Dumping Him for His Uncle (Natasha and Zachary)

Chapter 43

Natasha immediately unlocked her phone and saw that some of the messages were from Owen, and the remainder had arrived overnight from Julian.

Owen had called her many times, but since she never picked up any of the calls, he decided to leave a voice message instead. "Did you seriously go to bed this early? Anyway, I found some new info. Have a look."

There were also three missed calls from Nicole.

Just thinking about what had happened last night gave Natasha a headache.

She regretted making the comment back then as it only gave Nicole a chance to hold a grudge against her.noveldrama

But it was to be expected, as common sense and logic could not apply to Nicole's thoughts and behavior.

Making calls in the middle of the night was nothing short of harassment.

Natasha decided to block Nicole's number before continuing to read Owen's messages.

"These are all photos of Trina. I also found out that she changed her name to Faye Young. Most importantly, she's now working at a lab owned by the Foster Group, though I'm not exactly sure what she's doing there."

The fact that Owen could manage to dig up so much information was pretty impressive.

Natasha replied to his message, "So Trina had changed her name to Faye, huh?"

It was no wonder Owen kept running into dead ends during his previous investigation.

In order to get close to Faye, Natasha would have to start approaching her through the Foster Group. She then recalled what Julian had sent her.

There were over 50 job listings. The amount of options left her in a blur.

She eventually locked down her options to positions within Jindale Laboratory, which did not have many vacancies.

"What exactly is this 'Information Verification' job about?"

Natasha found the position rather sketchy. However, Natasha saw it as a necessary step. Employment within the Foster Group was her only way to gain proximity to Faye.

She then sent her résumé to the hiring manager. She did not want anyone to say she had gotten the position through connections.

She believed she could succeed as long as she had the skills to do so.

Not long after, Natasha was called in for an interview. Promising talents like her were hard to come by, after all.

She quickly freshened up and headed straight to the interview.

There were no other applicants showing up for the interview. Natasha was the only person there.

She was greeted by a smart-looking woman instead of the HR staff for the interview.

"I've read your résumé and saw that your academic records are excellent. What led to your decision not to pursue postgraduate studies or continue working in a laboratory setting?"

The interviewer did not understand Natasha's choice of work and thought that Natasha had wasted the past three years of her life.

And now, Natasha was applying for an "Information Verification" job, something that just about anyone could do.

Natasha replied, "I believe I don't have to answer that question of yours. It was a personal decision involving my life."

The interviewer was initially surprised by Natasha's reply before letting out a soft chuckle. "It's fine. I was just a little curious about your past. Judging from your résumé, I believe that you'd be a better fit for my project."

Natasha had not planned to apply for a position doing lab work again. It had been a very long time since she had last used professional equipment.

"Don't worry, it's just a short-term project. Considering your academic background, I'm sure it'll be easy for you. I just want to see your approach regarding problem- solving."

The interviewer continued talking for some time, but Natasha did not really pay attention.

Natasha figured she could try it if it was just a short-term project. "I'll join your team for the short-term project. But I have a question I'd like to ask. Is there anyone named Faye Young working on the project as well?"

The interviewer immediately recalled the name Natasha was asking about. "Yes, she is. She graduated from the same university as you. Do you two know each other?"
