"Serves him right! Brad should've known better!"

Once Sammy and Alex had their laugh, Sammy walked over to the couch and placed his hands on Brad's shoulders, holding up two fingers in front of his face. "How many fingers am I holding up?"

As Brad's closest friends, both of them could tell he was drunk just by looking at him. Scratch that, he was completely wasted. Realizing how drunk Brad was, Alex felt kind of sorry for him. "Brad, you're done. Let's get you home."

All of a sudden, Brad, who had been slumped lifelessly on the couch, bolted upright and yelled, "Nadine! I want Nadine!"

Alex frowned and shoved him. "I thought you said you didn't like Nadine? Why are you calling out for her? She doesn't like you, and she's been trying to divorce you..."

Not wanting to upset Brad further, he lowered his voice for the second half of his sentence. But the dazed Brad heard him regardless and slammed his fist on the leather couch. "I don't want a divorce! Over my dead body!"

The alcohol had stripped away his usual arrogance, leaving him childlike and innocent. One might not have realized he was drunk unless they looked closely.

After hearing that, Sammy sneered, "So what if you don't want a divorce? You're still cheating on Nadine with Jean, treating your marriage like a game. Nadine's the one who wants to leave you, not the other way around.

"Listen, if she's willing to walk away with nothing at all-not even a single penny- it means she doesn't love you anymore, and she's determined to divorce you. You'd better brace yourself, man."

It seemed like Brad understood him. His eyes darted around for a moment before yelling, "No divorce! Never!" Alex and Sammy couldn't help but find his reaction amusing. They exchanged glances and shook their heads.

Sammy remarked, "Unbelievable. When Nadine was head over heels for him, he treated her like dirt. Now that she doesn't love him anymore and wants a divorce, he won't let her go? Don't you think he's a little messed up? Even though he doesn't love her, he refuses to divorce her."

"That's men for you, always wanting what they can't have. I don't think he loves Jean as much as he thinks he does. It's probably just baggage from his younger years," Alex chimed in.

Sammy scoffed. "We've all done things we regret when we were young, but that doesn't give him the right to fool around while he is married.

"He's constantly defending Jean, getting all tangled up with her, and they've even kissed! What wife wouldn't be upset and want a divorce after seeing her husband get that close to another woman?

"If Nadine had kissed another man, do you think he would have just let it slide?

No way. He would have gone after them!" Both Alex and Sammy were at a loss about what to do with the drunken Brad.

After listening in on their conversation, Brad shot up and yelled, "I'm going to kill Tyler Sullivan! He then stumbled toward the door. As soon as he took a step forward though, his legs gave out, and he collapsed to the ground.

Fortunately, Sammy and Alex were quick on their feet and managed to catch him before he hit the ground, forcing him back onto the couch. "Alright, settle down. You're no match for Tyler right now, so stay put!" noveldrama

Despite being forced back onto the couch, Brad was still thrashing around and yelling, "I'm going to crush Tyler! Call Cameron! Have him buy all of the Sullivan family's shares—I want them to go bankrupt!

"Call Nadine! I need her here! Get over here, Nadine! I'm your man! You have to listen to me!"

His demands were met with nothing but silence. Alex could tell he was way too far gone to have a real conversation, so he chose not to engage.

With a worried look on his face, he turned to Sammy. "What are we supposed to do with him? There's no way we can get him home. Should we call Nadine and see if she'll come over?"
