Chapter 537 George Highmore
Chapter 537 George Highmore
Clarissa had always known that Iris wasn’t someone to be trifled with. She was cruel, ruthless, and
capable of anything. She was also a master at pushing the blame on other people, so Clarissa was
afraid that things would go wrong if she were to return to Lotharia. She wasn’t exactly crazy for money.
“How should I address you?” she asked the old man.
“My name’s George Highmore. Oh, right. Are you the one who asked for the SCARF album? I brought
it here for you.” After that, George pulled a vinyl record out of his bag.
Clarissa accepted it. She had asked Seth to bring her this from Lotharia. Why was George the one Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
giving it to her?
“You’re Seth’s…”
“Father. He’s my youngest son.” George smiled. “He really likes you. He came to the University of
Florin because he was being conferred the title of honorary professor, and I came with him. He asked
me to come to see you.”
Clarissa was speechless.
This was such a small world!
She felt like she had gone around the world, only to realize that everyone around her was still the same
people she had always known.
She didn’t know how to continue with the conversation.
“I’ve been married before,” she said.
“That’s beside the point. The important thing is that he likes you,” George said cheerily.
“But I’m still in love with my ex-husband…” Clarissa said after a pause.
“Oh.” George frowned. “I’ll tell Seth about this. Well then, Miss Johnson, I should get going. Let me
know when you’ve decided to go back to Lotharia. One more thing—has your doctor friend visited you
at the university lately?”
“You know her?”
“Yes, I sent someone to the hospital to ask around about you, and she mentioned that she was your
attending doctor. I saw a photo of her, so I can recognize her. We had a DNA test done with yours and
Iris’s samples, and you’re definitely her daughter.”
Clarissa nodded after half a heartbeat. So the people who had gone to Bethany’s hospital to investigate
her belonged to him, not Iris.
“Where did you see her?”
“Oh, I was thinking of going to your apartment to look for you, and I happened to see her looking at the
noticeboard. I only saw her side profile, but she looked like the woman in the picture. I just guessed she
was here to see you,” George said.
“I see. Thank you. I’ll let you know when I come to a decision.”
She had no idea what Bethany had been looking at.
“Alright, then. Seth and I are still staying at La Monde Hotel, and you can always come and tell me
when you’ve made up your mind. He’s been secretly looking into your past for the past few years, and
so have I. We were doing the same thing, but neither of us knew about it. It was only when he recently
told me that he’d fallen for a woman named Clarissa that I realized we were looking into the same
person. I told him everything, and he’s probably still trying to digest it. He’s been cooped up in the hotel
for the past few days. Look, he didn’t even come to see you despite being here. He probably didn’t
want you to feel awkward.” George smiled brightly at the mention of his son.
Clarissa looked out the window.
“Miss Johnson. The wind is starting to pick up, so I’ll be making a move first.”
“Take care of yourself,” she said.
A woman stood outside the door to the private room. When she heard the old man say that he was
going to leave, she hurried back to her seat and continued eating with her son. She acted as if nothing
had happened. Anyway, the old man didn’t know who she was.
It was Chanel.
