This was bound to cause her endless trouble. Claire had already pieced together what was really happening. It was Diana going rogue. The original plan was just to nudge Connor and Eve together. Chloe wasn't supposed to be involved, and she definitely didn't plan on harming Pax. What Connor had mentioned was definitely Diana going off-script. Claire could even guess that Diana had included herself in the plot, hoping to get closer to Connor and maybe even get caught together, tying her fate with his forever. Diana was truly out of her mind.

Claire didn't say a word, just waited for him to continue. She was really curious about how Connor had figured it all out and how he'd managed to unravel her plans.

But since it's made from natural plant components, it metabolizes fast, leaving no trace. So, no one would suspect the victims were drugged, and even hospital tests wouldn't find anything."

Chloe went on, "But the downside of this drug is its unique scent, which most people wouldn't notice. But the wine Diana splashed on Pax and the scent from the jewelry box she gave me smelled the same, so I knew something was fishy."

Chloe chuckled, "I wouldn't have figured it out if it weren't for that little detail."
