No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric)

When Noelle took out her phone, the entire room fell silent.

Xenia shivered in fear and turned to Donovan. "I wanna get some rest, Donovan. I don't want to stay here and see Gordon anymore. That disgusting freak."

"Wait, there's no rush." Blake blocked her way and taunted, "Weren't you confident? Now that you're feeling guilty, you're trying to run away?"

A moment ago, Xenia was acting like she was going to convict Noelle. But now that there was a video, she was trying to escape.

Xenia's eyes flickered with diffidence. "The truth is obvious that I'm the victim here. Nothing happened to Noelle anyway."

Why couldn't they just let her go? Noelle played the video. Though the lightning

was dim, it was clear that Gordon was pressing down on Xenia.

Donovan turned away and instructed, "Turn up the volume." This wasn't something he should watch as the eldest brother of the Liddells.

Soon, Gordon's curses came from the video. "So what if you're from a rich family? Now you're just like a defenseless woman like any other! Xenia won't let you off that easily since you've offended her "

Upon hearing that, Frank immediately slapped Xenia's face. "What do you have to say for yourself now? How could you be so vicious?"

He'd never expected Xenia to go as far as to have Gordon do something like that! As an adopted daughter, how dare she!

Blake turned to Donovan. "You heard that, didn't you? The truth is clear that Xenia orchestrated all of this! This is who she really is!"

Donovan looked as if he'd just suffered a heavy blow. He looked up at Noelle, and his expression carried a hint of guilt, yet he didn't know what to say.

Just then, Gordon shouted, "I-I was drunk and talking nonsense! This was all my doing, and I received orders from no one! Ms. Liddell wanted to kick me out, so I did it out of resentment!"

He took the blame for everything. Upon hearing that, Xenia finally relaxed. Now, none of this had anything to do with her. She started crying pitifully.

"Donovan, I understand Noelle has never liked me, but I've never harbored any bad intentions toward her, and I'd never do anything that cruel! Plus, am I not the real victim?"

Feeling soft-hearted after hearing her pleas, Donovan helped her up. "I know that's not who you are."

Blake scoffed. "Xenia, this is what it means to shoot yourself in the foot. Serves you right!"

"That's enough! Can't you see how miserable Xenia is?"

Donovan kicked Gordon and said, "Lock him in the basement. We'll send him to the police tomorrow."

Noelle's voice was mocking when

she said, "Why not call the police now? Didn't Xenia say there was something wrong with the milk'I gave her? Let's do a blood test right now to see if she actually drank it."

Xenia panicked because she hadn't drunk the milk. She quickly turned to Donovan and said, "Let's not call the police now. If this gets out, it'll damage the Liddell family's

reputation, and I don't want people

to know about this."

If the police investigated and found something, she was doomed.

Donovan nodded. "As sensible as always, Xenia. Go back to your room and take a shower. We'll talk about this tomorrow."noveldrama

"Stop right there. Did I say you could leave? It isn't up to you to call the police." Noelle hadn't expected Donovan to insist on protecting Xenia even with such solid evidence.

Donovan walked up to her and

chided in a commanding tone, "Enough! You could've stopped this from happening, but you stood by and watched as Xenia was assaulted instead. Do you think you did the right thing?"

Noelle lifted her head and snapped, "That's what they say to reap what you sow. She deserved it."

Everyone in the room knew the truth deep down.

Donovan furiously raised his hand to slap Noelle, but she grabbed it and coldly asked, "Did I say anything wrong? You know exactly what happened, yet you chose to protect Xenia!"

Donovan's expression darkened, but he wouldn't allow the matter to escalate no matter what. "But Xenia suffered, too, so let's just leave it at that. Delete the video from your phone."

"Not a chance. It's my first day back, and now that I've received such a pleasant surprise, I'll make sure to get to the bottom of it."

"What do you want then? You heard it yourself; this has nothing to do with Xenia. Gordon took full responsibility, and even if you call the police, nothing will come out of it!"

There was a threat in Donovan's tone. The mockery in Noelle's gaze was unsettling, so he turned around and left the room with Xenia.

Frank approached Noelle and said, "You should sleep in the guest room tonight, Noelle. I'll have your room cleaned."

Blake looked at her. "Did you know about Xenia's plan?"

Otherwise, why would Xenia have ended up in Noelle's room for no reason?
