His Ex-wife Is An Heiress (Amara and Tobias)

Chapter 0064

Amara didn't go home immediately after leaving the shopping mall. As per a pleading request from Bethany, she stopped at the female's place to have afternoon tea and snack. Although Bethany had said the little event was a means to calm down and forget all about the altercation between them, Tobias and Fiona, she couldn't bring herself to calmly enjoy their snack time. "The nerves of those two," She bit into the scone with more force and anger than enjoyment.

Amara had to chuckle. "Don't let them get to you," She took a sip of her tea. "It's not worth it."

Bethany's brows furrowed. "How can you remain so calm after being insulted like that? Those people, they have no sense of respect or common courtesy." She huffed and took a sip from her tea. "Did they always treat you like this? Was this all you endured during your marriage?"

Amara looked sad, but only for a few seconds. Taking a sip from her tea, she answered. "Yes, but it's all in the past now. Tobias, his family and the old me, they are all in the past." She met Bethany's eyes and smiled. "Right now, I'm a new and better person who doesn't focus on the past, so no matter what anyone says, it doesn't affect me."

Amara's words had an effect on Bethany and although she was still a bit upset, she decided to take Amara's advice.

She raised her teacup and pretended it was a wine glass. "A toast," She announced, waiting until Amara had mimicked her action, before she continued. "To we divorcee, who now know our worth."

Amara chuckled and they clinked their teacups, before taking a sip. The atmosphere around them finally seems to have calmed down, that is until the screen of Amara's phone came to life with a message from Melanie.

Amara opened the message and after seeing the picture of Tobias and Celestine hugging, her mood seemed to plummet, but she quickly discarded the dampening feeling.

"What?" Bethany questioned after catching a glimpse of her mood swings.

"It's nothing." Amara dropped the phone and turned the screen off, but not before Bethany caught a glimpse of the picture.

She scoffed. "Tobias's taste really is disappointing. Or is just that he's blind. I mean," She gestured at the phone. "How would he so stupidly pick someone as shallow as Celestine White, has his taste for rebound dropped that much?" Amara simply shrugged. She couldn't, no, she didn't want to feel annoyed by the topic because she knew Tobias wasn't worth her emotions.

"Aren't you baffled by this?"

"I don't see any reason why I should be. Whosoever Tobias choose to be with is his decision. We're practically strangers, he's in the past and most importantly... I no longer have any feelings for him." "You're very mature about this." Bethany commented, scanning Amara's visage.

"I've learned to be mature in situations like these. Because if you're not," A memory flashes in her mind and the scone in her hand snapped in half. "You'll end up making a mistake that you'll regret later." She looked up from the broken scone and smiled weakly. "I am speaking from experience after all."

Tea time had ended about an hour later. After a little more of chatting and making arrangements for yet another time to meet up and chat, Amara had bid Bethany goodbye and was on her merry way. Except her departure wasn't so merry, as throughout the drive home, her mind couldn't help but keep drifting to the image Melanie had sent her.

She tried her best to remain indifferent, but it was a battle she was losing.

Despite all she had told Bethany, deep down, she felt a tinge of frustration and bitterness. But never was she going to allow it show.

Pushing the thoughts into the back of her mind, Amara pulled into the driveway of her house and stepped out.

The first thing she noticed was a brown box seating in front of her door, wrapped with a golden ribbon.

She was curious, so after closing the door and stepping over the box, she unlocked the door, got inside and went over to pick the box up.

The package was light In some ways, and Amara didn't need to guess for too long to know the sender Melanie, especially when there was an obvious note sticking out.

[Newest arrivals, try them on and you'd be amazed at how well they work.]

Melanie's rather vague note, fixed with a weirdly drawn emoji, had Amara confused and even more curious, but she decided not to dwell on it for too long and instead proceeded to open the box.

Her eyes nearly popped out of their sockets when she opened the box and its contents turned out to be different varieties of sex toys.

There were vibrators, dildos, egg shaped devices, anal plugs, butt pumps, nipple clamps and other things she didn't know the name of.

"What the fuck," She muttered, lifting a strange object that looked like a mix between a cucumber and a vibrator.

She wasn't sure if the objects were supposed to be used together or separately and she was also unsure if they were supposed to be used on males or females, or both. Just what was Melanie planning?

With a shake of her head, she placed the weird looking sex toy back into the box and closed it, deciding that she'd question Melanie about the weird package at a later date, but for now she needed to prepare a draft for the project.

After carefully dropping the package on her center table, Amara headed for the shower. After washing up, she put on a night dress, made

herself a cup of warm chocolate

and settled on her working desk, putting up the draft and beginning the work.

It took a couple of hours for her to finish the draft, but by the time she had done so, she was satisfied with the result and felt like taking a rest.

It was close to 10 pm, and she was tired, but the moment she was about to retire for the night, her door bell rang.

Confused, she stared at the door from where she sat, wondering who it might be. Then a certain person came to mind.Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.

Melanie. She was finally here to explain herself.

With that in mind, Amara rushed to the door and pulled it open.

"Mel, what the heck were you thinking when you sent me th-." Her words died in her throat when she saw that the person at the door was not Melanie, but rather, Tobias. "You..."

The expression on her face morphed from confusion to surprise, and then annoyance.

"Why are you here?" She questioned, making sure not to allow a single bit of her emotions to show on her visage.

Tobias did not seem the least bit fazed by her question. He took a step forward and with a serious demeanor, demanded. "Amara, we need to talk."
