Pursuing My Ex Wife in Full Blooming Spring

Chapter 113

Charles did not want to wait any longer. He was afraid someone else would sweep her off her feet.

Naomi looked apologetic. “Charles, I’ll have to head to Herland this afternoon.”

“What?” Charles was taken aback. “What happened? Didn’t you say you were going three days from now? Why are you leaving now?”

Naomi said helplessly, “It was changed at the last minute. I don’t have a choice.”

Charles pondered for a while before saying, “Then, when will you be coming back? Will you be coming back earlier?”

Naomi shook her head. “I’m not sure yet, but I’ll text you before I come back.”

He was initially upset, but he was delighted when he heard what she said.

Naomi smiled. “No need. You’re busy at work. I can just take a taxi.”

She was not trying to push him away. She just did not want to trouble him. Charles knew that. He thought for a while before saying, “Okay. Once you’re back, and if I’m free, I’ll go and pick you up. How about that?”

Naomi looked at him seriously. She understood his intentions perfectly.

The words Amelia said to her rang in her mind.

‘Naomi, Charles really likes you. You could give it a try. If you don’t try, how would you know if it’s good or bad?’

At that moment, she and Charles were friends. In the past, they were slowly feeling each other out to see if they were compatible to share the rest of their lives with or not.

This was a good thing for her and Charles.

Charles picked up the bag and asked her. “What time is your flight?”

Naomi replied, “Five fifteen o’clock.”

Charles looked at the time and realized it was one o’clock. She needed an hour to return home before another hour to head to the airport. It was just nice. There was no chance for him to talk to her even longer or take her around the campus.

“Let’s go. I’ll send you off.” This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.

“Mh!”

They left the campus, and Charles sent Naomi to her car. “Text me when you’re on the plane.”

“Okay.” Naomi buckled her seatbelt and looked at Charles. “Charles, don’t strain yourself. Your health is important.’

Her gaze was filled with sincere concern.

Charles could sense her letting him get closer to her. Perhaps it was not the right time at that moment, but she was not refusing him. That was good.

‘Charles, you have a chance. She’s given you a chance. You have to seize it.’

Charles turned and headed back to campus. He had to work harder so that he could find the time to head to Herland.

He was not going to let her be alone over there, especially when that man would most likely be there.

Naomi returned home and called Donna, telling her the time of her flight and that she was about to head to the airport.

Donna was still under the impression that she was leaving only after dinner. She never thought that Naomi would leave so early. Since it was for work and everything had been arranged beforehand, Donna could not say much.

She got Naomi to call her when she reached. Naomi agreed and hailed a taxi to head to the airport with her two suitcases.

Naomi reached the airport around 3 o’clock.

She found a place to sit and sent Scott a message, telling him that she was at the airport.

She then waited. Scott did not send her any information about the flight. Naturally, that meant that she was to wait for him to head to the flight together. She understood.

Her phone vibrated.

[Scott: Mh.]

Another one-syllable response. She could sense that he was, perhaps, still not in a good mood.

She found it odd. Why would she think that he was in a bad mood? He was always a quiet person. She was overthinking it.

She placed her phone down and looked at the passersby in the airport. Then, she noticed a person coming out from the VIP section.
