The chair was meant for Gabriela, and Bryan, being tall, looked quite out of place and pitiful as he sat on it. Eileen, with a warm smile, gestured for Chana to sit on the sofa and said, “According to the tradition here, I won’t be able to marry Benicio immediately after my divorce. Eileen gave Bryan a dismissive look. Then, she turned to Chana and replied, “Mrs. Brown, you’re really interesting. You came all the way here to talk about me marrying into your family, right? I’m just complying with you here.”

Chana’s face twisted in a mix of shock and anger.

“I didn’t expect you to discuss this in front of Mr. Dawson!” Eileen said. “You are the one who thinks you can just waltz in here and convince me to dump Bryan for the Brown family. Since you’ve done that, you must believe you are more capable than Bryan and have the confidence to convince me to marry into your family. You’re doing this before I even get a divorce, clearly insulting Bryan!”

Eileen’s aura was so intimidating that Chana was speechless.
