Chapter 32
Chapter 32
Thiago had been keeping tabs on Quincey and Megan since the drama went down. They were basically on lockdown, with no way to chat with Whitney and with security on their tails whenever they stepped outside.
Megan was always venting to Quincey, blaming Whitney for all the trouble. In fact, Quincey was also upset but didn’t show it.
In fact, Quincey was not willing to take things lying down either. She hadn’t seen Thiago for over a week as he shunned her every time she went to him. She knew full well it had everything to do with Whitney. ‘Had it not been for Whitney coming back, I wouldn’t end up like this. And I might have even married Thiago already, Quincey thought wistfully.
“Megan, why don’t we go to City Square? We haven’t been there for a long time. It seems the store we frequent has a new style,” Quincey suddenly suggested.
Megan was enjoying her food and was not in the mood to go shopping at the moment. “Why bother? If you want new threads, just get them to deliver. No need to shop yourself”
“Don’t you want to go for a walk?” Quincey asked.
Megan smirked at that. City Square was always hopping, especially on weekends. Even with tails on them, the security dudes would be clueless if they slipped into different outfits.
“Okay, let’s go now!” Megan stood up excitedly. Thiago not only forbade her from getting close to Whitney but also banned her from going to the bar. After rejecting her friends‘ invites several times, she was starting to feel eager.
Quincey changed her clothes and left the house with Megan. After arriving at City Square, they went straight to their favorite store.
After entering, they found the familiar retail assistants. “Hey, let’s swap clothes later. You bounce in our outfits and dip out of here.”
“Okay,” the retail assistants agreed.
Quincey slipped into the employee’s gear and said, “I know you’ve been ditching your pals and are dying to party.”
“You know me well, Quincey. Not like Thiago gets me. If I hadn’t failed last time, Whitney would be history.” Megan still couldn’t let go of what happened last time and held a grudge over Hayden’s treatment of her.
Once they had the employee’s clothes on, the two retail assistants ducked out, and sure enough, the guards tailed them. Quincey and Megan watched from the backdoor, sneaking out the opposite way after the guards split.
They immediately went in the other direction. Suddenly, Megan’s phone rang, and she picked it up. “What’s up? Is there anything interesting happening today? I can come over now.”
“Okay, I’ll send you the address,” the caller replied.
Megan hung up the phone and said goodbye to Quincey. “I’m going there now, Quincey. You can go shopping first.”
Then, she walked to the back door. Seeing her leave, Quincey picked up her phone and called Jeremy.
“Ms. Ferguson.” Jeremy greeted her.
“Where is Mr. Mackenzie now?” she asked directly. All she wanted was to see Thiago and make things clear.
Jeremy squirmed a bit. Everybody knew Quincey didn’t mean much to Thiago anymore. He kept her around just for old times‘ sake.
“Now, you know the rules. You aren’t allowed to wander off, Ms. Ferguson, Jeremy warned.
Jeremy’s words enraged Quincey. “Are you questioning me now? I’m telling you. Thiago can only be mine.”
Jeremy kept silent, and that’s when Quincey overheard, “Hello! Welcome to Sunshine Hotel.”
Quincey smiled and took a taxi to Sunshine Hotel. Hitting the lobby, she spotted Whitney hitting the elevator for the 15th floor and tailed her. Upstairs, Thiago’s voice drew her down the hall.
But before she could confront Thiago, Whitney stepped out of another room. Thiago and Whitney were there for a project leaders meeting.
but Quincey wasn’t aware of that. Instead, her thoughts went in the other direction. Her jealousy cranked up a notch when she caught sight of Whitney, so she yanked Whitney into the stairwell.
“Are you doing this to mess with me? Calling Thiago here–what, you think you’ll snag him back now?” Quincey snapped.
Whitney just smirked–a look that got under Quincey’s skin. “Scared, are we?”
“No way!” Quincey shot back, but her guilt was showing.
Whitney dug in, teasing, “Sure, sure. Maybe I’ll see if my ex wants to revisit the good old days.”
Whitney’s mockery made Quincey more nervous. “Back off! Thiago’s mine, get it?” Quincey tried to stand her ground, her voice sharp as al
knife.
Whitney took a step back, almost reaching the stairs. A little more, and she would fall down the steps. “Actually, no one cares about your Thiago. I sure as heck don’t want him,” said Whitney
Quincey’s blood boiled and she lunged, aiming to push Whitney down the stairs. But Whitney dodged, and Quincey, throwing herself off balance, tumbled down instead. Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.
Her scream turned every head, and as people crowded around, Jeremy took the lead. He stopped Thiago in his tracks, “Ms. Ferguson took a fall, Mr. Mackenzie.”
Thiago’s eyes darted to Whitney, who looked like she could’ve been watching paint dry. She told him straight, “Cameras caught it all. I didn’t lay a finger on her.”
“Jeremy, send Quincey to the hospital immediately,” Thiago ordered.
Jeremy didn’t say anything more and called for the ambulance. He then took Quincey to the hospital with the staff.
The crowd dispersed, but a lot of gossip was flying around. People whispered how Quincey still hadn’t gotten Thiago to marry her and how she threatened to hurt Whitney. The crowd shook their heads, calling Quincey desperate and delusional, thinking Thiago would ever marry someone like her. They said she was just a plaything, and some figured Thiago was probably tired of her game, especially with Whitney being way out of her league.
In the hospital, Quincey slammed her phone against the wall. The rumors flying around were nasty as heck. The worst part? Thiago hadn’t shown up once. Five whole days, and nothing. Just a bunch of security guys camping outside her room like she was some sort of prisoner.
Thinking of Whitney’s smug look, Quincey gnashed her teeth in anger and wanted to rush out of the hospital to fight her.
