Mistake With The Alpha Chapter 16
Samantha's POVAll content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
I looked at the lady that said that. I know her. She's one of the Alpha's favourite warriors. She's so huge and strong so I wouldn't dare talk back to her.
But then I was everything but obese. I wasn't even too fat to talk about being obese.
"Isn't that true?" She asked me when she saw me looking at her.
They were all laughing at me.
"Why won't she be obese? She's one of those dirty maids that eats leftovers from the table" another lady said.
"I hate fat people. They stink".
"What do you expect? They have dirt stored in their body".
I decided to ignore all those words and focus on my running since I know there's nothing I can do about it. They wouldn't say all these if the Alpha was around but he went to attend to some issues. They all use me as entertainment as I run. Comparing my legs and b**t to that of big ugly wild animals. This was really painful.
I wasn't huge nor was I too fat. If it was the human world, it wouldn't have been a big deal. I don't know why it's a big deal to add up a little in our pack. Must everyone be as dry a burnt bacon? I didn't look up all through the run. I even gave my earpiece a louder volume so as to block all voices. Thank goodness for the sweat that hid my sorrowful tears, if not the mockery would have been too much.
I ran to the extent that it got to a stage where my legs were killing me but I couldn't bring myself to stop. The pain in my heart was too much to notice the pain in my body.
"Sam" Crystal called me but I didn't reply to her. "You have to stop now" she said but I still wouldn't answer.
Since three days ago Crystal and I have been so close. The Alpha even made me take her on a run every night. This made her so happy and sometimes she wouldn't even stop talking.
No matter how tired I was, I would take her out for a run. She isn't hiding anymore and now we even joke together. She's the one that made this punishment bearable for me. Now I realised what I've been missing all the while.
"Won't you answer me?" I heard.
I knew that wasn't Crystal's voice because it sounded so manly and firm. I halted to see who it was but unfortunately for me my leg wobbled and I fell. I quickly removed the earpiece in my ears, so I could hear chuckling from people not far away.
I tried to stand up so I could go meet the Alpha before another outburst of anger but I couldn't. My body was in serious pain. I groaned not wanting to scream. The pain was just so overwhelming that I wondered what I'd done to myself.
The Alpha began to move closer in his graceful steps and this scared me. I hated to be weak but it seems like I'm too weak to help my weakness.
Everywhere was silent because the alpha is around but I know as soon as he leaves again, they will begin to have their fun with me. This is going to go for days if not for the rest of my life.
Now the Alpha is standing before me and I bowed sorrowfully not wanting to see the rage in the Alpha's eyes. His hands were in akimbo. I could feel his fierce look on me.
"How did I mess up my hidden life?" I thought.
"You didn't, everyone makes mistakes and faces the consequences," Crystal said.
"But my consequences are just unbearable," I said to her.
"How many lapses did I tell you to run?" The Alpha's powerful voice came out that I shook.
"Fifty" I cracked.
"Why then haven't you stopped running?"
I sniffed trying not to cry."
Apologies Alpha, I lost count" I said trying to keep a stable voice.
My voice was shaking because I was trying not to cry.
"Dummy" he hissed. "Now get up and leave" he ordered and left without even trying to help me.
Just as the Alpha left, they resumed their talk.
"Don't you see how she fell like an elephant?"
"Did she think the Alpha was coming to help her?"
I didn't even bother to look at them. I was expecting it.
"How will the Alpha stoop so low to help this dirt, ugly low life?"
"She intentionally fell to attract the Alpha's pity but all she got was his anger".
"Won't you be angry if you have such a lazy big cow as a pack member? What usefulness is she?"
"I won't only get angry, I would have sent her a rogue for a long while".
It's not that I'm interested in their talk. I would have left if the pain wasn't too much. It seems like I have sprained my ankle. None even volunteered to help me. Not even the male. They just watched me as I sat there. Some mocked me while some continued with what they were doing like I didn't exist.
Well I was very disappointed in our pack's warrior. I didn't hear such news from them. They are so heartless. I was sad that I once admired these heartless people. Well since I had no choice, I sat on the ground to wait for the pain to reduce and I'll be able to move. All their words were so hurtful that even if I didn't want to cry, the pain wouldn't let me. I just bowed there with my eyes watering like a flowing stream.
"Let me help" I saw a hand stretched towards me.
