Upon seeing the caller ID showing Lizzie, Skylar answered right away.

“Did you see the news?” Lizzie asked.

“Yeah, I just saw it,” Skylar replied.

“What’s the deal with this Ned? He looks almost identical to Joe. If no one told me they were two different people, I would think they were the same person,” Lizzie said, still in shock.

It had been a long time since she had been surprised like this.

“I saw Ned last night at the charity gala mentioned in the news. He really does look exactly like Joe in person,” Skylar added.

Lizzie hadn’t expected Skylar to meet Ned and felt a wave of concern wash over her. “You’re okay, right?” she asked.

Skylar hadn’t developed any new romantic feelings in the three years, and it was clear she hadn’t moved on from Joe. Now, with someone who looked just like him appearing, all the feelings and memories she had buried deep inside would likely resurface.

She understood this feeling all too well. It was something only those who had experienced it could truly grasp.

For some people, once feelings were locked away in their hearts, they might never be able to make room for anyone else for the rest of their lives.

“I’m fine. I see that some people are already trying to stir the pot, dragging you and Vera into it. Are you facing any trouble?” Skylar asked with a smile.

“No trouble at all. I have a concert coming up in a few days, along with some other performances, so this gives me a chance for free publicity,” Lizzie said nonchalantly. She welcomed any opportunity for free promotion.

After chatting a bit more, they ended the call. Just as Skylar hung up, another call came in from Natalie. Her questions mirrored Lizzie’s, but after reassuring her, another call came in

from Steven.

“Are

you coming home tonight?” he asked.

“Mom is organizing a company team–building event, so I’ll be there with her and some employees. Were you worried about me after seeing the news about Ned, Steven?” Skylar inquired.

Steven chuckled softly. “You have always been smart. Hearins ask that means you’re fine.

Ned really does look a lot like Joe.”

He held back his true feelings. Ned was not just similar–he was almost a carbon copy.

After three long years, Steven felt relieved that skylar had begun to heal from her emotional wounds. If a stranger suddenly appeared and stirred up her feelings again, it would have been better for her to wait a little longer before returning to Jipsburg.

“Yeah,” Skylar replied, her mind drifting back to the image of Ned from yesterday.

A person’s gaze could never lie.

Once she regained her composure, she recalled how he looked at her, there was none of the warmth she once knew. Instead, there was only a chilling indifference.

So, he was not Joe. If he were really Joe, he would never have looked at her that way. NôvelDrama.Org holds this content.

Skylar snapped back to reality and said, “Yeah, no one can hurt me anymore. Don’t worry, Steven.”

By the time they arrived at the dress design studio, it was already noon. The designer had been waiting eagerly for Minerva to arrive.

Skylar lounged on the couch, enjoying the sight of Minerva trying on various dresses. Minerva had a fantastic figure, and the designer’s creations fit her perfectly, highlighting the unique features of each gown. It was truly a visual delight.

“How does this one compare to the last?” Minerva asked, standing in front of the mirror. She

scrutinized her reflection but still felt unsatisfied.

Skylar walked over, nodded, and said, “I think this dress isn’t as nice as the third one you tried on earlier.”

“I agree. The third one felt way more comfortable when I had it on,” Minerva replied.
