Chapter 1128
Anya was cooking up a storm, sweat dripping down her back. "Chad, you're home! Try the spaghetti Bolognese I whipped up today."
"In this heat, why didn't you open the kitchen window? You're drenched! Here, wipe yourself off," Leo said, handing Anya a paper towel.
"I also stir-fried a couple of dishes," Anya explained. "I didn't want the cooking smells to spread, so I kept the door closed."
"But we've got an exhaust fan, silly. Go take a shower; you don't want to catch a chill from the temperature change."
Leo adjusted the air conditioning to make it a bit warmer, while Anya headed to the bathroom.
Soon, she emerged wrapped in a bath towel, and Leo just shook his head in silent protest she clearly didn't see him as a threat.
Anya was about to head to the balcony, still in her towel, to grab a fresh nightgown. Leo quickly scooped her up and carried her back inside. "What are you thinking? I'll get it. You shouldn't be wandering around like that."
Anya pouted. "No one's gonna see me. I'm still wrapped in a towel, you know."
Leo glanced at Anya's damp shoulders, almost regretting his past indifference. Her freshly showered look, with flushed cheeks and wet lashes, made her seem almost ethereal, testing his self-control. With a gulp, he headed to the balcony to grab her nightgown.
He then went to the bathroom, opened the window, and mopped up the water on the floor.
Not long after, Anya changed into her nightgown and came out to clean, only to find her boyfriend had already finished the job. "Chad, I made that mess."
Leo gently tapped her forehead. "Silly, what's mine is yours, and what's yours is mine. Do we really need to wait until we sleep on it to feel like we're meant for each other?"
Anya's cheeks turned an even deeper pink. "Chad, you're such a tease."noveldrama
Leo pulled her close. "Come on, let's eat. We'll take a nap after lunch, then you can hit the books again."
Anya gave her hair a quick dry before joining him for the meal.
Since being with Anya, Leo's diet had taken a turn for the healthier. He used to just grab whatever bread was handy, not caring much about the details. But with Anya, it was all about What kind of flour is this?
you
How long will it last? Chad, do y prefer whole wheat or white bread?"
He never used to shop for groceries, relying on takeout and restaurants for his veggies. Anya, on the other hand, would head to the supermarket, saying, "Chad, I'll get you some crunchy celery; it's super crisp right from the fridge. Since you're always on the computer, I'll buy spinach and cook it for you. Let's grab some winter melon for soup. Chad..."
He didn't have to worry about fruit anymore either. Anya would always stop by the supermarket at their complex entrance, picking up a few things to make sure they never ran out.
Leo just had to handle breakfast after his morning run, and sometimes Anya would surprise him by making it herself.
Aside from Anya's initial awkwardness, they settled into a smooth rhythm together. Anya felt at ease, except for those moments when Leo couldn't resist sneaking a look at her post-shower.
Leo even tried walking out in just a towel himself, but the shy Ms. Anya would hide
her face behind the couch, too embarrassed to look.
"Chad, what are you thinking about? I've been talking to you, and you're miles away," Anya said, mixing the sauce into their bowls.
What do you think?
