Chapter 12 My Little Bear God
Before leaving, I met Patton one last time.
We agreed to meet at the school’s café, where we could see students running freely on the playground.
Patton still had that carefree smile on his face. I knew his family was well-off, so I personally made a Christmas gift for him.
I gestured for him to open it, and inside was a bow tie I designed.
“Wow! You’re really talented!”
Patton took it out and immediately tied it around his neck, pairing it with a T-shirt, which made me burst into laughter.
“Patton, thank you.”
“Why do you always say thank you?”
The way he looked at me was similar to how I used to look at Ashburn.
So, what he meant, no one understood better than I did. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
“Patton, I don’t want to hold you back, string you along. I can’t accept someone else’s love right now.”
“Do you understand?”
I tried to express it gently, not wanting to hurt the feelings of this infatuated boy.
Patton felt a moment of melancholy but quickly snapped out of it.
If I were half as free and easy as he is, I wouldn’t be in this mess today.
“If I wait for you, maybe I will, maybe I won’t. Who knows.”
I smiled. Yes, who knows about the things in life.
I bid him farewell, hoping he would encounter someone better in the future.
