Chapter 6
The kids, who were secretly thinking that they had succeeded in deceiving their mother, became nervous when they saw Elaine coming back.
“Mommy, what’s the matter?” Julian was always composed. He soon calmed down and asked, raising his head.
Elaine lifted the helm of Evie’s skirt. “Why is your skirt dirty?”
Evie put her hands behind her back, looking very nervous.
“Mommy!” Eddy suddenly raised his voice. When Elaine looked at him suspiciously, he said very quickly, “Didn’t we play hide-and-seek before? She probably leaned against somewhere and dirtied the skirt!”
Evie nodded repeatedly.
Then what happened to your wrist?” Martin came behind Evie.
The kids became more flustered.
Elaine’s heart skipped a beat. She pulled over Evie’s wrist, and her gaze instantly became sharp.
“What’s going on? Good kids never lie, you know,”
Even Martin was afraid of Elaine whenever she put on a serious look, let alone the three little kids..
Julian racked his brains and made an excuse hurriedly. Maybe she bumped into somewhere!”
Evie was guilty and didn’t dare to look at Elaine. She lowered her head and kept rubbing her toes against the floor.
Eddy was also a little nervous. Although he was usually eloquent he felt a lump in his throat, unable to speak a single word.
Julian pressed his lips, wondering whether he should tell Elaine the truth.
“Are you not going to tell me?” Elaine raised her voice.
Martin’s gaze quickly swept across the faces of the three adorable kids, and he speculated that they might be hiding something. He comforted Elaine and said, “I’ll ask the secretary to investigate.”
Elaine took a deep breath. “I don’t like it when you lie. I hope you can tell everything honestly before tomorrow!”
After speaking, she turned and left.
After getting in the car, Martin approached her and helped fasten her seat belt, comforting her gently, “Elena, although they are only five years old, they are incredibly clever and won’t give others any chance to bully them. Maybe Evie really bumped into somewhere.”
Elaine looked up, her eyes slightly reddened.
She couldn’t stand the three kids to be hurt by anyone.
But now, Evie’s wrist was obviously pinched by someone.
Recalling the attitude of Gideon and the other directors in the meeting room, she couldn’t help but suspect they wanted to hurt her family.
The kids had always been very sensible. Elaine was afraid that they would deliberately hide their grivances from her and refuse to tell her the truth.
“I promise I will find out what was going on.”
Looking at Martin, who solemnly swore, Elaine took a few deep breaths and said, “Let’s focus on Josh first.”
“Okay.” Martin looked away and started the car.
Suburban racetrack.
Josh was an amateur racer. He participated in amateurish competitions every year and had won many trophies.
But unfortunately, he had not won a championship trophy so far.
Now that the amateurish competition was near, Josh planned to come here to practice and meet up with Anson.
At this moment. Josh saw a red Ferrari roaring towards him like a gust of wind.
Amid the swirling dust, the red Ferrari made a beautiful drift and parked steadily in front of Josh’s car.
“Wow!”
The atmosphere at the scene was heated up by cheers and whistles.
Everyone tried their best to have a closer look, wanting to see who could perform such a beautiful drift.
Josh was more excited and wished he could open the car door immediately to see who it was..
The car door opened, and the audience instantly fell silent they saw a high heel.
After about thirty seconds, they burst into an even wilder uproar
“Holy shit! It’s a woman!”
“How could a woman perform such a beautiful drift?*
“I’m so curious about what she looks like. If she’s pretty and cool I’ll be her biggest fan!”
Amid such discussions, Elaine got out of the car.
She flipped her hair and looked at the stunned Josh with a charming smile.
Sunlight spilled from above her head as if gilding her exquisite face with a layer of gold, making her look as beautiful as a fairy.
“Hello, Mr. Robinson.”
Josh suddenly snapped back to reality. “Did Mr. Cameron send you?”
Elaine said with a smile. “What gave you that idea?”
“No, nothing.”
“If you want to know who I am, race me, and you’ll find out.”
Josh smiled brightly. “It’s a little unfair for you, isn’t it?”
If he won, people would blame him for being too serious about this race.
But if he lost, they would ridicule him for being no match for a woman.Material © NôvelDrama.Org.
Neither of these results would do any good to him.
Josh was always shrew, so he wouldn’t get himself into such a dilemma Elaine looked at him with a smile. “Come on. Nobody here is as old-fashioned as you expected. The matches between men and women are always fair. Mr. Robinson, you have worried too much!”
Except for Elaine’s superb driving skills, Josh was also surprised by her sharp tongue.
When he was considering whether to compete with Elaine, his secretary suddenly trotted over and whispered to him.
Then, Josh fooked at Elaine with a smile. “Miss, I’m really not myself today, but my partner will come over in a while. It is said that he is also very good at racing. Why don’t you race him instead?”
Elaine showed a faint smile, but her gaze was freezingly cold.
Mr. Robinson, you’re really cunning!”
Josh’s face instantly darkened.
“But of course, you’re not the only one. Every successful businessman needs to be cunning.”
Elaine added, making Josh less irritated.
“It sounds like you’re also doing business, aren’t you?”
“Mr. Robinson, I’ve made it quite clear. If you want to know my identity, you’ll have to beat me. Elaine smiled.
Josh squinted his eyes and pondered, trying to guess her identity.
“I can race your partner in a while on one condition. If I win, I hope you can reject the cooperation with the Cameron Group!”
Josh was shocked.
He thought, “Who the hell is this woman?
‘She even dares to compete for business with the Cameron Group!
“So, your purpose is to mess up my cooperation with the Cameron Group, isn’t it? Josh’s voice raised in surprise.
Elaine had frequently surprised him since she appeared.
“Mess up? No.” Elaine’s smile widened, and she looked very confident. “I think we are more suitable to cooperate with the Robinson Group than the Cameron Group!”
“Lady, you are quite confident!”
The familiar voice made Elaine’s heart skip a beat, and she clenched her fists.
It was Anson.
They finally met again..
The smile on Elaine’s face became even wider. She turned around slowly, looking at the dignified and graceful man.
“Greetings, Mr Cameron.”
When Anson met her eyes, he was dumbfounded.
This woman looked so much like Elaine!
However, Anson wondered if she was actually the w
