Seduced by My Childhood Sweetheart’s Brother

Chapter 724

Staring at my phone's cold, hard screen, dread seized me. I felt like I was being watched by a giant venomous snake. At a quarter past two, I arrived at the conference hall. It was already half occupied when I walked in.

Each seat was tagged with the occupant's name and position, as well as their role in the current project. Since I was there to audit, I did not have a seat. I picked somewhere in the back and to the side and sat down.

The central desk was a regular, long, rectangular desk. Appearing first on the right was Professor King's tag. Opposite him was another tag emblazoned with a succinct title, director. There was no name, no organization, or even gender. What a mysterious client.

Paying it no mind, my eyes looked for Colin. I lifted my head and saw Colin's tag next to Professor King's. It read "Jesselton College's Person in Charge, Colin White." He wasn't there yet.

At 2:23 pm, Colin walked in with his team. Donning a black suit and a tight tie, Colin had styled his hair sleek back. He was dressed for the occasion. His team was composed of the best people in the college. And among them, Colin's height and charm were the most outstanding.

I felt immensely proud that he was my boyfriend. As Colin walked toward his seat, his eyes scanned the crowd too. They lit up when he saw me, and he smiled, giving me a barely discernible greeting. I returned him another smile and blew him a kiss. That was my moral support.

Colin, too, blew the kiss back. The grin on him grew wider. At 2:30 pm sharp, the door to the conference hall flung wide open. Professor King ushered the client in politely. Staff members immediately looked at the name tags on their chests to guide everyone to their seats.

From my angle, my vision was blocked by the throngs of incoming attendants. I could only make out that the client's representative was a short female.

Colin stood up to greet her. But as soon as he detached himself from the seat, he froze, his body stuck in a mid-standing position. The disbelief on his face made my mind turn blank Something must have gone horribly wrong. Colin wouldn't behave this indecently before someone.

My temples began to throb wildly. The premonition I felt reached its pinnacle. A voice inside my head urged me to see who could possibly surprise Colin like this. I had an answer, but I didn't want to OContent held by NôvelDrama.Org.

acknowledge it.

Disregarding the cautionary glare from Professor King and pushing away the arm in my way, I ran from behind the central desk. Many people shot me quizzical looks.

Finally, when I reached behind Colin, the client's representative looked at me with a smirk that was polite at first glance but condescending in reality.

It was her.

I was just as shocked as Colin, if not more. Dread and fear crushed me like two giant boulders. At that moment, I hated the good eyesight I was blessed with so much.
