Chapter 33
Elise felt like the ground had been pulled from beneath her feet. Her body felt sore all over, and an overwhelming stench. tickled at her nostrils.
The groggy feeling and dry taste from her parched lips as she opened her eyes made her immediately squint when she saw the movement of a bonfire in her eyesight. She had no idea that she had been knocked out for a whole day.
She shot up in an upright position but found that she was unable to move her hands freely. She saw herself tied to a tree while a group of over a dozen men conversed around a fire, all cheering and drinking into reckless abandon.
One whiff of them and Elise had never had an encounter with such a scent; these were not the same men that attacked and took her earlier; these were humans.
She could tell by the awed look in their gaze that they had never seen a wolf before. “Oi, the girls are awake,” the men snickered as they all turned to Elise.
A tethered cold chill ran down her spine when she saw the items beside them-from silver chains to weapons of imaginable torture that would make anyone terrified to death
“Who the hell are you people! What do you want from me?” She called with a snarl. She bared her teeth to the males, showing them a fearless expression inside of a terrified one, even though her body trembled.
“Oh wow, they were right about silver-night women being beauties, but she. Feisty one, ain’t she?” They all snickered.
Who sent you? Was it Kyren?”
The human males all looked at each other as they began to laugh “That slimy wicked king? We would be caught dead and then make a bargain with that man; we wouldn’t even make it back to our families, I tell you!” One of them said as he lit up at cigarette.
“Then who sent you?”
“Shut up, girl; the only thing you have to know is that you will never see that pack again, and all the more we will be girly rich if we turn into the silver night pack or the human hunt brigade, a century-old cult who have dedicated their whole life. to killing your kind!” He snickered.
“You are all monsters.”
“That should be you… What kind of witch brat kills their mother? The man spat as he walked close to Elise, grabbing the lock of her hair tightly.
“Listen here, girl, you better obey if you don’t want to be left in the hands of my hungry men; they don’t care if it’s a n***ph, a witch, or a d***n she-wolf; they’d take their time having their way with you!” He threatened.
She tried not to show any pain, breathing out the sting she felt from his hard pull on her hair as she took steady breaths, her eyes lined with a dark stubbornness as her gaze didn’t back down from his while the man pulled away from her after getting an eerie feeling from just her gaze.
“We continue the journey at first light in a few hours; we are already boats and hours away from the pack.”
“F**k you Elise snarled. “You cowards are scared of a mere girl, which is why you drugged and tied me up to bring me here,” she said to him, hoping to rile him up. The man fell for it, and he turned to her with hate in his gaze.
You think you’re all that, princess?” He said as all his men went quiet. He looked to the closest one and handed him a knife. “Take her bounds off; we’ll have our way with her instead before we give her back to her father for our reward,” he said, and all the men cheered in anticipation.
But the moment she felt the bonds come free, she reached for the male who unbound her, taking his knife. In a swift, fast motion like Kaide had taught her, she took aim for his right arm with her free hand.
A loud pop of bones echoed as the man screamed. She dislocated the man’s shoulder and aimed the knife at his neck. “One move and he dies this instant,” she threatened the group.
She tried her best to control her shaking hands, hoping the man would see the hesitation in her gaze, but he did. “You don’t wanna do that, princess,” he warned. “You haven’t killed men in cold blood like we have, so drop the weapon.”
What Elise didn’t know was that one of their men had been up in the shadows. His gun pointed toward her, and he let go of the trigger, letting the bullet soar.
Move! Her wolf warned, and Elise dove for the ground, the bullet puncturing her hostage straight into the neck as blood gushed everywhere.
There was a slight g**h on her face from the bullet that burned; it had been mixed with vardnor to weaken her, but only a small dosage was pushed into her bloodstream from the graze. “You’re a quick one to miss a flying bullet, but you’re too late, you’re wounded and no match for us; get her boys!” the leader ordered.
Even though she had never seen that weapon in her life, she knew it was dangerous to be caught between them.
Elise took a defensive stance. She took the knife in her hands and ripped the length off her long dress, leaving only a short gown riding up the length of her thighs. Her gaze focused pushing away that dizziness from the poison.
With dirt and blood mixed with her skin and hair, her only instinct was to survive, survive, survive! Rygan wasn’t here to save her; worse, he must think she ran away.
“You, b**h!” One shouted, she aims and lands a kick to his chest, and the other attacked mercilessly; they were one too many, and their plan of attacking together to confuse her was inevitably working.
One of the men landed a heavy punch to her face, and her body landed harshly on a tree. It was treacherous and painful, and she could hardly breathe. “Help, I need help,” she muttered, pleading to her wolf.
I can help you, Elise, but you have to give me full control. Herwolf answered that the men were edging closer, and she had no other give you permission to shift and attack,” she muttered as the blue options as she closed her eyes. “Yes, take over. I moon was at its peak.
“What is this b**h murmuring about? Get her tied up!” He shouted to his men, but they heard a deadly snarl as all of them looked to see what beheld them, and one immediately peed his pants.
A primal scream ripped from Elise’s throat, a sound that tore through the night and echoed off the greenhouse walls. It wasn’t a human scream, but the raw, instinctive howl of a creature pushed to its limits.
The heat that had been simmering beneath her skin erupted in a wave of white-hot fire. Her bones, no longer designed for human limitations, began to lengthen, distort, and snap with a series of sickening pops. Agony clawed at her, ripping through muscle and tearing at tendons.
The men holding her flinched back, their faces contorted in a mixture of terror and morbid fascination as they witnessed the horrifying transformation. One of them fumbled, dropping his weapon and spilling its contents onto the damp earth. Her human form, once graceful and slender but now contorted and twisted, morphed into a magnificent beast.Property © NôvelDrama.Org.
Her legs elongated, powerful muscles rippling beneath the newly formed hide. Razor-sharp claws extended from her fingertips, and her teeth sharpened into deadly points.
Her spine arched, bones snapping into place with a final, satisfying crack. When the transformation subsided, a magnificent white wolf stood in their midst, its eyes glowing with an eerie violet light.
This was no ordinary wolf. It was a creature of power and grace, a stark contrast to the cowering men before her. The fear in their eyes was palpablen delicious irony considering their earlier arrogance.
Elise, no longer the vulnerable human girl, let out a deafening rear that challenged the very night. At that moment, under the watchful gaze of the moon, she was no longer a captive. She was the apex predator.
“I thought our client said she couldn’t turn?” One male spoke while another fell to the ground. The leader’s eyes had turned wide with hate and terror as he raised a shaky hand, pointing to the deadly wolf. “Kill her!” He roared, and that was all it took for Elise Wolf to unleash havoc on the men. Its instincts were to kill Kill! Kill
The blood of her attackers showered tree branches on her woll’s mad rampage, her males never escaping the wrath of her wolf.
Meanwhile. Elise was oblivious to the commotion that was going on back at the black moon pack and how Rygan was going to be on the edge of insanity.
And the search will begin.
