Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire

Chapter 921

Selena felt a bit stuck.

Everett wanted them to part ways for good, and he already had someone new. Honestly, she didn't want to keep bumping into him either; it just made moving on that much harder. Otherwise, she'd end up feeling blue every day.

So, she gently suggested to her son, "Mommy's got a lot on her plate today. How about Daddy picks you up? I'll come get you over the weekend, okay?"

Currently, Mateo stayed with Everett during school days and headed back to Maplewood for the weekends. Mateo wasn't thrilled about the arrangement and sulked in silence.

Before Selena could find the right words to persuade him, Everett chimed in with a sarcastic remark, "Busy with what? Signing a contract doesn't take all day, right?"noveldrama

Selena shot him a surprised look. What was with the snarky attitude? So, he could date around, but when she had business meetings, it was a problem? Total double standards!

She decided not to engage and acted like she didn't hear him. Crouching down to her son's level, she reassured, "Mateo, if you miss Mommy, give me a video call. Now hurry up, or you'll be late."

Despite his reluctance, Mateo was a good kid and turned to leave, glancing back every few steps.

As her son's figure disappeared, Selena didn't even look Everett's way and made her exit. She worried that if she stuck around any longer, she might just lose her cool.

Her indifference only made Everett more irritated, but he just stood there, hands in his pockets, watching her leave without stopping her.

Back in his car, he hit the steering wheel in frustration. Selena always seemed to move on so easily. She never even tried to fight for him, not in the slightest. She could just pivot and mix with other men for business, dine with them, chat, and flash them a friendly smile.

Everett was fuming, his expression stormy as he grabbed his phone to call Alex. "I need you to handle something right away..."

At Irwin Enterprises, inside the CEO's office, Selena was finishing up some paperwork. She glanced at the clock-already ten.

Slightly confused, she pressed the intercom, "Holt, could you come in for a sec?"

In no time, Holt entered.

Reviewing some files, Selena asked, "Hasn't Justin turned up yet?"

Holt looked just as puzzled, "No, hẹ hasn't. It's odd for Justin,

Selena nodded, "Yeah, please do."

is.

Just as Holt reached for his phone, the second assistant came in, "Ms. Selena, the supplier's rep is here."

Holt chuckled, "Talk about perfect timing."

Selena instructed, "Show them to the conference room. I'll be there shortly."

Second assistant: "Sure thing, Ms. Selena."

Selena tidied up her desk, got up, and adjusted her outfit before heading to the conference room with Holt.

Upon opening the door, instead of

Selena frowned, "What are you doing here? Where's Justin?"

Everett smirked, but his smile didn't reach his eyes, his tone cool and detached,

"Are you bummed to see me here?"

Not wanting to get into it with him,

Selena turned to Holt and said,
