Chapter 500
Chapter 500 She Felt Guilty
Harper did not react much. Although she didn't know how to talk about it, she had already thought about it and was bound to say it. She couldn't possibly hide it because it wasn't about one person but about the Martin Group and the Martin family. Including so many people, she couldn't pretend that nothing had happened in order to hide it.
The whole day was spent in anxiety for Harper. Her mind was not at peace for a single moment, just like a student who was going to take an exam, nervous and worried.
But what had to be faced always had to be faced. No matter what, she couldn't hide from it.
Harper hadn't been at the office for the past two days, and Frank hadn't had any contact with her. However, he was still getting to and from work on time. It was Annie specifically enquiring with Sophia.
Annie couldn't help but say, "Frank is a highly scheming person. He has done so many things without any guilt or panic and is not afraid of being caught. Until now, Frank has no intention of escaping. What does he mean?"
Harper didn't respond. She remained in a state of ambivalence about this matter.
Frank had done all this for her. Although she did not accept the benefits of this approach, she could not really stay out of it. She felt that she was also responsible, so she felt guilty.
Benjamin arrived home just before six in the afternoon.
By then, Harper had returned to her apartment. As soon as he entered, Harper heard the door open and immediately walked out from the balcony. She said, "Benjamin, how did you get here so fast?" Glancing at her, Benjamin said as he changed his shoes, "I wanted to come back early to go out to dinner with you. Have you thought about what to eat?"
Harper thought earnestly. "Let's go for fondue, shall we?"
She hadn't had fondue in a long time and was a bit greedy. And fondue was well-suited for pregnant women.
Benjamin had no problem with it and naturally let her eat whatever she wanted.
Harper changed his clothes and then went out. While waiting for the elevator, Benjamin asked, "Should we call Annie to join us?"
"No, she's having pizza for dinner. She's been loving crawfish lately and tempts me every day."
She showed an aggrieved face.
Benjamin smiled faintly, "I'll take you for a treat when you can."
Harper nodded with a smile.
Neither of them ever spoke to each other again about what they had said on the phone during the day.
Benjamin took her to a nearby fondue restaurant. The two of them were seated by the window, and the whole atmosphere was very harmonious and pleasant.
He also took her to the supermarket afterward and bought some fruit and snacks she could eat.
Harper was now five months pregnant. But apart from the change in her belly, her limbs remained unchanged, and she didn't look like a pregnant woman at all.
It was nine o'clock at night when the two got home.
Benjamin put the stuff in the
refrigerator and then washed the fruit for her before saying, "I'm going to the study to deal with some work. Watch the TV by yourself for a while, okay?" en
"Okay." Harper nodded, not noticing the strangeness in his eyes.
Benjamin reached out and rubbed her hair, then headed for the study.
He closed the door and dialed Curtis' number directly.
He asked, "How's your investigation going? Have you got any results?" "Yes."
"Go ahead."
Curtis reported truthfully, "Mrs. Martin left the hospital yesterday and went to see Ms. Jones, then

Curtis' response caused Benjamin's expression to stiffen more.
He narrowed his eyes and asked indifferently, "Did she go in alone?"
"Yes. Ms. Jones didn't go in and kept waiting outside."
"So there is no way of knowing what happened and who was inside?"
Curtis already sensed that Benjamin was serious but answered truthfully, "So far, it is. So, do I have to keep checking?"
