e said, “Would you have done it if you were at a hotel, then? Would the location have mattered?”

‘ou…” Farrah was lost for words. “Corey and I are just friends!”

drian pulled over at the side of the road, making Farrah’s heart sink. She suddenly understood the everity of the matter and held her breath.

e turned to look at her. “You took the day off to care for another man, and you kept this from your usband. Do you think you’re in the right, Mrs. Locke?”

he met his dark gaze, suddenly realizing she was at fault. She shook her head and reminded herself that le had to remember she was married.

arrah still wanted to explain the situation, though. “Corey is my high school classmate. He got injured

cause of me.”

Vere you two ever together?” Adrian asked,

lo!” she blurted. She didn’t look like she was joking.

drian trusted his judgment. Corey had feelings for Farrah, but the latter didn’t necessarily feel the same. Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.

‘ou…” Farrah blinked and asked tentatively, “Are you jealous?”

‘ou’re overthinking things.” He started the car again, not looking too happy. “What do you think Grandpa ould think if he were to hear about this?”

ne didn’t dare say anything in return, but she felt that it didn’t matter even if Philip were to learn about is. Everyone had friends of the opposite gender, didn’t they?

drian parked the Lamborghini at the company’s entrance. None of the company’s employees saw Farrah hen she got out of the car, she and Adrian entered the company one after the other as if they didn’t low each other.

The meeting was set at a restaurant. Jodie had dressed up a little, even wearing an expensive form–fitting dress she’d bought five years ago. She usually couldn’t bear to wear it and stored it in her wardrobe.

Farrah’s heart ached when she saw the hole a rat had bitten in the back of the dress. Jodie probably hadn’t noticed it.

Steven sat at the table with a cigarette dangling from his fingers. He had his feet propped up rudely, and the smoke billowed around his face. He looked proud and smug, as if he were the most important person in the room.

Philip was well–mannered. His hair had been combed neatly, and his tailored suit was pressed to

perfection. He’d arrived early and left his bodyguards outside the private room instead of allowing them to stand behind him as always.

Adrian and Farrah entered the room and greeted everyone. Then, Adrian sat beside Philip while Farrah sat beside Jodie.

The server started serving the dishes.

Jodie was a little reserved but smiled and said, “It’s good enough for me as long as Fay is happy, Mr. Locke Senior. As parents, we only wish that our children are happy. We won’t ask for anything else.”

Adrian looked at her. For a second, he was dazed. Her face gave him a sense of deja vu, but he couldn’t remember where he’d seen her.

Steven didn’t bother waiting for Philip to say anything. As soon as the words were out of Jodie’s mouth, he snapped, “Do you think it was easy to raise Farrah? What do you mean we won’t ask for anything else?

Do you think it’s appropriate for them to skip out on giving us wedding gifts?”
