Chapter 726
A heavy sense of foreboding washed over Debra as she reluctantly sat across from Drake.
His smugness oozed from every pore. His dark blue suit was perfectly tailored, a family crest glinting on his chest like a badge of power
He leaned back casually, his eyes flickering with amusement as he watched her.
“Should I call you Ms. Frazier or Mrs. Houston?”
Debra remained silent, and he raised an eyebrow. “You know, Marion had me fooled. For a moment there, I thought he was going to shoot you. If I’d known you two were involved, things might have been different that night”
“Did you kidnap me just to talk nonsense?” Debra spat.
Drake was bold enough to kidnap her from the engagement party.
There were so many high–profile guests, not to mention the security detail Marion had arranged. Yet, Drake had managed to slip past them all and whisk her away. It was terrifying how easily he had pulled it off
Drake’s smile widened as he gestured toward Lara, who obediently removed the cover from the silver dish in
front of Debra
There, on the plate, was a severed hand. Bloated, pale, and unmistakably human, the smell of salt and decay wafted up, making her gag. She instinctively shot up from her seat, but a large hand clamped down on her shoulder, forcing her back into the chair.
She hadn’t even noticed Kale’s presence behind her.
“Take it easy,” Drake said with a smirk. “Thad someone retrieve Peter’s body from the sea. Take a look. Is this the hand he used to touch you?”
Debra’s stomach churned as she stared at the grotesque hand. Her face turned even paler.
“Why are you showing me this?”
“Has anyone told me about the consequences of crossing me?”
Her heart raced as Drake sauntered around the table, leaning close enough that she could feel his breath on her skin. “And people who lie to me? Well, they meet even worse fates,”
Debra’s gaze darted to Lara, who quickly bowed her head
“Who dares lie to you?”
“Who would dare lie to you?”
Debra swallowed down her fear. Even though she was trapped in Orkgate, she bet he would not do anything.
to her
He smirked, enjoying her discomfort, “A little liar is sitting right in front of me.”
“Shh,” Drake cut her off, placing a finger to his lips.
He straightened, satisfied with the fear now glistening in her eyes. “I bet you’re dying to know what’s happening back in Seamar City. Maybe, if you beg me, I’ll tell you”
Debra clenched her fists beneath the table.
She had already been missing for an entire night. At such a high–profile event, the media would have been all over her disappearance by now.. Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
Drake had timed his move perfectly, making sure Marion would be too distracted to come looking for her.
