Chapter 518 Tension
Chapter 518 Tension
Damien’s gentle tone reminded her of their past together years ago. At that time, they were still
together. It felt like time had turned back when he was the high and mighty president, and she was his
employee.
Clarissa cheered up again. She knew Damie would take care of her whenever things went wrong.
Clarissa unconsciously spun the table in her other hand around the table.
“Click.” The pen went flying away and made a clicking sound. Clarissa looked around, and found the
pen at Damien’s feet.
Damien was staring at the pen as well. He glanced at Clarissa, wondering if she would come and get it.
Clarissa changed her sitting posture and leaned in her chair. She kept her arms outstretched and flat
on the table. Clearly, she had no intention of picking it up.
Damien bent down and picked up the pen for her. Then, he handed it to her.
Damien was sitting on a single sofa. He was very close to Clarissa’s writing desk.
Clarissa reached out to take the pen.
As soon as she stretched out her hand, Damien retracted the pen, as if he was playing some magic
trick. He grabbed Clarissa’s wrist and pulled her over.
Clarissa ended up falling on top of him. She tried to struggle and break away, but Damien kept her
locked in his arms. He was laughing. “Here you are. Where do you want to run?”
Clarissa stopped moving. Her irritable and gloomy mood suddenly turned bright and cheerful again.
Damien’s presence probably improved her mood.
Even so, she refused to look at Damien.
“Hey, tell me. Why are you crying?” Damien looked at the woman in his arms.
A few days ago, Clarissa saw a question on Quora. What if your ex-husband wants to sleep with you
again after divorce? Many replied that it was just a physical need. If she had no partner, it would be
okay to just sleep with him. It wasn’t like she had never slept with him before. Sleeping with him once
or a hundred times had no difference.
Clarissa spent a night with him when she had just returned from Genovia. She could relate to the
question, so she had read all the answers to the question.
Clarissa also found it strange that she was crying for no apparent reason. She felt quite helpless, and
started behaving like a docile kitten.
She was sitting in a dangerous posture and might fall off. Therefore, she clung to Damien’s neck to
steady herself.
“Why are you so submissive this time? Are you doing this so I’d prioritize you over everything?” He
looked at the woman in his arms.
“What priority?” Clarissa stared at Damien in confusion.
“I knew Ray was lying. Why would a stubborn woman like you make such a request? Ray said I’m
looking for a wife, and you want me to consider you as a priority choice. Is that right?” Damien looked
up for a moment before lowering his gaze to meet Clarissa’s eyes.
Clarissa fell into a short silence. Ray must have said that to Damien to pair them back again. He lied to
Damien.
Besides, Ray told her someone else had posted the marriage ad for Damien. Before, Damien was
completely unaware of it. There was nothing to do about having a priority or not. After all, Damien
probably wasn’t planning to marry anyone else yet.
Clarissa wanted her son, but she was too afraid to be with Damien again. Why would she stay with a
murderer? If the closest person next to her pillow always had a knife in his hand, she would be scared,
wouldn’t she?
“Oh, I’m saying that on the premise of the child. If you don’t want to give me the child, I'd like to have
priority. If you lend me some money, that’ll be even better.”
Damien snorted. “You really like to use your charms to trick me. Shouldn’t you use them in bed too?”
Damien caressed Clarissa’s lips with his thumb.
Clarissa didn’t want to continue the bed talk, so she changed the subject and asked Damien, “When
are you leaving?”
“When do you want me to leave?” he asked in reply.
“There might be heavy snow later. The weather forecast mentioned it just a few days ago,” Clarissa
said.
She was thinking of a way to let Neil stay. She didn’t care about Damien’s whereabouts. He could do
whatever he wanted and leave whenever he felt like it. Besides, New East probably needed him.
Neither realized the sexual tension between them at this moment. They were flirting the way they did
years ago. They got along like a sc*mbag and a sl*t that kept flirting with each other and saying
unnecessary things. When the tension reached its peak, they would start getting intimate. When one All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.
wanted it but the other adamantly denied it, it turned into an ambiguous teasing game.
