Chapter 28
Chapter 28
Augustine's long and narrow eyes swept over Vivianna's face. It was obvious that she would give in and agree to his request.
"Daddy, is your house big? Is it nice? Are there any toys?" Zephaniah was already excited as he looked forward to seeing his house.
"Have you seen a castle before?" Augustine asked.
"I've seen one before! It's huge," Zephaniah answered. Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
"Daddy lives in a castle," he stated.
"Wow! Daddy is indeed super rich," the little guy exclaimed. Then, he turned around to look
at Vivianna and said, "Mommy, I didn't lie to you! Daddy is wealthy."
Vivianna was speechless. Does his wealth have anything to do with her?
"Daddy, let me tell you something! A bad woman bullied mommy the other day. Daddy, you must back her up. Don't let her be bullied again," he continued.
Augustine immediately fixed his eyes on Vivianna. His gaze was deep and enigmatic, and no one could discern his thoughts.
Vivianna blushed in embarrassment. She glanced at the little guy sternly and said, "Don't talk nonsense about me, I wasn't bullied."
The little guy blinked his large eyes and he was obviously disappointed. At this time, Augustine smiled suddenly and said, "Well, I'll support your mommy. Tell me, who's that bad woman?"
Vivianna was astounded. Was this man telling the truth? Or was he lying to her son?
"Mommy, what's the name of that bad woman? You can tell daddy!" Zephaniah urged her.
"I can deal with most people, and I don't need any help," Vivianna said in a stiff tone. She just wanted to keep a distance from this man, so why would she ask for his help?
Besides, wasn't he going to bring her to court? If it weren't for her son's excitement, she wouldn't have agreed to have dinner at his house tonight.
Of course, she didn't need to go. She could just find an excuse to decline the invitation. However, she could not just watch this man take away her son. What if he used some disingenuous means to win over her son, and cause him to prefer his company?
No, she had to follow them. She knew that if she wanted to win this lawsuit, her son had to stand by her side.
At this moment, her cell phone rang. She picked it up from her bag and found that Linda was calling her.
She glanced at her son and said, "Mommy is heading out to answer this call."
After that, she walked out of the office quickly while answering the call.
"Hi, Linda," she said.
"Vivianna, I have no choice. Mrs. Lambert insists on meeting with you. Do you have time to come over now?" Linda asked.
"I... I have some..." Before she could finish her words, Linda's phone was snatched away.
"Let me talk to her!" It was Jessamyn's voice.
Vivianna tensed up immediately. She heard Jessamyn's angry voice. "Vivianna, is this how you deal with work matters? Have you heard of the saying, "the customer is king"? Do you know how much I'm willing to pay for your designs? Regardless of what you are doing now, show up in front of me quickly, or I'll make a complaint about you."
Vivianna bit her lips and said, "Okay, I'll come over now."
"Yes, It will be good for you to come over. I just discovered that your boss is connected to Lambert Enterprise. If I want you fired, it will happen in a minute." After saying that, Jessamyn sneered and hung up the phone.
Vivianna's nostrils flared due to her anger. Jessamyn was crossing the line. She had endured her actions four years ago. After four years, would she still be tortured by her?
However, she needed this job. If she lost her job, how could she win the lawsuit against Augustine? Would the court allow her to raise her son without a job? Therefore, this job became even more meaningful and important to Vivianna.
Vivianna turned around and pushed open the door of the luxurious office. Inside the office, Augustine was chatting with the boy. Vivianna walked over, glanced at the man, and then looked at her son. "Zeph, I'll take you home now to play with Miss Winslow, alright?"
"Aren't we having dinner at daddy's house tonight?" The little guy said expectantly.
"I know. Mommy will take you there after I get off work, okay?" she said.
Augustine raised his perfectly arched eyebrows and he smirked. "Why bother? Leave Zeph to me. I don't feel at ease, leaving him with outsiders."
