Rejected No More: I Am Way Out Of Your League, Darling!

Chapter 1059

Chapter 1059:

Daniela’s eyes turned cold. It seemed a lot had happened during her three-year coma.

“There’s more,” the security captain continued, his tone grave. “A woman named Joyce emerged from the shadows, claiming to be your sister. She’s been in cahoots with Caiden, scheming to liquidate Elite Lux. Joyce hasn’t shown up these past few days, probably busy contacting buyers.”noveldrama

He paused, his expression solemn, then added, “Given the swirling rumors of your demise and Elite Lux’s rumored financial troubles, many of our projects have ground to a halt, and wages have gone unpaid. Yet, the staff’s gratitude for your past benevolence has kept them from deserting. Your return is nothing short of a miracle for us all.”

With his eyes glistening with tears, the security captain wiped his face once again. Daniela spoke softly, her words laced with sincerity. “Please convey my deepest thanks to everyone for their unwavering loyalty.”

The security captain, his resolve now steely, wiped his eyes for the last time, fists clenched in determination. “Ms. Harper, with you here, I have no doubt—we will turn the tide. As for that agitator below, I’ll make sure he troubles us no more.”

Weary from his earlier shouting, Caiden sat on a small chair he had prepared. Joyce stepped out of the car and handed him a bottle of water. “Dad, I’ve found a buyer, but he’s offering less than we hoped.”

Caiden momentarily paused in his drinking. “How much less? I hope it’s not ridiculously low.”

Joyce raised her hand, showing him the figure with her fingers. Caiden’s brow furrowed. “Really? That much?”

With a sigh of resignation, Joyce replied, “What choice do we have? I’ve already pulled some strings and paid a hefty sum in agency fees just to get this far. The building’s property rights are a mess, and that scares off most buyers. There’s also the risk that someone from Elite Lux might cause trouble. So, we may have to settle for this lower offer.”

Caiden’s face hardened into a mask of stern resolve.

He had personally spread the news of Daniela’s tragic demise as part of a strategy to claim her inheritance. Considering the violent explosion that had occurred, he had thought surviving was out of the question for Daniela.

He had expected Elite Lux to confirm her death, but after three agonizing years of waiting, their silence was deafening.

To make matters worse, a recent rumor had reached his ears—Cedric had miraculously woken up.

How on earth could Cedric have woken up? The explosion had been catastrophic. Surely, Cedric was meant to perish in that disaster, just like Daniela.

With Cedric now awake and very much alive, he posed a direct threat to the inheritance.

Urgency gripped Caiden as his thoughts turned to disposing of the Elite Lux building as soon as possible. Afterward, he planned to offload the Harper family’s estate. Amassing such wealth, he envisioned a life of unbridled luxury.

Caught up in his schemes, Caiden turned to address Joyce, his voice laced with determination. “This figure seems fair. Set up a viewing for this afternoon. Secure some men to neutralize the guards and get the media involved. I’ll put on a show, claiming I’m merely settling my late daughter’s estate. Who would challenge me in public? Elite Lux’s staff wouldn’t dare cause a scene with cameras rolling.”
