My Stone-Hearted Billionaire Husband

Chapter 51: I Want To Go Home With You

The room remained silent in total suspense as Kourtney and Sebastian locked eyes.

It was as if time stood still, and the rest of the world faded into the background. The entire room watched the both of them keenly, eyes fixed on the couple like an audience watching a captivating play or soap opera.

Kourtney took a deep breath, her heart pounding in her chest. She was standing here, face to face with the strange man she had married just about a week ago, yet it felt…. so undeniably RIGHT!

Sebastian’s lips curled into a small smile as he took three steps forward, closing the distance between them.

“Kourtney,” his cold voice was filled with affection. His sharp and icy tone from earlier suddenly replaced by a cool and soothing tone.

A wave of emotions washed over Kourtney as she looked into his eyes. She felt a connection, a spark that she couldn’t explain. It was as if they had known each other for a lifetime, even though they had barely scratched the surface.

Somehow, she felt the need to embrace him, like her whole life depended on it.

She sniffled and looked up at him through tear-filled eyes before giving him a warm embrace. It happened so FAST, like a reflex action she couldn’t avoid.

In a surprising turn of events, Kourtney, who was not one to show vulnerability, hugged Sebastian tightly. It was a gesture that showed she needed comfort and reassurance, a silent acknowledgment of the pain she had endured.

Due to their height difference, her head rested on his chest. She felt quite safe and protected in her husband’s embrace.

Meanwhile, Sebastian blinked blankly for a second. He was completely taken aback at first but quickly returned the hug by putting his big, muscular arms around her.

‘Are Pigs flying?’ he thought.

Sebastian knew that there was no way on earth this stubborn and kick-ass woman would have taken the initiative to cling to him like this UNLESS she was feeling terribly sad and downcast. He frowned as he pondered the injustice she must have endured at the hands of these people.

It was evident that something had happened to upset her deeply, and his protective instincts kicked in. He started thinking of ways to annihilate them from the face of the earth!

Kourtney was only a young woman who was not yet 24, and being treated unfairly by her own family like this was sure to break her spirit.

He could see the pain and vulnerability in her eyes, and it broke his heart. In the short time they’ve known each other, he knew Kourtney was a strong and independent woman, never one to show her emotions openly.

But today, she had let her guard down in front of him and so many other people.

He held her just as tightly, feeling anger towards those who had mistreated his wife. He wanted to be her rock, her safe haven, the one she could always turn to for comfort and support.

He would do whatever it took to protect her, as long as she stayed by his side.

His arms enveloped her, holding her close as if he never wanted to let her go. And then, he pressed a soft kiss to her forehead, his lips lingering there for a moment. He would destroy the world for her if need be.

Kourtney’s heart skipped a beat at the touch of Sebastian’s lips, and she blushed shyly breaking their hug. Everyone’s eyes were glued to them at this point.

Her cheeks were red and hot while they remained standing, mere inches apart from each other.

“You’re late,” she pouted her lips, playfully scolding him.

Sebastian chuckled and rubbed the back of his neck. It seems like the sassy and audacious Kourtney is back. So soon!

He remained stunned, staring down at her for a good while before saying: “My apologies, my dear. I should have come sooner but the weather for flight was delicate and risky.”

“I’m here now. I won’t let anyone hurt you again,” he added in a whisper, his voice filled with a tenderness he hadn’t used before, and then he pressed another soft kiss to her forehead.

“Hmmm…. Okay,” Kourtney nodded, feeling a sense of understanding between them.

She snuggled closer to him again, a contented smile on her face. She was behaving like a little baby who needed comfort in his arms but she couldn’t help it.

Another half a minute of them being touchy and cuddly passed while the onlookers watched in awe.

Brandon stood there like a ghost, frozen in shock beside Kathlyn as they watched the romantic scene unfold.

“What the hell happened?” he muttered under his breath, his eyes fixed on Kourtney and Sebastian. “Did she cheat on me the whole time?”

Just last week, Kourtney was still engaged to him, and now she was married to THE Sebastian Woods, all of a sudden? And they were behaving so affectionately like they’ve known each other for a long, long time.

‘What had happened? Was Kourtney cheating on me with him all along?’

The questions kept swirling in his mind like a storm, making him feel dizzy and disoriented.

He felt like throwing up all the food he had just eaten there was such a bitter taste in his mouth.

How could this be?

He had always looked up to Sebastian Woods as his idol, following his footsteps and wanting to be just like him, a God-like figure in the business world. But now, his beloved idol ended up marrying his ex-fiancee without any explanation or warning. It was all too much for Brandon to handle.

“Were you hurt?” Sebastian asked Kourtney with a sly smile on his face, breaking the dead silence once more.

He stared at her gorgeous face and he just couldn’t get over how stunning she looked.

Kourtney had noticed the shock and admiration shining from his eyes when she first made her way to the living room. It made her feel even more confident in her choice of dress.

Sebastian had been staring at her like she was the most precious thing on earth, and this was more than enough to make her cheeks heat up.

“I… I’m fine. I just…. I was grounded and locked in my room ’cause everybody here thinks I’m crazy for saying I married you, ” Kourtney complained while snuggling her nose up his chest in a coquettish manner.

Her lips were pouted like that of a spoilt child…

Today, she seemed to be in her element, playing the part of the damsel in distress with ease.

Sebastian turned to the spectators, his gaze piercing through each and every one of them like knives. His eyes narrowed as he scowled at them, the air thick with his domineering presence.

“Well… I was going to stay here for a while to join the lunch party but, it seems like my in-laws are not….. reasonable humans after all. What kind of family locks up and prevents a grown-ass woman from getting out of her room in this century? You’re all a bunch of idiots!” his tone was laced with condescension as if they were the most rotten people he’d ever seen.NôvelDrama.Org © content.

Hearing Sebastian drag her family name through the mud, Grandma Florence finally found her voice. She stepped forward looking so pale, sickly, and guilt-stricken. She looked like she’d aged from being in her 70’s to 90’s since Sebastian arrived 10 minutes ago.

“Yyoung Master Woods, my apologies! It wasn’t our intention to…” she trailed off as Sebastian cut her off with a rude interruption.

“Save it!” he barked, his voice dripping with disdain.

At this point, Sebastian did not care if the Old Woman was Kourtney’s grandmother. Neither did he care if these people were Kourtney’s family or not. All he knew was that they did not deserve an iota of respect from him.

“You locked up my wife like a prisoner! She’s my responsibility now, do you know how worrying it is for me? I’ve seen clowns like you all come and go. So…. know your place.” Sebastian remarked coldly as he continued to berate them.

The words hung in the air like a challenge, daring anyone to disagree with him. He was so clearly consumed by anger and wanted vengeance for his wife.

“And as for the gifts I had bought for all of you, including the luxury cars and boxes of gold bars right here, they will all be returned. I see You people don’t deserve them.”

The room fell silent as everyone digested Sebastian’s words. The entire Allen family, especially Margaret, Luke, and Grandma Florence, felt ashamed. They all looked extremely frustrated at the loss, their eyes pleading with Kourtney to intervene.

But Kourtney seemed oblivious to the tension in the room. She was lost in her own world as she snuggled closer to Sebastian. Her head remained buried in his chest as if she didn’t want to look at them – the people who caused her pain and sadness.

The truth was, she just really wanted Sebastian to take her away after all that she had endured. She did not want to spend any more seconds in the Allen Mansion. Instead, she couldn’t wait to go home with him.

She could feel his heartbeat as she continued to enjoy the warmth of being in his arms.

She felt safe and protected as if shielded from the rest of the world and the baggage that comes with them. She was also lost and confused, unsure of what was happening or why she felt so drawn to this man. All she knew was she wanted to remain in his arms and then go HOME together with him.

Her mind raced as she tried to make sense of everything.

‘Why? Why do I trust him so much?’

Kourtney couldn’t help but wonder why she was so eager to go stay with this man, whom she barely knew just a week ago. They had married out of the blue, and yet, she felt an inexplicable connection to him.

She raised her head and looked at the man who appeared like her knight in shining armor.

“You don’t need to take back everything you’ve brought. Can… can we just leave? I want to go home with you,” she spoke up, her voice soft and hesitant.

She subconsciously placed her hand on his back as if trying to calm down her husband’s wrath.
