Second Thoughts After Divorce

Chapter 94

Chapter 94

Rose’s POV

A week had passed since the children had arrived at their new home, and as I walked through the now familiar halls of the newly transformed estate, a bittersweet feeling settled in my chest.

This was once a place of dread and pain and now the hallways were filled with laughter and joy.

It was hard to believe how quickly time had flown by, and now it was time for us to return back to our own pack, leaving Sawyer to continue his role here as the new Alpha of Jacob’s pack.

As I packed our belongings, memories of the past week flooded my mind – the laughter of the children as they played in the sunshine, the sense of camaraderie as pack members worked together to care for them, and the overwhelming feeling of pride as we watched them settle into their new lives.

“Rose, are you ready?” Ashton’s voice broke through my reverie, and I turned to find him standing in the doorway, a suitcase in hand and a warm smile on his face.

I nodded, forcing a smile of my own as I sipped up the last of our bags. “Almost,” I replied, my voice tinged with sadness. I just can’t believe how quickly the time has passed.”

Ashton crossed the room and wrapped his arms around me, pulling me into a comforting embrace. “I know,” he murmured, his voice soft against my ear. “But we’ve accomplished so much here, Rose. We’ve given these children a chance at a better life, and that’s something to be proud of. Now we have to go home and prepare for our own!” Ashton refers to our unborn baby, ready to pop any minute as I smile at the thought.

His words

rds brought a measure of comfort, and I leaned into his embrace, drawing strength from his presence. “You’re right,” I conceded, a small smile tugging at the comers of my lips. “We’ve made a difference here, and that’s all that matters. Sawyer has it under control.” I comment, leaving our full faith in him to keep things going how they have started.

“Let me take that.” Ashton steps in, lifting my suitcase with ease as I follow behind him back out of the mom:

With our bags packed and goodbyes said, we made our way to the courtyard where Sawyer and the rest of the pack were gathered to see us off. The atmosphere was filled with a mix of sadness and pride as we exchanged hugs and well wishes, knowing that we were leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion

anyway!

No doubt we would be visiting frequently anyway!

Sawyer stepped forward, his expression serious yet filled with gratitude. “Thank you,” he said, his voice carrying across the courtyard. “For everything you’ve done to set this up. You’ve given them hope and a future, and I’m honoured to fill the role. He moves to hug Ashton before hugging me gently.

Tears pricked at my eyes as I hugged Sawyer back, suddenly feeling proud of him with my baby hormones settling in full swing-

With a final round of hugs and farewells, Ashton and I climbed into the car with Lydia and Hunt, ready to begin the journey back to our own pack. As we drove away from the children’s estate, I couldn’t help but glance back one last time, feeling a pang of sadness at leaving behind the place where we had made such a meaningful impact.

“We will come back to visit after our baby gets here.” Ashton promises, knowing what I was thinking.

I glance down at my bump, as Lydia moves to take my hand in hers offering it a squeeze of reassumnee,

“When we get off the train, why don’t we look at designing a room for the baby? I know you enjoyed designing the facility?” Ashton suggests, as we drove further and further away from the pack. Material © NôvelDrama.Org.

The idea sounded amazing, sending a rush of excitement through me at the thought of creating the cutest little room for the child.

As we journeyed back to our own pack, my mind buzzed with anticipation for the new chapter awaiting us. The prospect of designing a mursery for our baby filled me with excitement and a sense of nesting instinct.

“I love that idea,” I replied, turning to Ashton with a smile. “We can make it cozy and welcoming, just like we did for the children’s facility.” I hum in thought.

Ashton grinned, his eyes alight with enthusiasm. “Exactly,” be agreed, his hand reaching over to gently caress my bump, “Our little one deserves the best, and I know you’ll make it perfect.” He compliments with adoring eyes which causes for my heart to flutter.

We climbed aboard the train, and began to make plans during the journey, sharing ideas and imagining what our life would be like with our

addition.

Suddenly, 1 flinch and grab my abdomen, wide eyed as I stare over

wer at Ashton who immediately notices the change in demeanour.

What is it?!” He stands to approach me, alert and worried.

“I felt a pain…” I state shakily, as Ashton glances to Hunt who also looks alarmed.

With that, another pain comes, before I begin to feel a wetness form between my legs causing me to look down…

It’s not blood, it’s water?

“Get Doctor Carter!” Ashton states hurriedly, as Hunt rushes towards the next carriage where he was resting

Crap!

“Is… is the baby coming now?!” 1 panic with watery eyes, as the others look alarmed and don’t know what to say.

As the panic began to set in, I focused on trying to stay calm, my mind racing with a million thoughts. Ashton’s hand never left mine, his touch offering

reassuring anchor amidst the chaos.

Seconds felt like hours as we waited for Hunt to return with Doctor Carter. Every twinge and movement sent a wave of fear through me, but I knew I had to stay strong for the sake of our baby.

Finally, Hunt burst back into the carriage, followed closely by Doctor Carter, who wasted no time in assessing the situation. His calm demeanor helped to ease some of my anxiety as he quickly moved to examine me,

“It looks like your water has broken,” he explained calmly, his voor soothing yet authoritative. “We need to get you to the nearest hospital as soon as possible.

Ashton’s grip tightened on my hand, his eyes filled with worry. “Is the baby going to be okay? 1 would rather use our own hospital!” he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Doctor Carter nodded reassuringly. “We’ll do everything we can to ensure a safe delivery, but there won’t be time. We have to stop at the next pack.” He replied, his tone confident. “But we need to act quickly. Hunt, I’ll need your help to contact the nearest pack to inform them of our arrival.”

Hunt nodded, his expression wary yet determined as he moved to assist Doctor Carter in getting me safely onto a small wheelchair. Ashton hovered close by, his presence a source of comfort as we prepared to leave the train.

With each passing mile, the contractions grew stronger, and I clung to Ashton’s hand, drawing strength from his unwavering support as I clenched my teeth harshly. Despite the pain and uncertainty, a sense of determination burned within me – I was ready to bring our baby into the world, no matter

what it took
