Chapter 50
{Handle My Business}
Author POV.
If only Ava Addams could predict what the day holds for her, she would have changed a lot of things. Including having such a secretive conversation around Nadaline’s residence. There’s no point in crying over spilt milk. What she wants to do is to avoid anything that will make things go offside.
“Have you thought of becoming a stripper? ” Janice blurted out, Ava’s reaction was beyond extraordinary. She was not expecting such a question from her. Is this some kind of joke?
“W.. h… a.. t?! ” She stuttered, perplexed at the offer.
“It’s a question Ava, why are so surprised over–”
“Surprise??? Anyone in my shoes will. I wasn’t expecting such a question would come from you–” Ava stuttered, looking dumbfounded… Her brain literally stops working for minutes.
“I guess you are taking this out of what I expected from you. Have you thought of becoming a stripper? ” She asked again, her facial expressions had nothing to predict or think of.
“What the fuck is on Janice’s mind? Ava thought before she thought of getting her a response.
“STRIPPER? Of course not, I just want to open a fashion brand. Nothing more. And why would I think of such? Ava calmly replies and opens Nada’s door. It’s obvious she isn’t ready to further the conversation at that moment.
“Oh, Ava. ” Madam Nada called and beckoned her to come over.
“Janice, can you get my luggage? Need to get myself on a month-long vacation. ” She uttered, making Ava and Janice cease instantly.
“Vacation? They said in unison, Why the sudden need for vacation? ” Ava asked as she sat down next to her.
“I have nothing to explain about it. But I think I need it, just want to clear my head and have enough rest_”
“Rest! Boss, This isn’t the time to talk about having a fucking vacation, who’s going to handle your business why you are away– ”
“Business? Her business is not just the clubbing house, Janice. She isn’t running just the clubbing house alone. ” Ava cut in, letting out a stressful groan.
“That’s why I’m going to hand them to you Ava. This isn’t your first or second time you visit other shops. So I think you can handle it. Coming to the clubbing house you and Ava are to handle it. But Ava, you are the boss over it, if you think you need someone to talk about things to, Janice is there, she is open to have any questions from you. She paused, and shut her eyes. Looking stressed, how obvious she needs the vacation. ”
“How are you feeling boss? ” Janice asked as she brought forward her hand to touch her shoulders.
“Just feeling dizzy, but I will be fine. Janice, you are still in charge of the strippers and the securities. Make sure everything goes well and has no issues… ” She uttered in a conclusive tone, but suddenly stopped.
“Each secretary will forward their daily statement to me, so don’t worry about the profits and loss.. My accountant will file everything to me.. Just make sure you go and check up on them, so you won’t feel bored at home, alone. But the clubhouse is in your hands Ava, same thing goes to Janice… Carry Ava along with any decisions you are to make. ” She elaborate and they nod quietly.
“We promise to run it smoothly and report back to you. ” Janice replied, with her hands joined together.
“So where are you going now? ” Ava asked, with a breaking voice.
“Malawi… My third home. It’s just a month you kids.. Stop giving me those creepy faces. ” She joked and they laughed…
“How many boxes boss? “Janice asked and she stood up to get them.
“Just three. ” She replied and everyone got busy.NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.
“Oh before I forget, who held Friday’s special party when I was with Dalton? ”
“Ava did, it went well, as you have been handling it. ” Janice responded with a wink.
“Oh, my darling is growing. That’s nice and kind of you baby girl. It’s a goal, let’s see how a month will go. ” Nadaline smiled genuinely, as she planted a kiss on her forehead.
“Let’s get the bags ready, girls. She sounds excited as she leads them to her cloth closet.
There Hours After.
Ava, Janice and Nadaline were outside, arranging her luggages in her car. Janice kept sighing, which got Ava’s attention but ignored it and focused on Nadaline.
“Promise me you won’t last more than just a month. ” Ava asked, looking so serious.
“I promise, ” She smiled and hugged them both.
“Be careful out there and watch each other’s backs. Ava, take good care of Janice and the same thing goes to you Janice… I’m sure you both can take care of each other. “She whispered her last words and let out a charming smile as she got in and ignited the engine, the tires rolled and she drove out, our hands waving as we bid ourselves goodbye.
Ava POV.
I wasn’t expecting her to suggest a sudden vacation, I wanted to convince her to stay back but I don’t know how to and her face showed how bad she really needs a rest.
Looking at how far and far the sight of her car has gotten made me realize she really did leave. Will I be fine alone? That’s a thought alone but either way, I have always wanted to be free. No rules, just me and no one else.
“What are you thinking about? ” Janice asked, she pulled me out of my thoughts.
“Wondering if am going to be fine, alone–”
“You are not alone, I will drop by once in a while to check on you. ” She mumbled, tapping my shoulder. “You will be fine, don’t worry. ” She whispered and stopped when she remembered something.
“Prepare yourself Ava, this business needs someone smart and friendly.. Just keep smiling at the customers. That’s the only way you won’t have issues with some customers. ”
“Seriously, you really think I will stress myself out approaching a customer, I will only check how smooth they are going and leave. I’m not the one doing the marketing of these things. The main thing she said I should watch after is the clubhouse. ” I replied, shutting the door behind me.
“Exactly what am I saying? Some men are just annoying, they won’t want to rock with strippers but the person coordinating it or the person in charge–”
“I guess I have to be careful–”
“You really need to be. ”
“I’m off to freshen up then we can both hang out or what do you think? ”
“I’m fine with it. ” Janice giggled and we both wink at each other.
(Laughter in the background…)
