Chapter 62
The food he'd brought was from the same restaurant Zachary and Natasha had eaten at the last time.
Natasha began, sitting across from him, "Mr. Foster, I'm not sure why you're at my house, but... I'm sorry. I honestly don't remember anything from last night."
She usually had a strong tolerance for alcohol, so why had she ended up blacking out last night?
"Oh? So, are you planning to walk away without taking responsibility, Ms. Bradley?"
He sat there looking completely calm as he fired back.
But the word "responsibility" was too ambiguous. Natasha immediately pictured some inappropriate scenes in her mind.
Sure, she'd always remained untouched, but she wasn't desperate enough to go that far.
"What exactly did I do yesterday that I need to take responsibility for?" she asked. Zachary gestured for her to sit properly, then asked, "You really don't remember?" Natasha's face turned pale as she shook her head.
"Not even a little? You-"
She quickly cut him off because he was about to go into detail.
"How much?" she blurted out.
Zachary looked genuinely stunned. But in Natasha's mind, money was the fastest way to settle this.
"How much do you think is fair?" he asked smoothly.
Fortunately, Zachary didn't give her the "you must take responsibility" look again. Natasha then opened her mobile banking app and checked her balance.
"I know you're worth billions, Mr. Foster. But considering this situation was mutual... how about 50 thousand dollars? Just to compensate you for the inconvenience." Natasha collected herself, trying to sound serious as she negotiated.
"Just 50 thousand dollars? My earnings per minute are more than that. If we're really going to calculate it like this, it's not enough, is it?"
Zachary also became a bit more serious. By his logic, Natasha would have to empty her entire savings to even come close to compensating him fairly.
Before she could respond, Zachary stood up abruptly.
"Maybe we can find another way for you to compensate me," he said casually.
At that moment, Natasha only felt wronged. She was the one who'd supposedly lost out here, yet he was the one acting all high and mighty.noveldrama
"What is it?" she asked warily.
Zachary leaned in closer to her, his breath brushing her ear as he whispered, "Be my girlfriend."
Less than 30 seconds later, Zachary found himself standing outside the door. Natasha glared at him fiercely and spat, "Dream on!"
Then, she slammed the door in his face.
Zachary stood there, helpless.
The door flew open again, and his suit jacket came flying out after him.
Even after kicking him out, Natasha still felt furious.
Half an hour later, she met up with Liana at a coffee shop in a big mall nearby.
"Tell me exactly what happened last night," Liana said. She wore a smug expression as though she were relishing the drama, and Natasha clenched her fists, her face tightening with tension.
"Okay, I'll drop it," Liana said, seeing how tense Natasha was.
"But honestly, Zachary doesn't have the best reputation when it comes to relationships. You'll understand when you look up the scandals tied to him."
Zachary was one of the top bachelors in Cendale. Aside from his remarkable business talent, what really drew attention to him was his personal life.
Natasha scrolled through a few articles, and her expression grew darker.
"How does he manage to go through so many women and not get attached to any of them?"
Someone online had even made a table listing all the actresses who had been rumored to be with Zachary, and it was laid out clearly-there were 15 full pages.
"How dare he blackmail me? If he doesn't want to, do you really think I can't force him to..."
Her voice suddenly trailed off, and Liana quickly wiped the curious look off her face.
"But hey, you're not losing out here. Zachary is handsome and rich. A lot of people see him as the perfect man."
What do you think?
