Pursuing My Ex Wife in Full Blooming Spring

Chapter 89

Fansville was perched on the edge of a sprawling garden which, in the peak of spring, was in full bloom with cherry blossoms and magnolias. Even in the night, their budding blossoms glistened under the night sky.

she

Naomi stared at the flowers and continued, “Men and women are different. Every woman longs to find someone willing to build a home with her, no matter how strong or independent she may be, still secretly longs for a place and a person to call home.

“The truth is, it doesn’t matter who you are or how much money you have. All she wants is someone to shield her from the storm when the times get tough, and not let go no matter what.”

Sean pursed his lips. He failed to protect Amelia from his mother’s insults and even demanded Amelia not take his mother’s harsh words to heart.

Sean gripped the bottle in his hand so hard he felt like it would burst at any minute.

Naomi turned to meet his gaze. “Love, marriage, and family all seem to be separate entities, but in reality, they’re all interconnected. You love Amelia, and she loves you too. You two are extremely lucky to have found each other among seven billion people on this earth, but unfortunately, love may not be enough.

“Your parents love you and wish for you to find a girl who’s a suitable match in terms of social status -it’s not wrong of them to want this. Similarly, Amelia’s parents love her very much too, and wish for wanting for her to be with someone who’ll love and cherish her like they do–they’re not wrong that too. Neither of you are in the wrong, but unfortunately, you two hail from very different backgrounds,

and thus it’s only natural to have very different mindsets when it comes to marriage. Unfortunately, your difference in opinions caused this rift between you.”

Sean lowered his head, his expression dark. He knew that Naomi was right. This was the undeniable truth about his relationship with Amelia.

Naomi noticed the look on his face but continued, “However, I believe that there is no such thing as an unsalvageable situation. We as humans are malleable, and opinions can always be changed.” Everything can be changed for the better–it’s up to the beholder how to come about that.

“If anything, the outcome you want is always achievable, provided you are willing to put in the hard

work to do so.”

Sean’s heart leaped into his throat, and he widened his eyes in shock. The outcome he wanted…

With that, Naomi stopped and stood up to leave. There was only so much she could tell Sean–she had to leave the rest of the thinking up to him.

The truth was, there was no point trying to talk sense into Sean if he refused to see the truth that was right in front of him–that he needed to fight tooth and nail for his relationship with Amelia.

Before she left, however, Naomi turned and said, “To be honest with you, Amelia has been working

herself to the bone over the past three years, because she wants nothing more than to be with you.

The beer bottle in Sean’s hand slipped between his fingers and landed on the ground, smashing into

smithereens.

Naomi closed the door behind her and left without a second glance.

Charles, who was on the phone outside the booth, turned around when he heard the door open. When he saw it was Naomi, he said to the person on the other end of the line, “Okay. I’ll be there tomorrow morning.”

Then, he hung up and strode over to Naomi. “What happened?”

Naomi smiled. “I think he needs some time to process everything.”

Charles nodded. “Alright then.” He glanced at his watch. “It’s already nine o’clock. Why don’t I send you home?”

Naomi shook her head. “No need, Charles. You need to get to work tomorrow, so you need to get an early night’s rest. I can hail a taxi home.”

“No, Naomi, it’s too late. Besides, your place is too far away, and it won’t be safe for you to take a taxi home at this hour. I’ll drive you; it won’t take too long.”

With that, Charles began walking toward the parking lot without even waiting for Naomi’s reply.

Naomi, however, did not move an inch. Instead, she stared at Charles‘ retreating figure, remembering the exact words she said to Sean just now.”

The Wards were also an extremely well–off and reputable family. In a way, she and Charles were not a good match either.

Charles turned to glance at her when he realized she did not follow him. He was caught off guard when he saw Naomi standing there in deep thought. A bad feeling arose in his heart. He walked

back to her and asked, “What’s wrong, Naomi?”
