Mummy, Daddy is on his knees

Chapter 3_ Out on the street

Olivia took in a deep breath and pressed the doorbell, almost immediately a footstep was heard approaching..

The door opened and a lady came into view, she was putting on a blue jean pants and a pink colored top, an apron hung lazily around her waist.

“Hi Mrs Greg”

“Oh hi Olivia.. please come in Bianca was just talking about you”

Mrs Greg’s eyes fell on the blue luggage beside Olivia.

“Well come in..” she murmured and moved back for Olivia to step in.

“Honey Olivia is here..” Olivia heard Mrs Greg called out and few seconds later Bianca ran down the stairs hurriedly..

Her gaze fell on Olivia and then to her luggage, it took her only a second to understand everything..

“Come here” Bianca murmured and pulled Olivia into an embrace..

Mrs Greg stood at a corner staring keenly at the two, she wondered what they were up to and why Olivia was at her house with her luggage…

“It’s okay.. you can stay with us I’m sure mum won’t mind”

Mrs Greg cleared her throat to gain their attention, she smiled sweetly at Olivia..

“Dear make yourself comfortable, Bianca I need to see you in the kitchen Now!”

Mrs Greg listened patiently to her daughter’s explanation.

“At least let her stay here.. Olivia is not a burden”

“That girl is pregnant! don’t you know how that can affect you and I negatively?”

Bianca placed a palm over her mum’s mouth to hush her down..

“Softly mum, she’s right outside and please think about it.. do you really want her living on the street?”

“She has a mother and a few relatives right? if it were to be a different situation I might have considered, but honey she’s pregnant, this won’t be good for you..

“I understand Mrs Greg and Bianca I think your mum is right” Olivia who suddenly came in spoke out..

She had expected this to happen, like seriously no one would like to take in a pregnant lady, if her mum could kick her out on the streets she expected more from outsiders..

“I only dropped by to see Bianca one more time before I leave for Norway to stay with my aunt”

Bianca’s jaw dropped in shock, Norway?

“What? but your aunt is so mean, how can your mum let you stay with someone like her?”

Olivia’s eyes teared up, she forced a tight smile at her best friend..

“I’ll be fine Bianca.. don’t forget to beep me everyday”

Bianca’s eyes welled up in tears, she couldn’t believe that this might be the last time she sees Olivia..

They both shared a brief warm hug which left Cassie, Bianca’s mum emotional from the sight before her..

Olivia pulled away from Bianca and turned around to leave..

“Olivia” Cassie called out to see Olivia turn to her, she nervously smiled rubbing her palm against her jean pants..

“Yes Mrs Greg?”

“You can stay with us.. after all it has always been I and Bianca all along another addition to the family wouldn’t hurt”

Bianca and Olivia exchanged brief gazes before they jumped into Cassie’s arm..

“Oh! easy girls” She chuckled and planted small kisses on their foreheads..Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

Days rolled by so fast into months and the due date for Olivia’s delivery came..

Bianca and Cassie could be seen pacing around in front of a door, Olivia was just taken in..

“Mum how long does it take? will she be alright?”

Cassie placed her hands on her daughter’s shoulder, she guided her to a metal seat for her to have a sit..

“Relax.. Olivia is a strong girl.. she’ll do it”

Cassie had to encourage her daughter, she had seen the flame burning in Olivia’s eyes countless of times and she could tell that Olivia was a strong girl..

Thirty minutes passed by before the door opened and a doctor stepped out.

“Umm.. how’s she?”

The doctor smiled at the both of them “Congratulations Mrs Greg.. your daughter just gave birth to a baby boy”

Bianca jumped out of excitement, she was glad that both mother and child were alright..

“Can we see them now?”

Olivia sat up when the nurse handed her baby wrapped in a white neat showl..

“It’s a boy” Bianca chirmed, she looked obviously elated about the news..

Cassie took a peek at the baby in the showl and was marveled..

“If he were to be a grownup.. I’d have asked him if we had met before” Cassie joked which earned a loud laughter from the girls..

Bianca noticed the look that crossed Olivia’s face, though it was for a second, she still managed to read it..

Her son looked nothing like her at all, which only meant his looks were all inherited from his father..

The trio snapped their gaze to the door when it was pushed open to reveal a woman..

Her eyes were teary as she slowly approached them.

“You silly girl.. you didn’t think it was right to tell me about my grandson” Sandy said with a painful smile..

Olivia pulled her gaze away from her mother’s, she didn’t want to look at her in the face even though deep down she wanted her mum to give her a tight warm embrace..

Bianca stood up from the bed and stood in front of Sandy..

“And why should she inform you? you clearly threw her out on the street..

“Bianca!” Cassie called out..

Cassie took in a deep breath and faced Olivia who was now sobbing hard..

“Your mum never left you Olivia.. she called everyday to check up on you.. she sent supplements and most of the meals you had during your pregnancy were also sent by her”

Olivia shifted her gaze back to Cassie, now to think of it she once asked Cassie why her meals taste just like her mum’s and now everything made sense..

“Really?”

Sandy walked closer to the bed and took a seat next to Olivia..

“I’m sorry for everything.. I only did that for my selfish interest to save our family’s name from embarrassment.. now I think I’m really an awful mother for doing that.. please forgive me my dear”

Olivia took in a deep breath and placed her child in her mum’s hands..

“Here is your grandson mum.. isn’t he cute?” Olivia murmured amidst tears..

Sandy’s smile broadened as she stared down at the tiny frame in her arms..

“What should we call him?” Cassie asked stroking Olivia’s hair softly..

“Kelvin”

Damien raised his phone angrily to his ear, he glared at the two men in front of him..

“Fine, check the records” He ordered and threw his phone on the desk before him..

“Boss we’ve searched everywhere but we couldn’t find her”

“It’s been over nine months and I get the same news every single day! it’s just a lady, she couldn’t possibly be a ghost to vanish into thin air completely!”

The two men swallowed, how could they tell their boss that they didn’t get to see her face properly because there was a blackout that night at the hospital..

The only detail they were able to get about her was her glowing amber eyes..

“We will find her soon boss” One of the guards said..

Damien dismissed them and tugged his tie in annoyance, he needed to find that lady because he owed her a lot.

That night was also her first time, and he had promised to take responsibility for his actions but before he woke up, she already disappeared..

Olivia placed her baby in the cot after he fell asleep, she walked towards the opened window in her room and stared at the stars that spread across the sky like glitters.

The wind blew gently on her face, she couldn’t help but recall everything she passed through in the last couple of month..

“Dad.. I wish you were here.. your daughter has gone through a lot” She sobbed gently.

She heard a footstep behind her and soon after Bianca placed an arm around her shoulder, both of them smiled and continued staring at the sky..

“So what’s your next plan”

Olivia smirked at the question Bianca just asked, she didn’t have a reply to that now but only time will tell..

Six years later…

Two young men followed a blonde lady around the mall as she shopped for dresses..

She picked out a red gown from a hanger and placed it over her body and immediately a picture of her was taken..

“Wow! so sexy!” One of the guys lustfully remarked zooming in the picture to get a proper look at what he just took..

“Excuse me” A little yet powerful voice called out to the two grown-up men..

They both turned their attention to the little boy who was glaring hard at them with his burning grey orbs..

“And you are?”

“Why are you spying on my mummy?” He asked knotting his brows together..

The two men laughed hard at him, they turned back to the lady who seemed to be searching for something or someone perhaps..

“Run along child! she’s also our mummy” One of them joked and they both laughed out loud..

And in the next minute their laughter died down when the kid pushed them down from the stool they were both standing on, they fell out of their hiding place and came tumbling down before the lady they were spying on..

“And that will teach you not to spy on people!”

The lady raised her head when she heard the little boy’s voice..

“Kelvin”

Olivia called out and walked towards her son “They were spying on you and I had to teach them a quick lesson!”

Olivia’s lips formed an ‘o’ shape, she turned back to the two men who were still groaning on the floor..

“Definitely serves you two right!” She picked up the phone that one of them was trying to reach and as expected they took pictures of her trying out every dresses she picked out today.

She deleted the photos and stepped her foot on their hands..

“Don’t try to mess with my mummy again!” Kelvin warned..

Bianca gasped when she saw the little commotion going on..

When she got nearer, she shut her eyes briefly, this mother and son duo were really so protective of each other.

“What happened?”
