at me.
“Nope, will be in my room.”
“That’s so boring,” Ron said. “Why don’t you join us at Kim Day’s birthday party? It’s gonna be fun.”
“That’s true.”
Remembering my experience after getting drunk the last night, I decided I wasn’t in the mood to party.
“I’d rather be in a less noisy place like a movie cinema.”
“You alone?” Kari asked. “Unless you want to go there with someone.”
“You could be that someone,” I smiled hopefully.
“I’m sorry but can’t leave Ron to go alone,” She smiled at him and he gave her a peck on the forehead.
Oh. So you’re okay with your best friend being alone but not your good for nothing boyfriend?
“I guess I will just stay in my room and watch movies,” I said trying very much to force a smile.
“You’ll be so bored, Lynn.” She said as if she was mocking me.
“Yea-”
“I’ve got to go” I cut her off, and practically ran out of the room.
Tears were welling up in my eyes as I walked hurriedly to my apartment. I couldn’t believe it. The only person who was left to comfort me just let me down. My world was falling apart, thanks to Alec.
As soon as the front door opened, tears started rolling down my cheeks and sobs wrecked my body. I was close to wailing. I didn’t even bother to lock the door but just continued straight to my bedroom door. As it opened, Alec appeared on his door and ambled towards me. I swiftly entered my room and locked the door. Nobody was supposed to see me cry.
I fell onto my bed and the sobs just increased. I was so lonely with no one there for me. Alec was banging the door and shouting at me to open it. Did he care? I didn’t need his care. But I gathered all strength left and went to open the door. When I saw a worried look on his face, I threw my arms around him.
