Game Over No Second Chances

Chapter 353

"Ugh, this woman's filthy. She's dressed in designer brands from head to toe and actually looks quite pretty. Could it be that her sugar daddy ditched her for a new woman?"

Following the voice, Wendy looked up.

In front of a club entrance, a woman with heavy makeup stepped into the rain in her high heels. A wave of cigarette smoke mixed with overly sweet perfume hit Wendy in the face.

Just then, fingers with red nails grabbed her chin for a closer look.

"Well, well, what a pretty little thing," the woman said with a sneer.

"There's plenty of rich men in Javerton. You've got the looks and the body. How about working in our club? I'm sure you'll land an even richer patron and wear even fancier labels."

Wendy had asthma. The cigarette smoke instantly triggered a violent fit of coughing, leaving her gasping and clutching her chest, stumbling backward as if she might cough up her entire empty stomach.

The woman seemed to realize something and stubbed out her cigarette, looking at Wendy with thinly veiled contempt.

"Oh, I see! You're sick. No wonder your sugar daddy dumped you! Get lost, go on! Don't you dare cough up blood and dirty this place!"

"You're the one who should be groveling to land a sugar daddy!" Wendy forced the words out through her throat, only to be overtaken by another round of harsh coughing.

The woman snorted in derision.

"Oh? You think you're so noble? Look at you, dressed in designer brands, soaking wet like a drowned rat. What are you if not someone's plaything? Certainly not anyone important."

Wendy opened her mouth to retort but a car pulled up in front of them, and the woman instantly swapped her scorn for a sugary smile.

"Well, if it isn't Mr. Larson! It's been ages since you came by. We've just flown in some fresh ingredients today-you'll definitely eat well tonight-ah!"

A crisp slap cut her off mid-sentence.

Wendy whipped her head around, just in time to see Sarah stepping down from the car behind Cole. Dressed in a simple white camisole dress, she raised her hand and slapped the woman, Tara Kemp, again.

"Tara, don't touch Cole with your filthy hands! Didn't you see he brought me tonight? Tell your girls to stay far away. If I see even one of them trying something, I'll hit them too."noveldrama

Tara had just been slapped twice, left and right. She gritted her teeth but could only lower her head and apologize, stepping aside to let Sarah through.

Sarah's eyes flashed with disdain, but with Cole present, she couldn't keep striking Tara.

Instead, she slipped her arm through his and cooed sweetly, "Cole, did you used to come here often?"

"Just for food. Usually someone else invited me."

Cole didn't seem to care much for

the woman beside him. His tone was perfunctory. Then, his gaze landed on Wendy, and his eyes narrowed slightly.

"You are?"

Wendy remembered both Cole and Sarah.

She initially wanted to keep her dignity and turn to leave but then a thought struck her. The enemy of her enemy might just be a friend.

She had already been completely cut off by Serena. And it seemed Serena's step sister hadn't fared much better.

With that, she stopped in her tracks, wiped the rain off her face, and offered a faint smile.

"Mr. Larson, Ms. Jansen, I'm Wendy Smith."

"Wendy? Aren't you the lapdog that stuck to Zach? What are you doing here in front of me and Cole?" Sarah's eyes were full of suspicion.

She'd see every woman as a threat from a cheap flirt like Tara to someone as delicate as Wendy.

"Don't tell me Zach dumped you, so now you've come to seduce Cole? Wendy I suggest you give it up The men my sister's interested in aren't ones someone like you can handle."

Sarah's words dripped with venom.

Ever since she found out about Cole's feelings for Serena, she'd let go of the idea of changing his heart.

After all, if she couldn't stop his feelings, she might as well use status as Serena's step

sister especially since they shared

a resemblance.

It was better to become the one closest to him.

Serena was both a rival in love and the best bait she had.

Wendy listened to all this, then looked over at Cole. Her gaze was calm, almost indifferent but she laughed out loud.

"I have someone I love. Unlike some people who shamelessly chase after power, eyes stuck so high they forget how to walk."
