Chapter 166 The New Clues

Ada had been away for so many days, and logically, Andrew must have found some clues for her.

Upon hearing her voice again, Andrew showed concern about her health.

He asked, "Avery, are you okay?"

After what had happened on the ship last time, Andrew had been worried about her. He had called her NôvelDrama.Org content.

several times afterward but got no response.

Avery responded, "Sorry for making you worry. I've been out of touch for a while due to some personal

matters, but everything's fine now."

Only then did Andrew relax. "I'm glad you're okay. I did manage to find some results regarding what

you asked me to investigate. Can we meet to discuss it in detail?"

Avery sighed. She hadn't even solved the trouble regarding Frank. If she went to meet Andrew, she

wouldn't be sure what crazy things Jacob would do.

"Andrew, to be honest, I'm afraid of alerting the enemies. I suspect someone is keeping an eye on me.

Your investigation hasn't attracted any attention, has it?"

Andrew shook his head. "Don't worry. I know what to do. Dr. Wood no longer works there. She resigned

the third day after Jane's death."

"She resigned? What about that man?" Avery frowned. No wonder that doctor had shown her hostility

when they had crossed paths.

Andrew replied, "He resigned a day before Dr. Wood did. Through detailed investigation, I found that

that guy was an interim employee who had joined the asylum with the help of Dr. Wood. He even used

a false name."

Avery asked, "What about Dr. Wood? She has a valid medical license. It can't be fake, right?"

"Dr. Wood was originally named Daisy Wood. She studied medicine at the same university as us, but a

few years ahead. After graduating, she pursued further studies abroad and just returned this year."

Andrew paused for a while before continuing, "I also found something interesting. She once received

financial assistance from your father."

Avery froze, realizing that this was no coincidence.

"Besides this, do you have any information about Daisy's family and friends or anything else related to

Jane?"

"No rush! I'll tell you little by little." Andrew reassured her.

"Daisy grew up in a single-parent family. Her parents divorced when she was young, and she lived with

her mother. After her mother's passing a few years ago, she went abroad, and she hasn't contacted her

father for many years."

Avery couldn't discern any clues from this background. She wondered, "Could my father have harmed

Daisy as well?"

Avery recalled the list she had seen before. Daisy's name was not on it.

"I could only find so much information about Daisy. I don't even know what happened to her after she

resigned. Jane's parents immigrated abroad." After a pause, Andrew added, "By the way, after Jane's

death, her parents didn't return to the country. I found out that Jane was always neglected by her

parents because she was a girl, and she was often subjected to physical and verbal abuse. She was a

solitary person and later dropped out of school due to pregnancy."

Jane's pale face came into Avery's mind again. "Is her child still alive?"

If Martin had made Jane pregnant, finding that child would lead to DNA evidence.

Andrew sighed, "I'm sorry, Avery. Jane dropped out shortly after becoming pregnant, and I couldn't find

out what happened to her during that period. It's been said that she had an abortion, but I had some

check several public and private hospitals, and there was no information matching Jane having had an

abortion during that time."

Avery's eyes lit up as she thought of how Jane kept repeating that her child had been taken away. "So,

her child is probably still alive."

It provided Avery with a new crucial lead, and she felt hope again.
