The Alpha’s Fated Outcast: Rise Of The Moonsinger

Chapter 337: Politics and rivals...

Lyla

This revelation left me speechless. Lenny had a sister? A hybrid sister who was apparently on intimate terms with my mate?

Lenny turned to Circe. "Would you like to stay at my house tonight? It would give us a chance to catch up."

Circe sighed dramatically. "Fine. I don't want Lyla and Ramsey to fight anyway." She winked at me. "Though a little jealousy can be healthy in a relationship, don't you think?"

Without waiting for a response, she linked her arm through Lenny's, and they walked out together, their animated conversation continuing as the door closed behind them.

An awkward silence fell over those of us remaining.

"Well," Terra said finally. "That was unexpected."

"You didn't mention that Lenny has a sister," Nanny fired at Ramsey.

"I don't go about giving details about my pack members' genealogy, Miriam. Why are you offended?" Ramsey fired back. "Don't forget your place, High Priestess. I do not answer to you."

Nanny wanted to say something, but decided against it. Terra whispered into her ears, and both disappeared, taking Caius with them. As soon as Ramsey and I were alone, I turned to him.

"Ramsey," I said, trying not to show my emotions through my voice." We need to talk."

"Lyla—" he began.

"Not here," I cut him off. "In private."

The bedroom was too far for me, so I led him toward his den while I tried to process everything.

Five million warriors had just arrived at our doorstep, led by a half-Lycan, half-witch who kissed my mate as casually as shaking hands, who happened to be Lenny's sister, and who had a history with Ramsey that no one had bothered to mention to me.

And I thought learning about my twins and prophesied sacrifice was going to be the most shocking revelation of the day.

The twin moons would rise in three days. The Dark One would return, possibly with his army. And now we had a beautiful, powerful witch-hybrid in our midst, whose loyalties I couldn't help but question, despite how much we needed the warriors she'd brought.

As I closed Ramsey's den door behind us, I wondered if more surprises awaited me before this war ended.

I turned to Ramsey.

"Do you have any more surprises for me? Maybe a woman showing up with your baby next?"

Ramsey stared at me for a long moment before bursting into laughter. "You're jealous! Oh my world, I thought this day would never come. You're actually jealous."

I glared at him, crossing my arms over my chest. "Shouldn't I be? She kissed you, and she's been acting all flirty and seductive."

"That's just how she is, Lyla," Ramsey explained, his laughter subsiding. "Circe and I have been friends since we were children. She grew up here and had to leave when she turned fourteen. Her father came for her because he couldn't have children, so he trained her to be his heir.

"Isn't her father a warlock?" I corrected him.

"Nope, her father was a Lycan, just like Lenny's father. Her mother was the witch. She broke the rules of her coven and ran away. In the process, she got rescued by Lenny's father. They fell in love, got married and had Lenny."

I suddenly realised the implications. "Wait. Is Lenny a witch, too?"

Ramsey shook his head, still smiling. "Unfortunately, he didn't get that gene. Just the Lycan side."

I nodded slowly, processing this information. "I'm still not comfortable with all of this. There's something about Circe that worries me."

Ramsey crossed the room, pulling me into his arms. "It's nothing to worry about. I love you, Lyla. Only you," he murmured.

His lips found mine, gentle at first, then increasingly urgent. I melted against him, my earlier annoyance dissolving under the heat of his mouth. His tongue traced the seam of my lips, seeking entrance which I granted immediately. My hands slid beneath his shirt, feeling the hard planes of muscle beneath heated skin.

Ramsey backed me against his desk, lifting me easily to sit on its edge. With one sweep, the stack of papers on his desk scattered to the floor, forgotten as his mouth blazed a trail of fire down my neck.

His hands slipped under my top, fingers skimming along my ribs before cupping my breasts; this time, there was no bra as a barrier to stop him.

A moan escaped me as his thumbs circled my nipples, sending jolts of electricity straight to my core. I wrapped my legs around his waist, pulling him closer, feeling the evidence of his desire pressed firmly against me.

"Is it the weather?" he murmured "I need you again, Lyla."

I gasped as his head swooped down and caught an errant nipple, running his tongue around it and stopping now and again to graze his teeth around the swollen bud.noveldrama

His mouth moved to the other breast, worshipping it as if it were the Luna stone before trailing down my abdomen, leaving wet trails of his tongue. With his left hand still circling my waist, his right hand suddenly touched my woman's core, rubbing through my loose trousers I had on.

I bucked in delight, throwing my head backwards as he located my wet slit.

"So wet, darling, hmm? You want me as much as I want you?" he asked.

If I had not been so caught up in the sweet friction his hand was causing me, I would have smacked his head for even asking. Undoing the button and the zipper of my trousers, he finally slipped his hand inside, and without preamble, attacked my wetness.

I moaned with delight, clasping my legs at the pleasure that coursed through my body, loving the way his mouth reclaimed mine at that moment with a kiss while he continued rubbing at me.

I tugged at his belt, desperate to feel him too. Just as I succeeded in undoing his belt, the door swung open.

"Ramsey, the Alphas are—" Lenny's voice cut off abruptly. "For goddess' sake!"

He shut the door immediately, shouting, "Can you two be left alone for five seconds without acting like teenagers?"

We jumped apart, hastily adjusting our clothing. My face burned with embarrassment as Ramsey called for Lenny to come in.

Lenny entered cautiously, sighing dramatically. "I can't believe you still have these urges with a war looming."

"War is exactly why we have these urges. Besides, we're mates. I don't expect you'd understand." Ramsey retorted. "What's so important?"

"You need to greet the Alphas who travelled here," Lenny explained.

Ramsey scoffed. "Aside from Circe, none of the Alpha Lycans came themselves. They only sent warriors."

"No, they all came," Lenny corrected. "It's only respectful for you to welcome them properly."

"Really?" Ramsey's eyes widened. "Circe didn't mention that. I didn't even think they would send their warriors, let alone come. Isn't it strange?"

"If the Dark One is not stopped and kills us all, who would he target next? The least we can do is show we're happy they're here."

Ramsey nodded, reluctantly accepting this duty. As he turned to leave, Lenny added, "Take Lyla with you. They're eager to see the Moonsinger."

Ramsey turned to him, frowning. "Why?"

"The Moonsinger before you, Lyla, was from one of the packs across the sea. They claim he's the best Moonsinger ever lived, so they want to see if Lyla can measure up." Lenny turned to me. "They'll harangue you with questions but you don't have to answer them if you don't want. These packs from the sea are competitive."

I glanced down at my rumpled clothing. "I should change first."

Both men agreed, and I headed upstairs to our bedroom. To my surprise, Nanny was waiting for me, sitting at the edge of the bed.

"You must be careful with Circe," she said without preamble. "It's obvious she adores Ramsey and may have been intimate with him in the past."

"Ramsey didn't mention that," I said, moving to the closet.

"As if he would," Nanny replied dryly. "You need to be cautious. If Circe could immediately identify me as a High Priestess, you as the Moonsinger and Terra as a Wise Woman, it means she can see things others can't. She may already know you're pregnant."

I sank onto the bed, staring at the ceiling. "I didn't even think of that." I sighed heavily. "Though as beautiful as Circe is, I feel oddly comfortable with her, despite everything."

"She's a witch," Nanny reminded me sternly. "Be careful."

I nodded, yawning. "I need to get dressed. We have to go greet the Lycan Alphas."

Nanny stood, heading for the door. "I'll leave you to it then. Be careful." She warned one last time before sleeping out of my room.

After she left, I yawned again.

I then checked my watch to calculate how much time I had. It was long enough for a quick power nap before I showered and changed. I didn't need makeup, so that would save time.

I stretched out on the bed, feeling so exhausted. I made a mental note to tell Nanny and Terra what I'd learned about Lenny's mother, wondering if Lenny had been lying about that part of his family history.

Before I could pursue that thought further, I drifted into sleep.
