Nicole replied, "You must've misheard it. It wasn't anything serious. Don't worry about it."

Molly patted Nicole on the hand and said, "I understand that you want to make a name for yourself, and I fully support you! Don't be afraid, okay? I'll always be here for you!"

A crowd soon gathered around her after what had just happened.

Someone uttered, "Nicole, I didn't know that you're friends with Ms. Spencer! She's infamous for being hard to deal with! My dad has a factory and has been trying to work with her, but he never managed to invite her to talk about it!"

"Yeah! And Mr. Foster's your boyfriend?! I've seen him once! He's really handsome!"

There were a lot more similar comments, but Natasha just focused all her attention on her work.

"Just focus on the experiments, both of you. Don't worry about Nicole," Nancy said.

Nancy was not fond of Nicole, but she had no other choice except to bow before reality.

Natasha let out a sigh and shook her head helplessly before focusing all her attention back on the experiment.

Natasha and Xavier had great teamwork with each other, and their progress was much faster than the other groups.

Even though both Natasha and Nicole were under the same roof, the former could still tolerate Nicole as long as she did not try to stir up any trouble.

Because of Molly, however, most of the people in the lab were now hovering around Nicole.

It was clear that they were all trying to build a connection with Nicole, which caused her pride to soar through the skies. Even the work assigned to her that day was done by someone else through the night.

Subsequently, both Natasha and Xavier were clearly isolated.

They were all adults now, and Natasha could not care less about their childish tricks.

Natasha turned to Xavier and said, "I've finished the important data. It's all in this folder. I'll leave the rest to you."

Xavier nodded and proceeded to walk her out of the office.

Nicole proceeded to block their path with a group of people behind her. "What's this? You've just joined the team for two days, yet you've been leaving work early every single day."

Natasha was annoyed. "Move. I don't owe you any explanations."

With someone powerful backing her up, Nicole completely disregarded anything Natasha had said. "Shouldn't you be leaving when working hours are over?" The other colleagues behind her murmured in agreement.

Natasha had witnessed such a scene so many times at this point that it had become routine to her.

"Why are you still playing such childish little tricks from a decade ago? Can't you grow up a little? If you're upset that I can leave work early, why don't you join my team as well? You'll get to leave early too as long as you finish handing in your workload for the day."

With that, she pushed through the crowd and left.

The usually arrogant Nicole collapsed dramatically the moment things got serious. The crowd around her began to panic. "Nicole, are you alright?"

"Quick! Someone take her to the hospital!"

"Are you feeling dizzy? Here, have a seat and drink some water."

Natasha just left without even looking back at the scene.

Xavier had no idea how Natasha put up with Nicole. He was already at his limit after just two days. "I would've stopped coming if I were you. Being harassed by her every single day is putting me on edge."

"It's been like this since we were young. It doesn't matter what it is. If she sees

that I'm enjoying myself, she'll decide to interfere," Natasha replied.

She had truly seen it all from Nicole-from false accusations to bullying and even slander.

Natasha had lived through all of it as well.
