At this point, Odie stood up and said, "That's all I've got. Jensen didn't spend his life chasing after riches, and the Devonport treasure isn't just some legendary royal stash. I don't buy it, and you shouldn't either." Each one of them was wealthier than most countries, so why would they spend over a decade chasing some rumored fortune they've never even seen? There's got to be more to it.
Seeing Colby still quiet, Odie added, "I've told you everything I know. Consider it my way of saying thanks for saving my life. We're square now."
With that, Odie headed for the bedroom door. He paused after a couple of steps, looking a bit worried. "Sophie will probably sleep for another four or five hours. As her husband, it's best if you stick close." After saying this, Odie closed the door behind him.
Colby moved over to Sophie's side, watching her as she slept peacefully. He gently touched her forehead. Maybe she was having a nightmare because her forehead was dotted with sweat.
Seeing this, Colby went to the bathroom, soaked a towel, and gently wiped the sweat from her cheeks. "Don't worry, I'm back now."
Colby's voice was deep but tender, "As long as I'm here, no one can hurt you."

He glanced back at the bedroom door with concern and said, "Keep an eye on her, I'll be back soon."
